Some G519 came with black coke bottle grips both Huffman and Columbia built I think they were slightly different with the columbia having a more ball shaped end and the huffman more flat like the coke bottle bottom, now the pics are black and white but I don't think there were any green coke...
hello Robert, as stated this is postwar French or Belgian of similar design, here in the US the originals are somewhat easy to find as most Americans do not know them and the markings are somewhat hidden so they are passed over as Boy Scout items, I have found quite a few after I realized what...
don't use vinyl on your seat , just find as thin a piece of brown leather as you can , you dont need much I bought mine at a leather craft shop from the remnants table for 6 bucks and was enough for 2 seats, also I have both chain rings if you need one the sweet heart is different from the...
I should also explain the reason I picked up this bike was that I never was a fan of the Phantom and after 30 years of messing around with old bikes I never owned one , I bought older stuff and Columbias or other brands, I have a great original paint DX and have had other Schwinns but never a...
Jeff, you are absolutely right, that was always the plan for this bike, get it down to see what the original paint looks like , not a restoration project the repro seat and fenders were picked up while I was looking for a crusty front fender and light , the plating on this thing is really poor...
thanks for the replies, I should have mentioned the original front fender was missing and seat was just the pan , reissue fenders and seat I added until I can find some crusty replacements , under the green spray paint is a real red Phantom made on 2/7/1951 the rear coaster brake is a New...
I picked up a beat up Red Phantom a while back which had a front brake drum but was missing all the other brake parts and after chasing front drum brake parts I realized the parts to complete it will be more than the cost of the whole rest of the bike , so I decided to just fit a non drum front...
I think its the 331st bomb group 357th bomb squadron about 1944 while attached to the Second Air Force stationed in Casper Army Airfield in Wyoming while the Second was a training force for heavy bombers
I have had a drink right at this location many times its just down the street from my friends house, he has an all original BSA folding bike found just near here, I will be there again in June.

I am looking for a used and salty front fender with headlight for a Phantom as well as the front brake parts, I have only the drum on the wheel.
I just picked up a really salty oversprayed bike and I want to replace the missing parts , thanks!
Hello Boz not to be a stickler but I think that is still the wrong chain wheel looks like the Schwinn version, I believe the correct one has teardrop shape cut outs towards the center and not the triangles as on yours
Yours will certainly do until you find the correct one
I was lucky to find a very nice original BSA airborne folder recently but unfortunately it is missing the original sliding pedals, I noticed the crank arms were different than my other that had sliding pedals, I figured the arms might have been changed out with a nonfolding military bsa to add...
Hello, I know the brake pads are different front to back but are the caliper arms also different?
one of my bikes has the arms with a slight dog leg and the other they are straight as the front
John
turns out I will not be using these , I will offer them up to forum members here before I put them up for sale on ebay, I have sent pms to the 2 that commented on this post that they were looking for some
the price is a ridiculous $500 , they are a matched set , and you all know how hard they...

Hello Lee , I have much of the same work to do on my Para bike, where was your saddle from and what did it cost if I may ask, I was planing on just using a newer Brooks but yours looks great so I might spend some $ on it, I have also been looking at those Bulgarian tool pouches,

hello guys , has anyone ever seen a WWII bike with wartime morrow eclipse 36 11 hubs?
I have a matching wartime set of blackout 36 11 marked hubs as well as the more common 36 10 marked hubs has anyone else seen 11s on a wartime army bicycle?
I am not sure what you plan on doing to the bike , but keep in mind these are worth the most in original UNRESTORED condition, so everything that you do to it is ruining the value, I would not do anything but add grease and dust it off
After a chance meeting with a Whizzer collector while looking at a Cycletruck and asking about any spare parts as I was looking for an Eclipse front hub , I was happy to get a messege from him that he had a front and rear matching set. years ago he bought a wheel set and removed the hubs, he...
