This is Melanie, Steve's wife. I'm selling my Ladies Schwinn Bike from 1948 I think. I just rode it around the block! It has coaster brakes and it looks like original paint and accessories. The horn works! Couldn't figure out how to open the Delta Light case to check it. The badge says...
This is Melanie, Steve's widow, and I have a true barn find that I am selling. Not sure if it is just yard art, or if it is something that a collector might be interested in. It all looks old and original to me. So if anyone is interested in making an offer, please make me an offer before I...
I think it would be too expensive to ship to MI. My last quote for takedown and shipping was $100 because I don't know how to take it a part myself. Sorry. The closest I get to that part of the country is Columbus OH or Chicago IL. Sorry about that, but thanks for looking. Melanie
This is Melanie, Steve's wife. As some of you know, Steve passed away and I have been selling some of his bikes. I've had several kind fellow collectors help me sell the bikes over the last few years, but I still have a few to sell. This is one of them. I don't know that much technically...
Kevin:
Amazing transformation!!! Thanks for posting.
Your talents are amazing.
Looking forward to seeing the Shelby again in person.

Picked up this 1967 Schwinn Ram's Horn Fast Back at auction today
Needs a pedal for the left side crank, a reflector, handlebar tape and some cleaning.
I'm more into pre-war bicycles but this reminded me more of my childhood. My first bicycle was a 1965 Coppertone Schwinn Stingray I got for...
Yes...definitely the same bicycle
Yes...That clearly is the same bicycle from the NC auction in Mebane last week. Buyer did remove that funky bracket that was hanging from seat.

Went to an auction today to possibly bid on a Shelby Airflow. (Don't see too many of these come up for sale as we all know)
Auctioneer started the auction asking for $10,000 for the bicycle but gradually came down to $2000 and stated that he had an online bidder at that amount.
Bidding was...
1935 Hawthorn (Monark) Duralium motobike.
Pretty Crusty...to say the least.:p Low serial number...1699 on rear dropout. Rain gutter fenders
Plan to take my time to clean it, put new rubber on it, etc...
I just had to save it!!!
Should be fun summer project.
Have added a few other...

Loading the truck
Chris...
My challenge is I need a bigger truck to haul what I need to to Eden.
Working on more space on the home front as well...Wife getting tired of 3 bicycles in master bedroom.
Hope to be there.

My business
Guys...
Some of you know that I retired from the Mental Health Industry last fall and started my own little Estate, Tag, Downsizing, Moving sale business. It was time to work for me and do something I love.:) Name of the business is: Making A Difference Estate Sales, LLC

Nope...Not Dead Yet...(But saw them in concert at least 50+ times in my life) (smile)
Thanks Todd for the nice comments and putting and end to the rumors...:D Glad the parts of the German built balloon tire bike looks like it will work for you.
Did a kick-off sale with some of my...
Prices include shipping.
First set of pics is for a Delta tail light that has a square red lens. It is marked "DELTA MADE IN U.S.A." on the inside bend of the bracket.
Needs to be restored. Was clearly hand painted at some point. I believe it to be model M-5928-3 that can be found in a 1940's...
Looks to have been painted with some white house paint but should clean-up pretty nice for your project.
Very small hairline crack in edge of lens that is about 1/4 inch long. tough to see in the pics.
Inside looks pretty clean as far as I can tell.
$165 shipped.
Let me know by shooting me...
A big thank you to Richie, Tony and Shane for their efforts on continuing to make the show a success and especially the passion they have for vintage bicycles and the community of collectors that truly make the hobby fun.
We had some great bicycles show up for the event...one a real show...
Pick-up Needed?
JD:
Great seeing you yesterday at Eden.
Had a great time as always.
BTW...I am heading from NC to Wisconsin in a week and could make a slight detour to save you shipping and pick this one up if you can agree on a price with the seller?
Let me know.

