Here is a good visual.
The red one is my 45 and you can see it fits easily in the 1/8 slot on my steel gauge.
The black one is my 52 phantom and it wont even go in the 10 gauge spot.
Definite difference:
Yeah kinda bummed about that…it seems to be literally the only piece of factory hardware missing on this dang thing. Otherwise it has every single piece of original hardware.
I dont pick up many DXs but the early Schwinn Majestic badge on this thing called to me so home it came.
Yep, no worries thats all i was getting at. Mine has the closer EF joints and the serial that is dancing right near others that have been said to be 45s so i can say it COULD be one.
Also the original families story of who had it and the time period it also fits.
🤘
All things noted: so we cant really say mine ISNT a 45 considering they are a bit all over the place. Also considering there is even one example of one like mine, it lends reason that mine could be a 45 model at the end of the day or we would have to say the other one isnt as well.
If that...
Ok Im interested because I checked every feature against other bikes in this thread folks called 45's and read the thread back to front probably 3-4 times so far.
There are other bikes in this thread and elsewhere on the site being called 45's with the later features but instead of calling them...
I would also point out that the vast majority of the "45" in this thread have truss rods so why is it that mine having them is making it definitively NOT a 45.
Also this rack is a later added item as its generic bike store style. This bike also had no light on the fender either...
I will also...
The issue is, its been mentioned in this thread that another B8 serial number was a 45 as well as a hand full of other B serial number at or close to mine mentioned as being 45's. Why would this serial number being as close to or nearly the same as the others be any different.
Picked up what i believe to be another 45 last night from the original owners family and i figured i should add it to this thread for the sake of it.
B84 serial number
Early style Schwinn Majestic badge
EF joints up against the BB

One repaint over the original dark maroon with...
Thats beautiful man....I love it just like it is. Sadly Ive pretty much given up hope of ever owning one unless I find one in a barn or trash dump etc. The bike community at this point has financially gate-kept these types of bikes now to the point where normal, middle-class guys like me stand...
Hey I know that dude. Lol
Yeah ive been building minitrucks since around 94/95 at this point so it just feels like its always been my "thing". Minitrucks and bicycles....I think this would be the 5th or 6th show-style minitruck Ive built at this point but I always wanted an SUV so when this...
Lol...Ive got a handful of crusty slammed cruisers under my belt already. This one is a fancy-schmancy one and will be fully painted and nice.
Here is an older picture from last year right after I finished the air suspension.
I tore it back down a few months ago, cut and raised the front...
Lol You guys are funny.
Im still around but thanks for asking!
Yeah like Paul said, Im knee deep in alot of heavy fabrication on my show truck and working on a 79 Toyota Corona on the side so the bikes kinda had to take a back seat until at least until March. Bikes are still safe and sound...
Price lowered, 250 shipped for both so it ends up being a pretty good price for original steel. Hit me up, lets get these a new home.
Repainted deluxe Jag tank (notches for cables). Did a ton of work to repaint both and a careless unattended dog scratched the paint on both and i just lost...
Well...cant have what you want without sacrifice. So here goes...
I have 4 Cycle Trucks currently and they are major space hogs so im offering up the one i havent grown attached to yet.
Original Houston post office delivery truck, original logos, patina and everything. Untouched and unmodified...
Was planning on getting to this one eventually but too many other things going on and im trying to land something else.
1955 Corvette, original westwind tires, maybe not perfect tires but they are there.
Missing ONE pedal.
Paint is decent but ive only ever wiped it down so it may clean up...
I understand that, life is funny like that. One minute you’re dating the hottest girl in town, the next minute an even hotter girls enters the room. Lol
Merry Christmas to you guys as well!
O yeah....a pretty standard prewar Cycle Truck offering and a nice and crusty one too! Baked to perfection.
Alot of the time the post office will add small lengths of bar stock to the drop stand to make it automatically tip into place but I dont see a stand with this one.
Reducing to try: Too much lower and im just being dumb. Already feel its the cheapest Green Phantom ive seen around.
Well...the time has come. (I know i know) I have another opportunity so its time to let this ones story continue.
Badged BF Goodrich and has been in Houston is entire life and...
Since this kinda turned into a Racer thread, here is the OG black one i have laying around. It has a cool look to it being black but still not my style
I have a really solid, original black Racer up for sale local for $100 with zero bites in a month or two if that gives you any indication of the value. Really cool bike though....
Side note: I think its a very cool bike and still has alot of vintage flavor and should be worth more honestly but...
If you dont plan on riding them regularly or even semi-regularly, I would certainly keep the tires off the ground hung up. Other than that, as long as your basement is not exposed to the elements, you should be fine. If we're talking REALLY long term, maybe remove the tires and store them in...
I have alot of crazy stories but here is the one about my 45 CWC.
So back around Thanksgiving 2018 my sister, in Austin, decided she wanted to host Thanksgiving. My family and I packed up and headed out to make the 2.5-3 hour drive. Im a picker by nature so my neck is ALWAYS moving when i...
I have a buddy who has a contract to clean and replace the bikes at the plants around here in Houston and they all look identical to this one, same color, same setup etc. They're good to make customs out of....
