Looking for a 70's Raleigh International. Condition: Nice or ready to restore with most original components. Size mostly unimportant as for collector - but not overly large.
Love chrome bikes so found this fairly nice Schwinn Voyageur in chrome and took it home. It looked ok but bearings were notchy and clear coat was hazy and flaking off the chrome so I decided to do a full restore and try for good as new.
You have to start some where so stripped all the goodies...
Restoring a Raleigh Comp 1980 and it has a Campy Grand Sport Crank. The arm has a small hubcap like cover that comes off with an allen wrench that then uncovers a 15 mm bolt head. This bolt is on there to stay. I searched the net for videos but found none on older Campy Grand Sport crank...

Looking at a vintage Raleigh bike with this campy crank. I did a long search on the net and could find no photos or other showing this crank with two bolts. Any ideas?
Restoring a Schwinn Voyageur and would like to use a new chain. I am a bit confused as to what length to buy. The bike is a 12 speed so I thought I needed a 12 speed chain but bike shop says I need a 6 speed chain. Is this because it has a derailleur ?
Have a all chrome Schwinn Voyageur that I stripped all old hazy clear coat off and then applied new decals. I am thinking I should now re clear coat this frame but not sure if I can just use a clear spray like dupli color or other auto supply store paint - or spend to have it pro done.
Anyone...
Looking for some chrome or polished stainless steel spokes for my project '81 Schwinn Voyageur. Is the a guide or description somewhere on the net that will tell me the correct diameter and length for front and back wheel spokes?
Working on a Schwinn Voyageur at the moment and need some tools. I would like to find a reasonable (new or used) repair or work kit for this type of Schwinn. Need spoke tool, chain tool, wrenches or tools for crank and other moving parts removal or replace. Looked on Amazon but there is a...
Bought two chrome 1970 Sears Fleetwoods and now in process of semi restoring one of them. Striped the old clear coat off the chrome and polished it. New cables and white cable housing, cleaned as much as possible (might have to have the wheels re spoked to get the hubs nice and have chrome or...
Love fixing up old bikes but the hardest part for me is getting the laced spokes clean and shiny. Respoking is very pricey so cleaning is the best way for me. Tried steel wool of course but very time consuming so maybe a chemical or something ?
Rare Schwinn for your collection. 1977 Schwinn Volare. Very hard to find one of these for sale, anywhere. Paint is fair to good with scrapes and such, decals are fair with some missing areas, chrome and metal are great, seat is incorrect but I think all else is correct. Local pickup preferred...

Ok,,,guess I will put it outside for a year in Iowa weather so it shows the proper "patina" that collectors want today...someone even had the incredible opinion that it was a repo even though I showed them that the original 1963 paperwork had the same serial number as the bike..also the only...
