Howdy folks! Looking for a prewar stand for my cycle truck. It doesn’t need to be very pretty, just has to work. I can make one, but would prefer an original. It’s the last major piece of the puzzle to make the bike fuction like it’s supposed to!
Thanks, Jon
I’ll admit tricycles aren’t my thing. But this rain gutter fender caught my eye. Would love to know what it is. Fix it up and it’ll be for my soon to be 2 year old girl!
Howdy folks! Im searching for a motobike tank for my wife’s rider. It’s a 1934 Schwinn that I’m currently building/sorting parts and fine tuning it to her liking. She wanted a bike to match mine. So it needs a tank, any condition considered. Paint doesn’t matter. Rust is fine. Holes are fine...
I keep digging and can’t find a thread for just Cycle Truck pictures! Would love a reference thread to just poke around in and look at pictures for inspiration or to see what parts might be correct.
Currently working on my 1939, trying to salvage the original paint. I can’t find any pictures...
If anyone sees this come up for sale anywhere, it’s stolen. This is an old bike of mine. I built it and painted it. Sold it at a garage sale last year to a woman who just had to have it. Every single part on this bike is extremely pitted. Rust holes in the tank, fenders, rocket ray.
Cleaning out the stash! I’ve ridden on these and they are fine. Pictures tell the story. Good for riding or display. Good tread. I’ve cleaned them once.
Feel free to combine with my other tires to save shipping.
EDIT: Has been pointed out these are made in Taiwan 90’s repops. Did not catch it myself!
Cleaning out my stash. Have not had these mounted. In good shape, light cracking, bead is missing some rubber in spots pictured. Tread is good. Should display perfectly. Would probably ride just fine...
EDIT: I have been informed these re 1980’s repops from Coker due to them not having “Made in the USA” on them.
Cleaning out my “get to’s that ain’t been got to” stash. Good shape, light cracking, good tread. Will clean up nice. I’ve not personally had them on a bike, see no reason why they...
Howdy folks. Picked this one up last year to build, and wouldn’t ya know, I haven’t touched it. Had a bunch of wrong parts when it was “restored” years ago. Paint really isn’t bad, cleans up nice. Ding in the middle bar is the biggest ugly…
Pics show everything. Chips and stuff here and there...
Howdy folks. Picked up this seat at a swap meet and am getting ready to restore it. Wondering if someone can identify what it is? I will be making a new pan because this one has been welded and repaired before. Just looking to figure out what it is so I can see an example of what I need to do...
Looking for a teens or 20’s, possibly early 30’s 28” wheel Schwinn built motobike, truss or double bar frame. Frameset preferred, wheels not necessary. Looking to do a 700c wheel conversion.
I deeply regret selling this one a few years back, if anyone happens to recognize it, I’d love to buy it...
Howdy folks. I’ve got a couple of frames that need some repair, replacing of sections or even some customization in the future. I’d like to build a jig to be able to bolt the frame in, cut out the bad and section in the good parts. Just looking for ideas to keep it straight and square.
I have a...
Let’s try this out… My collection is moving in a different direction and I need to free up some funds and space. This was a really fun project, but it’s time for someone else to take over.
No shipping right now, will deliver to the Hoosier swap this weekend 1/22/22.
I tried my best to save as...
I keep picking these up from the scrap yard because I can’t see them get scrapped... However I only need one myself.... So what do you all do with them? Doesn’t seem to be a tremendous amount of people interested in buying them.
Picked this up this morning because I’d never seen one of these rear hub setups. I’ve also always wanted to play with one of these Dana units. Interesting custom to say the least!
I’m just starting to read about these Tokhiem units, which was built right here in my hometown of Fort Wayne, IN...
Anyone ever done this? Came across a 28 hole hub and already had all the rest of the parts.
Pretty neat! Not sure what this hub was made for, not seen another 28 hole and can’t find anything about them.
Low gear is perfect for climbing hills, top gear is similar to standard Stingray gearing I...
Got this in a collection I bought, I really wanted to clean it up, but just have too much to do... I did air up the tires and ride it, works perfectly! Shift’s awesome. Personally, these 2 speed manuals are the ones to have.
I’ll let the pics do the talking. Bike is located in Fort Wayne, IN. I...
Had silver paint on it, cleaned it off a little tonight. Would clean up and be cool on a rider. Needs a little straightening.
$70 shipped in the lower 48
I’ve seen 2 of these in the last week. Same exact bend, at first I’d have said they were custom jobs, but the chrome isn’t disturbed like I would expect if someone threw it in a vise or hit it with heat.
So is this some kinda aftermarket or did someone just get really lucky on their bend??
Good condition, minor scuffing campus green glitter grips. Came off an early Pixie, will work on Lil Tiger too. Couple specks of discoloration.
$30 shipped to the 48.
This bike came with a collection I bought. I thought at first it was a hybrid, till I googled it. Looks to be a 1993 given the purple paint. Kinda digging on this bike. Everything seemed to work till the non drive side crank snapped off... it had some corrosion around the shaft.
