Finally got around to looking at the serial # on a Schwinn ladies model I picked up many years ago and wanted to see if the year can be identified. The serial # is H29426. I was guessing 1939 because one of the collector books I have has a 1939 catalog page showing this exact frame design and...
This TOC tricycle seat had already been listed on eBay a couple times with no bids, so I won it the third time listed on the opener. I thought it could be an easy restoration since the leather top is very basic and requires only minimum forming and attachment with tubular leathercraft rivets -...
This is only the second Girlcycle tricycle I've ever seen for sale since I started looking at trikes on ebay back in the early 2000s. Has a uniquely designed camelback main frame.

Though at three grand I doubt I'll be adding one of these to my collection anytime soon. :(

Been meaning to post these photos for some time. Just a few shots of what I've accumulated over the years. These should keep me busy after I retire the end of this year. In case anyone is curious, that's 3 disassembled Velo King tricycles in the Greyhound wagon to restore, a 12", 16", and 20"...
I was curious as to what tool works best in cutting old style rubber having a center wire for old trike and bike wheels? I was thinking a fine toothed razor saw would work well, but maybe there's a better (easier) cutting tool? Any information would be appreciated. Nice to have the best/correct...
I've seen lots of old Columbia trikes badged "Boycycle" but this is the first one badged "Girlcycle" I've ever seen. Very unusual hump back frame design and appears to be from around the early 1920s or thereabouts...
Why in the world would you want to just sell the seat off a rare 1930s tricycle that's complete and in decent shape??? It doesn't even appear they are parting it out completely because there are no other parts listed...
Like this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/370899667090?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649
Looking for the plain metal one. Some have a fireman's picture on it but I'm using it for a police style tricycle project. If you have one, please post a pic and let me know the price...
I'd like to get a set of 1 1/4 x 27 tires to replace my original gumwall tires that came on the bicycle back in 1974 when I bought it new. The walls have gotten all brown and crusty looking from age. What's a good quality brand to look for that's made today, or should I look for NOS gumwalls...

Not a bad price for a near antique tricycle with an unusual name as this one has. Looks to be around 1920 or so with the plain frame design and short coil spring seat.
Dave
I'm no classic bike expert, but this seems like it could be a good deal for someone in the NJ area.

...I'd still like to find out a little information on my 24" Flying Cloud. What style boys seat would be correct for it - long, bee hive, or cup springs, Troxel or Mesinger, tan, black, or another color top? Any information or photos would be much appreciated. :)

In lieu of a personal photo, I believe this thread has pics showing what the cap looks like. http://thecabe.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?14547-Another-Velo-King&highlight=velo+king Would like to buy a set of them - there's actually a LH and RH cap based on the threads of a nut attached on the...

I like the rain gutter fenders on this little guy. Looks like it might date to the early '50s or so? Appears to be in good shape.

Seat Posts - $5.00 + Mailing for all 4 of them together
Kick Stand - $5.00 + Mailing
Troxel Seat Clamp for flat rails - $8.00 + Mailing
Questions are always welcome. I honestly don't even remember buying the posts and kickstand, only the Troxel clamp. Sold the seat I had bought it for a...
Actually only need one if someone has a odd single in their old bike parts stash. It would be like these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/130893858136?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649#ht_121wt_1330
It's for a pre war ladies Schwinn Mesinger seat. Thanks!

Located not far from where my wife is originally from. Hope this nice bicycle goes to a good home...wish it were mine. :(

One of the Velo King tricycles I bought years ago was missing a pedal crank and left pedal. I've since found replacement cranks but still need a matching left pedal. The pedal style is identical to this -...
I picked up a mens Troxel seat I'm guessing dates to the early 1930s today. I thought I looked it over real good - undercarriage parts weren't broken, a couple seat top to frame nuts were missing, seat cover top and bottom were in fair to poor condition. Soon as I got it home I laid it flat...
These are the correct style seats found on mid-50s to early 60s Midwest and MTD trikes if you'd happen to need one.

I knew it was going to go high, the question was just how high.

Somehow I don't think my wife would go for this type of living room wall decor.

Though the '30s Junior trike is neat looking.

They say it's in good condition and only asking $250 OBO for it. That's a great deal if it is. They'll furnish photos if interested. http://nh.craigslist.org/bik/3738648083.html NH is just too far away for me even if I did have $250 to spend right now. Maybe someone here can grab it if it's in...
Never saw one like this with a head on the head tube before: http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-ROCKET-MAN-TRICYCLE-PROTOTYPE-CIRCA-1938-/111055528505?pt=Outdoor_Toys_Structures_US&hash=item19db6ce239#ht_405wt_1130

Pick up in NJ only. $100 opening bid and no watchers as yet. What year would you guess for this vintage lady?

I bought two sets from this seller myself. These fit late 1930s to late 1940s Velo King tricycles. If there's ever a part worn out or missing on a Velo trike, it's usually one of these cranks.
If nobody...

If you could get it for the $500 opener you'd have a pretty good deal! Works out to about $25-$30 per item at that price.

Wrong seat and grips; missing head badge; badly faded graphics; appears some white house paint applied on rear part of frame.

Probably dates to the early/mid 1940s, at the latest, with the older style head design.

Yes, I would consider these truly rare if only about 20 of them were ever made. What's that old bicycle hiding behind the horse?
Dave
It would look like the one on this old ad at the bottom middle. Operates by pushing down on the plunger. Need it to fit a 3/4" tricycle handlebar.

Just need one in this size although I'd take a pair if you had them to sell. Can be any brand - Top Flight, Orco Air King, Swan, Clipper, Firestone, or Goodyear. I have one front and one rear NOS tire for a trike project, and just need the other rear tire. Thanks for checking!
Dave
Haven't seen one of these pop up for awhile.

I have little doubt the seller will at least get the opener before the auction ends. If I had a spare $950 lying around there'd...
Seems like a lot of ebay sellers dealing with older tricycles are getting greedier these days. They pull an old used and abused trike out of a barn and think they have a gold mine in ebay sales. Used to be you could win trikes from the ‘40s and ‘50s needing work with a bid of about $20 or...
Just the period accessory you need for your antique ladies model bicycle: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Stunning-Restored-1890s-Child-Seat-for-Ladies-Bicycle-/290709978778?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43afaa3e9a
I didn't even know they made add-on children's seats back then. Guess the child just...
I recently discovered Pierce also made a line of tricycles from seeing a CABE listing on ebay for Island Cycle Supply. From what I could see, they had a unique frame design on their trikes which added an extra curve on the rear part near the axle. They also added a gusset underneath the...
I'm attempting to remove a handlebar from the gooseneck and want to know what's a safe distance to spread the forged clamp part of the stem. My fear is that the metal will crack before it's open far enough to slide the bar through. I've opened it enough so that the bar wiggles a little, but it...
OK...never heard of a Royston make or model before. Even did a CABE search by the name and came up empty. Any guesses as to age and/or manufacturer? Looks like a pretty good deal for an opener of $200 if in the St. Louis area to do a local pick up...
Incorrectly listed as a bicycle seat:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/120866449171?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649
Looks like it could be a late '30s to 1940 Mercury tricycle seat based on photos in this CABE thread...
Not sure what size or make of bike this would fit.
