Hi again, me again 😄
I was able to sell a bicycle and a few model kits.
One last shot - $400 cash for the men’s Raleigh? I’m off until Feb 6 and could make the drive. It’s a 1,400 mile round trip and I am crazy enough to do it. I’ve been looking at things to do in Boston. Never been and...
Wow, thank you all so much for the great info! As SirMike stated, yes it’s an alloy shell on the hub. Also, I think the seat post is alloy as well. It feels lighter than usual. I don’t think the rear reflector was OEM as there’s a rub mark on the fender like the solid rubber lights are. So I...
Yes, I was ecstatic to find it! I had to drive a bit to get it but it was definitely worth it. If I find another one I will let you know!
I do have a Trygg dual prop kickstand I might put on it today as well. I think it will look great on it. The lights are Sturmey Archer. The rear is missing...
Another great local (sort of) find! Made a day out of going to pick it up. Visited a state park on the way back and ate at a Taco Johns! The brooks saddle is from my stash, but that’s all I’ve done to it. It came with the original Raleigh Industries pedals and John Bull brake pads. I have never...
Browsing Craigslist and I found this very nice Golden Arrow about an hours drive away from me. I bought it from Tom (great guy, we talked for an hour) in Columbus. He purchased it 10 years ago in Michigan. He said it had been hanging in a barn from the rear wheel and collected water on the front...
I have a really nice Raleigh Industries bell for sale. I have not attempted to clean it yet. There is a few scratches here and there on the bell. Works as it should and complete with mounting hardware.
$65 shipped with USPS and PayPal. I can only ship Mon-Thurs but if purchased earlier enough...
Yes, I fully understand that pain of parts. Mine was missing the shifters so I paid $$$ for this NOS shifter on the bay. BUT it’s going to look awesome when it’s done. Just like yours will! :)
I have these four license plates for sale as one lot. They are in good condition. I have had them for many years now and have never used them. So hopefully someone here will put them to use. $25 shipped for all four of them. Also, due to my work schedule, I can only ship Mon-Thurs. I will pack...
Yes, it’s a Shuresta XPT stand. Which is too short and the bike leans over and falls if not supported. I’ll have to replace it. The pedals came with the bike and they say made in England on the back. I’ve not seen them on other Sports so far. Thanks for the compliment :)
I recently finished this ladies Raleigh Sports and thought I’d share. I have never owned one in this color before so I was thoroughly impressed by how bright the gold finish is! It seems to almost glow by itself. I bought the bike in Virginia from a guy who got it from an estate sale. What was...
I experience this with my roads bikes with higher pressures. They lose air but my 26” Raleighs with about 55psi tend to stay inflated several months later. I always wondered this as well.
I just replace tubes on bikes I’m refurbishing.
Heads up for you English guys, my local Walmart had 26x1...
I bought the Japanese version over this past summer as well. From the original owner who told me he rode it a few times and then hung it up. Could almost pass for NOS. Original down to the tires! I think they’re cool bikes for sure.
After watching it for almost 6 months on eBay, and having a bit too much Whiskey in me, made an offer and got it 7 days later. Not set up and loose fitted for some pics. Currently in pieces for a clean and new grease. Definitely made 2020 a little sweeter for me :)
I’ve been into bicycles my entire life and Raleigh has always been my favorite. I love the aesthetic of the old three speeds and something about the enclosed chain cases. I have had hundreds of them over the years and each of them has given me knowledge on how to repair and refurbish a bicycle...
Thanks everyone for the info! It’s been great reading about it and learning about it.
The front wheel is an Araya wheel and the rear is a Dunlop. The rear hub says Resilion on it. As for the crank arms they’re stamped with a capital letter N with the number 2 above it. Pedals are Lyotard. I...
It’s a 22” frame and 27” wheels. It’s in such great shape. I usually strip them down and with extreme OCD clean and polish every part. But this one I like as is and I’m not going to mess with it. Looks great next to all the Raleighs
I have a soft spot for Raleighs. So searching FB marketplace this morning, I found this Royal Enfield Firefly. It looked great in the pictures, so I drove the hour to go look at it. It’s in fantastic shape! I completely fell in love with it and bought it on sight. But I can’t find too much about...
I have a nice quadrant shifter for sale. I only have the shifter so no cable is included. I was going to use it, but went a different route for my bike. The shifter moves good and the spring still has good tension.
$40 shipped USPS priority mail. I can only accept a USPS money order as I do...
I can attest to this bikes durability. While my frienda all had GT performers and dyno slammers, I had this. There was some resentment for the bike, so we would ghost ride it off jumps so break it. We were never successful. Haha, bike is a tank! :)