Not sure if I’m...
Now that I’ve got your attention...
So we bought our home a couple of years ago, last year sometime one of the neighbors down the street came down to introduce himself since we constantly had old cars sitting in the driveway. Older gentleman named Ron, one of the sweetest most kind men I’ve...
Cleaning this one up for a random stranger. I spotted this one on my commute to work leaning up against a tree. It wasn’t there, then showed up one day. I drove by it for a few weeks before I finally worked up the courage to stop.
I had an idea what it was, but it was too far off the road to...
Not finding a whole lot of these around. Picked this up at Memory Lane in a trade deal. I know there are a lot of wrong parts, but overall it’s a good start for what I wanted. Would like to see some more!
Upon first research it appears it’s a 1934 model B9. I don’t think the head badge is...
Picked this one up at a swap meet about a month ago. No idea as to why it’s in the shape it’s in, but I saw potential. I was intrigued by the blue band two speed and front brake. I didn’t know exactly what it was, but I knew I couldn’t let it just sit there...
First order of...
A few years ago I bought some Cheng Shin 26” knobby tires, they look good and ride well. At the time they were only $12 a piece, can’t remember which site I got them from... Can’t find any right now. Same for 20” Duro knobbies... Anyone have any sources for them?
Been away from the hobby for awhile as I was playing with cars and starting a family... Well cars are too expensive anymore and I’m enjoying this hobby with my wife and little girl, with another on the way. Started with my dad when I was 12, 28 now, building custom choppers out of old girls...
Looking to purchase a kit like this? Really only need the hardware, but sticker would be cool too. Before I go sourcing parts at the hardware store and have a machinist make the tools to install the rivets, anyone have a link to something like this?
Alrighty folks, this is my first “real” lightweight. It’s been years since I’ve had a 60s-70’s lightweight. Always been a balloon tire and stingray guy, but have kept my eye out for the right early skinny tire.
Picked this up last night, so far after reading a little on here, seems to fit in...
Howdy folks. Working on a 1950’s balloon tire kids bike. I wasn’t able to get a measurement on spokes... Would someone happen to know what length I need for the front and rear? Coaster brake bike. 20” S2’s.
Threw this ‘39 DX together. Got it a few years back at Ann Arbor. My favorite frame style, took me a few years to get around to doing something with it because I wasn’t sure where I wanted to go with it.
Someone painted it before, oven cleaner got most of it off, some OG paint left. Perfect...
Howdy. Looking for one of these forks. This one has been repaired before and needs some serious repair to make it work again. Would like to see if there is another out there before I go through that hassle.
Thanks!
Just picked this one up tonight. First road bike over ever bought while actually looking for one. Never could hold onto them, but wanted a nice one for my collection and to ride on the country roads where I live. This ones got a neat story. The friend I got it from got it from the son of the...
Picked up a couple 700c hoops last night for a 28" bike and I'm looking for tire options. They are going on a track inspired bike. Pictures would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Bike with 26ers.
Weinmann aluminum concave 700s
Picked this up from a friend tonight after telling him I was looking for a prewar lightweight Schwinn. He said he knew he had a drop bar frame, but I was looking for a diamond. Went over to see what he had and he shows me this, we were trying to figure or what it was and came up with nothing...
Just picked one of these hubs up, it was laced in an s7. I'm lacing it into an s2. I've calculated the spoke length to 256mm or just over 10". As I've never measured for spoke length before, I was hoping someone could confirm out there who has one of these hubs in an s2 wheel. Any help would be...
Picked up this c model with the idea it was going to be a stripped down cruiser when I got done with it.
I went back and forth on what to actually do with it. I had purchased a prewar Fleet badged ladies bike specifically to use the parts on this very frame, even before I bought the c...
Fresh off the rebuild of my Admiral, I'm keeping the ball rolling. This will be a quickie as the person I bought it from, my cousin, will be in for thanksgiving and he wants to ride this one.
Kind of a rare bike, not all that common, although probably not all that valuable ether. But it's...
Hello, bought this last year at ML with the intent of it being my first motobike, well I'm just not in love with it and don't want to tackle the project.
From what I was able to gather it's late '20's. It's a project, fork is bent, truss rods as well. Handlebars seem cocked a little, may be...
Picked this up from a fellow CABER last weekend. Was going to wait to get a couple other projects done, but it's killing me seeing it hanging there and not being able to ride it. So on the stand it goes. This one is getting a a mechanical rebuild/ regrease and a paint/ chrome clean up. Going to...
Trying to figure out what's the correct seat post bolt on prewar Schwinn ballooners. Were there different types? When did the AS bolt start?
Thanks, Jon.
Picked up a prewar Fleet badged schwinn built ladies bike. Has a Musselman rear hub. I've never seen one on a schwinn, but I'm not very knowledgable in these prewars. What says the CABE? Original or swapped? Bike looks to be original, been painted a couple times, I'm using it for parts.
