Not sure. Mike is or at least used to be under his own name Michael Wolfe. He doesn't post much so I'm not even sure if he is still a member. American Pickers has gotten some criticism from other members so it may have made Mike not want to post
Anymore.
Does anyone see any potential in fixing up this bike? I already have a tandem but thought it would be fun to play around with. I don't think it's worth much, so I don't see any harm in messing around with it. Any opinions from members? Worth making original or just get it rolling again?

Thank you, I very gently cleaned it. I did have some pictures I posted quite a while ago. Hopefully I can find them because right now the bike is in pieces in a tote. I have the frame in my office working on it.
Finally cleaning up my 1936 Iver Johnson. All I'm doing is knocking off the rust and buffing the paint out. Looking better already. I'd like some advice on the head badge. Looks like it's copper. You guys think I should make that copper shine or just gently clean it and leave the patina on there?
Thanks, I'll post more when I can. The bike is pretty beat but it was cheap and the old guy I got it from was fun to talk to, plus he has three barns full of cool old stuff to rummage through.
Need help to ID a bike. Dug out an old Schwinn out of a barn out from behind a bunch of chairs and tractor parts today. Has the winged Schwinn head badge. Can someone let me know what years Schwinn used the winged head badge? Its a single speed road bike, it's too dark now to look at serial...
I just bought a complete Sears Spyder but the seat is pretty trashed. Anyone got one for sale or trade? I have a few things I can trade. The bike is not perfect so the seat doesn't have to be either. Love this bike. I'll post pics as soon as I get some. Thanks.
Bought this off a guy in Bedford, Indiana. Would like to build it up and ride it eventually. Hoping someone could give me some info on it. Thanks for any help.
I have a late 1930's Iver Johnson and I want to remove the cranks to re grease them. Any pointers? I have removed lots of different cranks but never any like these anybody out there know how to do it?
I posted this in the Schwinn forum but thought somebody else may be able to help since it may not be a Schwinn. I am looking at this to buy for myself and the seller claims it is a 1947 Schwinn but I can't find it in any of the catalogs. Any here know what it is? I do now the rims have been...
Seller states this is a 1947 Schwinn Tandem but I can't find it in the catalogs. Any one out there know if this is truly a Schwinn Tandem? If not can anyone tell me what it really is? If all goes well I will be picking it up tomorrow.
Any tips for a newbie trying to get the crusty bits of old tires and tubes off a rim? Had to cut the tire off and it was a shame. Hurts me to do so but I had if I ever want to ride this bike. It had a U.S. Royal Master Centipede Grip on the front but it was toast. The back tire is so far gone...
This will be my first restoration. I don't plan on messing with the original paint but I would like to get all the non painted parts cleaned up. I'll be hitting up all you experienced guys for hints and help along the way. I got the hand grips in the mail today and I'm not impressed with them at...
Franklin lbs
Now that I know they are open for business I'll pay them a visit soon. We plan on seeing some movies at the art craft ourselves soon as well .
Bike shop
I've been to Franklin many times, even lived there for a short time. I made a trip there just to go to the bike shop last year. They had ads for it online and on their website. When I got there construction wasn't even done yet. They were supposed to have been open the week prior...
Any good bike events in Indiana? I am fairly new to collecting and would love to check out some swap meets. I had to miss the one in Versailles last month.
thank you
I thought about offering him around 100.00 if the seat is in good shape, I need one for my Iver Johnson. What I thought was an odd headlight looks more like a fender ornament, am I right about that?. Any thoughts on what I should offer based loosely on the crappy pics?
Going to look at this bike today, any opinions on the highest I should be offering? I'm pretty new to buying the older balloon tire bicycles. Any help would be great. Thanks. And yes, unfortunately, these are the only pictures available. I was also wondering about that light. I could not find...
thanks
I appreciate the help. The chrome fenders look great under the paint. The front rim and pedals are newer, not sure about the seat but I believe the back rim is original to the bike. This bike will go on my list to fix up eventually. I didn't think 25.00 was a bad price for the bike.
I picked this up a few weeks ago. I stopped to ask a guy about his old Schwinn and he said it was his neighbors but he had an old bike in the shed. This is what he pulled out from under a pile of cans. BTW the Schwinn was a newer cruiser anyway so I lost interest quickly on that. It was 25.00 so...
iver
Just ordered some tires and grips for it. Can't wait to ride it. I'll be rebuilding the hubs and lubing it all up. Other than that not sure how far I'll be going with it.
