I recently sold off my vintage bicycle collection but I did hang onto a couple of fun riding bikes and this is the one I took out today.

Someone offered me 40.00 for it so he can put it in his garden. That's a decent profit for it but can't decide if I want to part with it

Not sure. Mike is or at least used to be under his own name Michael Wolfe. He doesn't post much so I'm not even sure if he is still a member. American Pickers has gotten some criticism from other members so it may have made Mike not want to post Anymore.

Does anyone see any potential in fixing up this bike? I already have a tandem but thought it would be fun to play around with. I don't think it's worth much, so I don't see any harm in messing around with it. Any opinions from members? Worth making original or just get it rolling again?

Thank you, I very gently cleaned it. I did have some pictures I posted quite a while ago. Hopefully I can find them because right now the bike is in pieces in a tote. I have the frame in my office working on it.

Finally cleaning up my 1936 Iver Johnson. All I'm doing is knocking off the rust and buffing the paint out. Looking better already. I'd like some advice on the head badge. Looks like it's copper. You guys think I should make that copper shine or just gently clean it and leave the patina on there?

Any tips for a newbie trying to get the crusty bits of old tires and tubes off a rim? Had to cut the tire off and it was a shame. Hurts me to do so but I had if I ever want to ride this bike. It had a U.S. Royal Master Centipede Grip on the front but it was toast. The back tire is so far gone...

thanks I appreciate the help. The chrome fenders look great under the paint. The front rim and pedals are newer, not sure about the seat but I believe the back rim is original to the bike. This bike will go on my list to fix up eventually. I didn't think 25.00 was a bad price for the bike.

I picked this up a few weeks ago. I stopped to ask a guy about his old Schwinn and he said it was his neighbors but he had an old bike in the shed. iver Just ordered some tires and grips for it. Can't wait to ride it. I'll be rebuilding the hubs and lubing it all up. Other than that not sure how far I'll be going with it.

serial number 544009 I think. The last number is a little hard to make out and this bike is a keeper.
