RE: I'm not in favor of rat bikes...
This is just my two cents on the whole "Rat Bike" scenario... Just my opinion, don't start shooting!
I am kind of in the feeling that the term "Rat" gets used a bit loosely, being used to describe rides that don't get any sort of restoration effort. When...
Hardley Davidson BTR
Wow! I am really loving this project (I might be partial to the whole Board Track thing though:

Mine was my first foray into any kind of a cruiser build and in the process of...
JMHO... But I'd say restore!
Got the correct lower truss bracket BTW.
Can somebody please correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the Huffman has the "S" shaped down tube, at least as far as the Mil Issued goes?
Would a Huffman frame not have the "S" down tube?
Be curious the see the truss brackets closer.
Heck of a find... go buy your powerball tickets, or not you may have spent your luck on this.
Thanks John,
I shot an email out to Al Berger (Bergerwerke Bikes) also. He'd pretty much confirmed my assumptions that the markings were pretty much at the discretion of the unit/command that had the bikes. Apparently the white fender areas was a European theatre thing... Guess my project's...
I've been looking (not too hard, mind you!) for information on white markings on the G519 bikes and haven't as of yet even found anything in the line of generalizations. So my question is this, was there anything close to a standardized marking or was it pretty much left up the unit that owned...
Looking for a seat post for an early CWC frame that was recently purchased, assuming it would need to be a 5/8" (Only size I've seen that's close). Also corresponding binder/pinch post hardware. Items will be painted so not concerned with finish.
Thanks in advance,
Mike G
Kick stands...
Well I could use one of them (if you have two) if you're rescuing them from the garage... I mean that's kind'a why I was posing the question...;)
MrColumbia... Yes, that's the one I was thinking about, thanks!
I have a question on the kickstands I've seen on pics of WWII bikes. I've combed the "Berg", Military Bike.com, Mr. Columbia's website, and I have yet to find anything at all on what kickstands were used. I know some earlier ones actually used a drop style stand, but I've seen some that had the...
You might do better on the girls bikes if you were willing to part them out... Finding that out real quick on a late 40's Higgins Colorflow girls bike.