Dropping price to $350 plus shipping.:D
Can deliver in May to Chicago area or somewhere in between Greensboro and Chicago..(If not too far off the beaten path.)
Also can bring to Eden NC bike show on May 11th.
Thanks
Steve
This looks like the 1950, 51, 52 or 53 base or standard model of the Colson De Luxe series w/out tank or cushioner front end.
Has double bar frame with dropout rear fork. Has great big chain guard with most of Colson label there, a huge chain ring and original rear rack.
Was unfortunately...
55 Deluxe Hornet
Richie:
Great find!!! and to hear that thars still bikes to be found up der in dem hills....
Looking forward to seeing the bike in the flesh...or should I say in the paint next week at the Cabin Fever event.
Might have a Rocket Ray I would be willing to part with so you can...
See pictures. Pair Delta Silver Rays with bracket and original some-what frayed cloth wire.
Very difficult to find.
I believe this is the style used on a CWC made Hawthorne Zep bicycle.
Original lenses still there but are concave probably due to storage in an attic or elsewhere.
Missing...
Nice score
Robert:
Very nice find!!!
Hope to see it in person when we all get together again in February or March for our 2nd annual Cabin Fever event.
Heading to the meeting Sunday with Richie and the gang in Eden to discuss.
Steve K - Greensboro
Great old chain guard. Looks like CWC product. Late 1930's???
Some surface rust but otherwise pretty clean.
Measures approx 20.5 inches long.
How does $45 shipped sound?
Thanks
Steve K - Greensboro, NC
Had a bit of a frankenbike that had a Shelby badge on it and had been poorly painted and a poorly done weld to the frame.
Serial number identified it as a 1940-ish CWC product.
This 3-gill bent tank was on the bicycle. It has been painted red. The metal does show it was a little rough before...
Just found this at an auction yesterday...It has that very cool Art Deco streamline look to it.
I believe it is a 1930's Sky Line model tricycle made by Junior Toy Company.
I would like to offer it here before sending it to the Bay.
Tires are solid, Great look. Small tricycle.
Front wheel...
I have for sale a "New Old Stock" Schwinn Sting-Ray Gripper Slick. Never been put on a rim.
Made in the USA. Also reads "20x2.125 to fit S-2 Schwinn Tubular Rim" and "Keep Inflated 30-35 Pounds".
Date code is C 88 1. Check out picks. Very nice tire.
$85 shipped anywhere USA. Would rather...
JD...Glad to see you made it home
JD...
Glad to see you made it home safely. Hope that you and your family come out of this unscathed.
I was wondering if you were going to make the drive for as we saw, it was pretty nice in Mt Airy all afternoon.
Not much happened here in Greensboro later...
Thanks Roger and Phil for the input.
Phil...I did scrape off some paint off the bottom of the crank hanger and found the following serial number: H03205. Based upon your research, I believe it does date the frame to 1940 and it is a Cleveland Welding pre-war frame.
A Frankenbike it is.:eek...
Some of what I'm bringing
Attached are pics of some bicycles I plan to bring to the Mount Airy show to sell/trade.
Depending upon space...I might bring a few more.(Need to decide on what to take that I don't want to bring back home!!!)
1934 boys Elgin (beautiful white house paint; no badge...
Got the old Western Flyer badged Shelby "yard art" bicycle ready for next week!!!
Will include a strobe light and sounds next Wednesday night for additional effects....

:confused:Pulled this bicycle out of the shed and plan to take it to the Mount Airy NC show this Sunday to sell/trade.
It has a Shelby Eagle badge, but looks more Cleveland Welding to me.
It truly has kind of a Frankenbike look to it. However I do like the chain guard and chain ring but again...

Eric:
Getting pumped for the show.:D
Will be bringing some bicycles to sell...(Haven't quite decided how many to bring yet but for sure there will be one for you JD with a "Tank Light" and the mid 1930's house painted Elgin I posted last week under Classic Balloon Tire Bicycle...
Painted moto-bike
Thanks Gary for that additional serial number info.
The bike just did not look to be a 1948 model. It is still missing the tabs for the dropstand that I have on my other Columbia built Elgins but perhaps there was an option for a dropstand equipped with the tabs attached to...
Painted over moto-bike
Thanks y'all for the great input.;)
The serial number that starts with M has me still a bit perplexed if the bicycle is a Columbia-Westfield built bike for the M would signal 1948 and she seems more like a 1930's style bicycle.
The hub is pretty rusty, but I see if I...
Need some help with this.
Beautifully painted with a white house paint...probably contains lead.
Moto-bike style, with Morrow brake/hub combo.
Chain ring looks to be Elgin(Columbia-Westfield Built) Serial number M94772 (1948? Columbia-Westfield)
Rear facing drop-outs, but...
Reidesville show
Looking forward to the show.
Bringing some new finds...Some to sell, some to show. (In the mix are some very nice old survivors). See Y'all on Saturday.
