Finally , something to do with them tandems I have in the junk pile !
The local meth heads would snatch them up in a hurry , especially if
you throw in some suedafed cold tablets?:rolleyes:

Just to add my .02 I would follow Shawns advice and just wax over the original paint .
I have a couple Pierce bikes awaiting restoration and I am still trying to find the rear
shaft drive hub for one that's the only hold up for me so if anyone has one I am interested.
Mark
Thanks Gerald , I spent several hours removing two repaints to get that original paint back !
I bought the rims in black and had a buddy of mine do the wood grain paint job as he is a
much better air brush artist than I am, the next pair wont have the knots just the grain and
shading around the...
Those appear to be automotive style valves for tubeless tires , not quite what I've seen for repairing single tube but who knows they may work fine. I have seen some of the oval valves on ebay lately but kind of spendy.
Mark
Gerald , since you ask here you go !
Still a work in progress as my hunt continues for more parts.
Fake knotty finish not so popular

Welcome Gerald, nice job so far on the Mobicycle ! It looks great in black with the aged wood wheels.
I have been working at piecing a Mobicycle together the past couple months and its now in ride able
form with modern rims and tires, its my best riding prewar bike, very light yet feels solid...
I have only ridden one shaft drive bike but it was not in great shape and was very clunky in the gears so about 30 feet I got off and walked it back and I agree with the others being hard to find parts as I have been looking for a rear hub for years to complete a Pierce but the only one I found...
I just service the crank on my Iver, the race was very tight on the crank and since I did not have the correct spanner I used a punch and hammer to get it loose but I have used a pipe wrench on them in the past ..leaves a few marks though.
I built the wheels using New Departure hubs with the...
I have a slightly less than perfect one in my collection I may part with, no red celluloid backing and some wear around the upper mounting holes and a slight bend on one side as seen in the pics uncleaned.
If it interests you pm me an offer !
Mark
a friend has this 1910 or so Pierce bike but its missing the rear wheel so I am on the hunt for a wheel or just the hub. If anyone has one they are willing to part with let me know !
Thanks
Mark
Hello Cabbers, here's another for the list . I was told it was a '28 Iver Mobicycle but since its my first Iver I have no clue . Ser. # 481023
Its a work in progress.

Click the pic, even the dog got to ride in it !
Mark
Thanks for all the replies , so at least one of the calculators I used was close at 288.7 for the rear and 291.4 for the front !
I stopped at my buddies shop today and there were the rims so I had him order the spokes , now to get the paint work done.
Mark
Hello Cabers , I have finally started working on my 28ish Iver Mobicycle and the wood clad wheels are a mess so ordered up a pair of Velocity Blunt 700 35s 36 hole and will lace them to New Departure D and W hubs. I have tried a couple different spoke calcs on the web but I am getting different...
Nice starting point Joe , I don't see the head badge. I knocked the cups out of the frame and have them soaking in some cleaner as they have a thick layer of dried on grease.
I'll get back to you when I have them cleaned up !
Mark
Sorry Bill, over a hundred kickstands and the only round face is internal spring on an Iver Johnson girls frame just not what your looking for but I gave it the old college try!
Mark
Bill , I'll be in the kickstand box later today so look for that one along with the one I need for my Murray project.
Round face, external spring, slight curve in the middle 13" overall ..
Mark
Well I opened this thread thinkin I have a DX frame to part with but after reading down the page its now not for sale !
Hoarder ??? yep I fit that description sometimes
Michael that's good to hear , I included the driver as it looked to be in good shape and makes for an easy install and I didn't have to hassle taking it apart in the vise !
Works good for both of us !
Mark
so I did not have a new one ,I do have this pair if they are correct
I have a later one without the slot but this is what most D hubs use.
a little tooth wear but usable, I rolled a chain around them with no
issues.
Mark
I'm sure I have more than one of those , I have a 200# box full of ND model D hubs and parts !
I can look after work today ..let me know if you still are in need .
Mark
Thanks for the replies, I did not think to look at past sales on ebay just current listings.
I gave a purfectly good used pair of them away a short while back and these new replacements
are going to get used on a hot rod wagon in the near future for the Grandson to ride in !
Mark
I have two pair of Hansen Cycle works wheels and no real clue as what they are truely worth .
Searching the web has led me a stray with prices from $75.00 to $150.00 for one wheel,
seems way to much to me so I am hopeing someone here could set me straight on real world
values for these nos...
Welcome to the CABE , like most here I am a firm beleiver in leaveing bikes original but on the other hand I also like custom bikes !
A bendix auto (a little more original for a Schwinn) probably cost as much as the Murray as a whole, so build what you want and enjoy the ride.
Mark
The Schwinn is easy
find the serial number on the left rear dropout. web search the number.
The other bike is a Murray built bike I believe Hiawatha was a Gambles dept. store brand
but I dont know Murrays that well.
