looks like a modified postwar Schwinn frame. The spring, cable, and chain is for brakes.

its a 1961-1964 Flightliner, sold at SEARS stores, built by Murray. price is around $100 in that condition. i had one and i couldn't get rid of it for $100 and it still had paint on the tank. Traded mine for a 1939 Schwinn ACE girls bike to another local collector.

I know it wont be the "original Columbia bike" but they are definitely trying to get back to their roots like so many other companies, with their new bikes... Cool thing is, i have a blue 1952 %star Superb like the one in the video, and it is my prized and most favorite bike in my whole...

I do ride that Columbia, being 6'5" is tough lol. what is the Schwinn worth being totally restored? I know that restored bikes are worth less than original bikes.

I was offered to trade my 90% original 1951 Columbia 5 star superb for this 1952 Schwinn B6 that has been completely restored. Good or bad deal? My Columbia is the bottom pic.

I've got a 1951 Columbia 5 Star Superb, 1934 Waverly, and a White Motor Company Super Sport 250 ice track racer in my living room. along with a 1940 Harley Flathead 45 engine on the mantle.

That bike is built by AMF it is 1960s and worth around $100. Its a nice flip if you get it cheap enough.

I just picked up a Schwinn ACE and the serial number is B76994. What year is it? what did it look like originally? The bike has had the cranks and chainguard and seat replaced. The bike has a springer with a 7 inch long steer tube.

I buy a lot from him too, that's where I got my 1951 Columbia 5 Star. I also sell him a lot. I don't know if he had the clear coated Hawthorne by the door still but that was my bike that I bought at Memory Lane Classics. I traded him that one for my 1941 Hawthorne.

I'm buying this bike from a buddy of mine and i want to know the possibilities that it could;d have been when it was original. The bike frame has been identified as a 1953. The bike has been painted therefore I have no clue as to what it was. When i get it, it will be just like you see it minus...

The red one is a 1940 or 1941 CWC built. I have a 1941 mens CWC built Hawthorne with an "H" serial number. The blue one looks to be post 1955ish because it is not a skiptooth. However there is a possibility that the blue one was converted to standard sometime post 1955.

Turn the sprocket to full engaged then tighten the outside bearing just snug but so it can disengage. if that doesn't work then its something mote internal. I've had that same problem and that's how I solved it.

Yeah, a Park brand is the best that I've heard of for affordability. I use a cheap one that my buddy got off o eBay that I bought from him. It manages well.

Those are original pedals not repro. they came on deluxe bikes like Schwinn Phantoms and Columbia 5 Star Superb style bikes, high end bikes. My 1951 Columbia 5 Star has Torrington's but I'm sure they may have come with Persons at one time.

How does one simply convert a ND model D into a 2 or 3 speed?

I love this bike! I was thinking of having someone put a victory V on my 1941 Hawthorne. I love old Columbias.

I knew I was forgetting one major one! my favorite is a New Departure model D. Easy to rebuild and they have great braking power.

I'd clean it up and ride it. clean the chrome, give it a good wax job, and replace the rubber and ride.

I usually throw a little 10W-30 motor oil on my brake clutch pads, then use heavy duty wheel bearing grease on the rest of it.

This one is from my home town and I bought it along with the bike it was registered to in 1958. When the bike was hit by a car two years ago I cut it off and made this mount to put it on the fender of my 1941 Hawthorne. I happen to know the guy that still has 0125 on his child hood bike from 1958.

Ive never thought of it as a curse but, when I bought my 1960 Murray fleetline from a guy everything that could possibly break broke. Bearing balls cracked in half, chains snapped repeatedly, stem bolts would loosen up while riding, seat clamp bolts would snap mid ride, the bars would come...

That's how I ride with all of my Torrington's. I wear converse so it fits in there nicely. but when I wear work boots I can forget about that. lol

At least they used a 1970s girls breeze. We would all be there digging at it if it was a DX or a Phantom. I'm glad they didn't use a bike that is valuable when doing this.

In Michigan the value of that bike I'd say is about 400 max. if you're keeping it as a rider then id say that 35 is a good buy, if you plan to flip it then probably try to get it for 250 or 300.
