Old thread here..... In my attempts to research my chain guard, I came across this thread. I've always suspected it was an accessory chain guard since it had multiple mounting holes for the down tube clamp. This guard is very art deco in styling, which I love. It must be early 40s or very late...
Picked this up cheap on CL. I'd like to know what the year and what model Murray this is. Didn't come with a badge or chain guard. Any help?
Serial is MOU 315167.

Just grabbed this from a local CL ad. Not a whole lot to go off of here besides the frame itself. No badge or chain guard. I'd like to know the year and which model it is. Any help?
MOU 315167

Oh ok, that makes more sense. Early 36 serial number, bike purchased in August of 36 and the person had the initials of JE. I still thinks it's a crazy coincidence that it's my birthday!

Is 8/28 the actual "born on" date? (Which happens to my birthday!) I've never seen date stampings like that on prewar frames. Is there any explanation for this?
I was told its a B model, but I really do not know the difference between B & C. Can y'all enlighten me please?
I just picked up a 36 model B motorbike frame. Its a bare frame... I'd like to see the possible head badges it might have came with. Screw hole spacing is 2 3/16". Is there a link someone can point me to with a comprehensive, or maybe post some pics here?
Since this is a thread about chain adjusters... What is the chain adjuster thread pitch on pre war Schwinn's? (such as the one above) Is it a common modern pitch, or is it something that's not used anymore? I need to chase the threads in mine...
Just picked up this straight bar Henderson from a guy in Marin... He thinks its a 41' but I'd like a second opinion. It has the "pinch" bolt area for the seat post instead of the seat clamp. Does that make it earlier than the seat clamp models? Serial #H55849... Any more info on Henderson models...
Cool.. I'm glad the clip is in place too. Either way, I think I could make them work. Just let me know pice shipped to 95608, Carmichael CA & Paypal. Thank you!
What's the difference between the two?? Ha! I have a peaked rear fender now but it's off a difderent frame and just doesn't fit right with the wheel in place. Leaves zero room for the drop stand clip.
I'm ok with "junky" as long as it's repairable. It'll get body worked and painted anyway.
Digging up an old thread here because Rollfaster posted the same question I have, with a very similar serial number, SE2959. I'd jus like to see if there's a clarification as to the SE being 40 or 41...?

Prewar Bendix 36-13 skip tooth hub. I've taken this hub apart and thoroughly cleaned and inspected it, and its in great shape. I put it back together WITHOUT grease, so the buyer will have to grease it up. $20.00 plus shipping
I picked this up for a build that I did, but it never made it to the bike. The bike is long gone so now so this is up for grabs. $20 + shipping.
Fits this frame.
I've decided to sell my Build Off 7 creation - LACKLUSTER. Some folks have commented on how they'd like to own in or have it in their collection. Now is their chance. The bike has about one hour of ride time on it. It would be nice to not have to ship it.. I can deliver to the Sacramento or Bay...
I'd like to find a complete 26" rat trap springer. Paint/rust condition doesn't matter as long a it's complete with rockers & hardware. Thanks. PayPal ready!
Monark Deluxe reflector. It's polished & striped. Great condition, ready to bolt on. $45 + shipping.
I also have the fender, it's blue, and in nice shape. I'll sell the fender for $25 + shipping. If you want both together.. I'd do $65 + shipping.
Not the best picture of the fender, but you...
I already had a set of ND hubs that had the standard type cog... and as I built the bike I wanted to personalize it for my wife. She has stars tattooed on her foot so the star sprocket fit the bill there. She's a soccer player and the vintage bell had a soccer player on it. No worries though...
Did anyone happen to email this guy and have his number?? The CL ad is inactive and I'd like to get ahold of him to see if its still available. Thanks!
I just picked up this tank for the Savage I did for my wife a couple years ago. I was beginning to wonder if I'd ever see one on this style girls frame so I'm pretty excited to have this one now!
It has what I would call a "horn button delete plate". Was this a factory thing companies did on...
