Hey Northeast Indiana friends- if anyone sees this bike, my '59 Schwinn Hornet (for sale, parts, or someone just cruising) it was stolen from my Fort Wayne storage unit. Appreciate the eyes...
If you know of any local artists or maybe even welders I'm sure they'd take some stuff- around here people love wheels and sprockets- for art projects. Also maybe assemble a few bikes and advertise as lawn/garden bikes... but I have to agree with most on here, head to the scrap yard. Better a...
I'd like to find a set of good American made middleweight tires- 26x1.75. (whitewall or black)I found some Bridgstone's on eBay, for a total of $55 (including shipping)
I'd like to see if there's any cheeper options, and from a fellow caber. Get at me if you have anything... For my AMF Shelby...
Hi- unfortunately life issues are making me sell my Silver King. It's a great looking bike, but it is missing a few of the goodies. Not original seat, not original fender, not original grips, not original wheels (New Departure)
. Seat post has some funky thing going on with it...
Ron was such a good guy- always a good conversation (sometimes one sided, he couldn't hear for nothing! 😆) Always a beer waiting for me when I'd stop by. Loved his "stuff".
Sad new about my friend Ron Walters from Fort Wayne, IN- he passed a few days a go. If you were in to bikes around NE Indiana/NW Ohio, you probably knew him. Loved his bikes, Buicks, and neon signs/clocks (as well as anything else you could collect)... Over half my bike collection is from him...
Anyone interested in this Schwinn scripted 3 speed shifter? Trigger shifts smooth. Really good chrome on the top, rust should clean up on underside. Asking $20 + the ride. Thanks!
Anyone interested in the late '30's Schwinn gals hanging tank? Pretty crusty. Awesome horn button. Haven't tried the horn, but I'm guessing it needs work. Asking $50 + the ride.
Good Morning Cabers!
Just a question- anyone know of any spring (2022, if we make it...) rides, Chicago area? I went on a big ride a few years ago and had a great time, but lost all my contacts when I got rid of my facebook.
Chicago/Indy/Lake Michigan area?
Thanks in advance!
~Nick
I have a couple of these rear racks- I know one is in good shape, same color with reflectors. I can look and send pic if interested. I can also check the pedals- i have this same bike, but bought it for the chain ring...
Apparently this guy is still at it on Instagram- he tried to friend me, but I denied the request after I saw another person I follow say one of his bikes was on this guys page and he's trying to sell it... just an fyi.
Swapped out the Chinese made tires with some NOS Sears Allstate tires- just didn't seem right with the 48 star flag on the back to have something other than US made on my '48ish Schwinn...
Should be a date stamped on the rear hub- Sturmey Archer 3 speed (more than likely) and most likely made by Raleigh. They had several brands under their umbrella. Not really worth a lot, but could be cleaned up and ridden with a little elbow grease. Could be a decent rider...
