That wasn't an offer to buy either bike. To me they are parts bikes that I trash pick and junk out. Selling bikes is a way to broke more often than make money. Roger
Trainman999 at one time both the sites I listed had a way to get to the full site that GTs58 just show one of the pages from. Not sure how to get there now. Roger
Go to Waterford Precision Cycle's web site they have quite a bit of info on early Paramounts and can do research on serial numbers for a price. This is the other good site. Roger

The bike is newer than 1955. Smaller front sprocket and the front fork is different where the pivot bolt gors through the fork legs. My 1958 is like that one. Roger
I (we) bought a Huffy in that or better condition for my wife. The owner had $50 on it and went to $25 before we had a chance to make an offer. Any way it is now her ride around town bike. Roger
I suspect this is one of the Walmart aluminum framed Varsities. The freewheel is a Shimano spaced 7 speed freewheel with something like 13 to 28 teeth on it. It is an index freewheel with Shimano spacing. Any decent bike shop can get you one. Bring your wheel with you so they can take the...
The easiest way to know would be to put it up for sale ( see they have done this) with no minumum bid and watch the sale for when it ends. Then you will have the current price. Roger
MO means Murray of Ohio. Use the search feature in the upper right hand corner and find your number. All it will tell you is when the frame was built. Not like a car the serial numbers give almost no info. Pictures on the other hand are very helpful. Roger
I might be off a year but have seen 1938 Paramounts and New Worlds. They might be 1939 models. Go to Waterford Precision Bikes site they are what is still Paramount and still partly owned by Richard Schwinn. On the site they have section on old bikes. Richard will also research a bike if you...
Yes it is a Murray built frame because of the rear drop out shape but those were used on many bike models. Sears numbers from Murray started 502.xxxxxxx. Roger
One of the problems with Travelers is they were made for a long time with suttle differences but basically the same bike. This is my 1953 and 1962 for example and there isn't a lot of difference but there is some. Is one better than the other I do not know. I paid about the same for each...
The safety washer on that bike fits on a tab on the fork and is far different that the washers used by Monark. The 92 in the number would me think is is a 1992 bike. Roger
It is newer than 1965 as it has safety washers on the front hub nuts and reflector pedals. Those didn't appear until the 1970s. What is the serial number? I can see it but can't read it. Roger
Fox built and sold mini bikes, scooters and I think snowmobiles in the 1965 to 1975 era. I have part of a mini bike around here someplace. That one is a dealer sold speedometer but I think it is just repurposed bicycle speedometer. Maybe a Stewart Warner made one. Roger
Get 3 bike chains and cut of what you don't need to use. One for the back and 2 for the front. Good luck finding that much skip tooth chain and hold onto your heart when you see how expensive they are. Roger
I wasn't trying to throw people off. The reason I showed the Sierra was in the 1962 to 1964 era Schwinn had several 15 speed bicycles they sold. If you had read my post I clearly stated it was a Sierra not a Superior. Not my fault you made assumptions without reading the post. Roger
If you are talking about my Sierra the stem and fork are original. The only part that was rare on them was Sierras were the first Schwinn to use aluminum rims on an electro forged frame bike. Aluminum was used on the more expensive bikes like Paramounts, Superiors and Super Sports. Roger
The dealer story is balogny. The dealers got as many as they could sell. Schwinn was in business to make money not collectables. The 15 speeds were pretty rare but that mostly because they were expensive. I have a 1964 Sierra that is also a 15 speed and not a common bike to see.
How does the springer part of the fork move if it has truss rods? Looks to me like they would prevent the suspension movement. Maybe a owner modification. You could make truss rods with a tap and some round stock and bending. You would still need measurements to do it. Roger
2000+ year Frankenbike from from various newer bikes. If you like Rat Rod bikes it could be a rider just do not pay a lot for it. Dyno is more known for BMX bikes. Roger
My tandems serial was on the right side of the head tube. It was a regular serial number like Schwin Varsity used not a Paramount serial number type serial number. Roger
The original T&C tandems were built in the Paramount part of the factory so when Schwinn started to build Parramount tandems they used existing jigs set ups to build the bike. I have owned both bikes and there is no real difference in them except changes to use later components on the...
Easiest might be to fill the hub with the original size ball bearings and then take one bearing out of each side. That would actually be better than the factory bearings. Roger
There are two 26 x 1 3/8 bicycle tires. Schwinns that fit 597 bead seat rims and everyone elses which are 590 bead seat rims. There was also a third prewar 26 x 1.375 tire the fits a 599 bead seat rim that you have and fits neither of the other tires. Those tires are not currently made and...
Thar is not a Schwinn but a Murray built bicycle. No matter how much you want to call it a Schwinn. Schwinn never made any of the Sears bicycles. That is one of the Spaceliner series and I suspect it is a little bit newer the 1960
You need to at least post a picture. Without picture it is worth between $00 and $1,000,000. Condition is everthing with bikes and girls bike generally worth 50% of the same boys bike. Roger
Schwinn rims were called tubular rims in their advertising because they were made from a tubular shaped piece of metal in a set of dies. Has nothing to do with tubular tires. Some Schwinn rims are even stamped tubular. Roger
Read all about them tubular rims here...
If you want to be right measure the parts and put the numbers in a spoke calculator. There are several on the net you can use and most are self explanatory. Roger
Google your question and you will find answers. Most bike shops and also ebay can get them for you. Tell them you need a tire that is 24 x 1 3/4 not 24 x 1.75. Roger
