I have this Elgin that I am putting on eBay and I have a feeling I may be listing it as the wrong year. Can anyone tell what year this would be from?
Thanks in advance
I have seen members eat up someone just asking to get some info on their bike....or showing a picture of their bike. I am not a bike collector....even though I have a few bikes. I just grab bikes and ride them because I like them.......(I won't be riding this one as I would look like a circus...
So......is there is serial number list for Hawthorns? I did a search and have come up with nothing. I know there is one because I found one on here for my 51.....but now it is unfindable? :( I should have saved it.....
Is there somewhere online that one can look at to determine the year of a Montgomery Wards Hawthorn? I am pretty sure it's a 37'......
It would be great to look at a list! :)
Thanks!!!

I just picked this bike up this past week. It is entirely in pieces but looks complete. It has the handle bars, forks, tires and wheels, rack, seat and kickstand.
I think its an Elgin......anyone have thoughts on year make and model?
The neck for the handlebars is gorgeous.....I will...
Yeah.....its to bad for sure.....but having a trimmed deluxe guard is better that not having a guard at all!
I love your avatar rockabillyjay!!! Star Wars and Johnny Cash.....you can't go wrong!!! I started the local 501st here in Albuquerque!!
Just picked this up last week at a yard sale.....I have been searching all weekend trying to identify it......I am actually starting to think it is not even a Hiawatha as I can't find anything close to it!
It's a skip tooth too.....I thought skip tooths were on earlier bikes.....
Yup....they look totally different.....I have a feeling they (mine) are messed up. I think they should be closed and not open. What a drag....it's off to the scrap heap I guess?
So I got a single side of the rocker plates from Frankster (Thanks!)....I am still trying to find someone who can duplicate it.....but I do have a question about the forks pictured here.....shouldn't these be closed and not open the way mine is? How would the axel stay in place?
Hello again guys!
Here is a pic of my front forks and I am being told I need rocker plates......anyone have a pic of these rocker plates......or more importantly.....anyone have them for sale?
I am looking for a light lens for 1951 Montgomery Wards Hawthorne. I picked up this bike a few weeks ago and it's missing the lens. It appears I need a cap that would hold the lens too.....ok....maybe I just need a whole new light! :p
I just got this Goodyear Wings Reliance bike last week. I got it for my wife as we both decided we wanted to start riding for health and enjoyment. She has not seen or has knowledge of it yet.....I want to try and get it fixed up first.
The guy I bought it from told me it was a 1939...
