‘69 Apple Krate /Need your expertise

I’ve had this ‘69 Apple Krate for quite a few years. Been hanging in my workshop for a long time. It had no seat and the cables were in horrible condition. I found a 90’s seat for it and put new cables on it. The shifter does not have the mechanism in it that locks it into each speed. Funny...

Withdrawn ‘40 Schwinn DX / Mead Crusader

Up for sale is a rarely seen ‘40 Schwinn DX that is badged a Mead Crusader. This bike is very solid and in overall very nice condition. The rear rack and chain guard is with a fair amount of paint loss yet still presentable. Right side of tank has some paint loss and chipping. I believe someone...

    Late ‘35 Elgin Blackhawk Question

The wood clads were used on both the Blackhawk as well as the Falcon model. The transition from wood clad to the triple steps occurred sometime during mid to later ‘34. It is likely that a majority of the ‘35 models had the triple step rims as the wood clad was transitioning out by then. What...

    Elgin/ Westfield Truss Rods

Hey thanks Ian, I really appreciate you offering these but I’m looking for a set that has a fair amount of decent chrome left on them. Don’t want anything that looks nearly new but a set that shows it’s age with decent chrome left. I really appreciate your time!

OG Paint Elgin Fork and Fender

I’m looking for an original paint fork and front fender for a Falcon project. Both would need to be “black and ivory” just as in the picture for reference. These were also on other Westfield bikes of the same era. Thanks in advance for taking the time to look!

    Sold RARE! Iverson Dragstripper

Here is an opportunity to own the very rare 26”version of the Dragstripper. The more well known 20” muscle bike version of this is a bit more common but the adult 26” versions rarely ever pop up. This bike is in amazing condition overall. When I found it there was a bit of surface rust on the...

    Rollfast V70 Tank

😂 yea I guess it is close to eggplant color. I believe this color is a bit more rare on the V70’s than the Indian Red. Actually, I wish my frame was this color

    Late ‘35 Elgin Blackhawk Question

In ‘33/‘34 catalog it states that the 28” were offered in 1 1/2” glue on.
  24. Brian

    Late ‘35 Elgin Blackhawk Question

Yes I have a ‘35 Blackhawk with these 26” wood/ steel clad rims. Quite honestly for it to be accurate, it should have the triple step rims on it though. I also read that in the ‘33/‘34 spring summer catalog they had the option to choose either 26” or 28” rims.

    Late ‘35 Elgin Blackhawk Question

Oh well,..I guess this topic on such a great bike is less interesting than I thought.
  26. Brian

    Late ‘35 Elgin Blackhawk Question

I believe most of us (including myself) have always determined what the “main” differences are between the Elgin Blackhawk and the Falcon. That being the ‘34 and ‘35 Blackhawk has chromed fork and stainless fenders and is with black paint trimmed in red. The ‘34 Falcons had painted forks and...

    Elgin/ Westfield Truss Rods

Looking for a decent set of chrome truss rods for early to mid 30’s Elgin and/or Westfield series bikes. These were on Blackhawk’s, Falcons and many other 26” Elgin and Westfield built bikes. Would like to find a set with a “medium” to “fairly nice” chrome. Nothing near perfect. Measures about...

    Rollfast?

To be more accurate,..Rollfast was their brand that was manufactured up until sometime in the 70’s
  35. Brian

    Rollfast?

Rollfast bikes are made by the H.P. Snyder Manufacturing Co. which has been making bicycles for well over a hundred years. The Rollfast brand is very well known among bicycle collectors. Yes your bike does appear to be from the 60’s

AMF Wedge 5 speed Cleaning Up Nice

Yea that seems to be my story as far as bikes go. You seem to regret the ones you get rid of half the time. I’m not too big into the muscle bikes so I will probably be posting this one and the solid lime green one for sale soon. And yep,…will probably regret it down the road. 🤣😂
