I'm thinking about putting a suspension fork on my old MB (not a high-dollar bike). I found this, but can't find a review on it anywhere. Is anyone here using this fork? Your thoughts...
As the owner of "the other bike on eBay", I'd like to help out with future research if I can. As I am confidant that Mr. Orwin Wilhite's bicycle is about as true a specimen as you may find, I'll take detailed pictures of any and all points on the bike and add them to my photo album. Just let...
100% original...right down to the tires! The man I bought it from has the original receipt issued by the government when sold to his father. The tubes are holding air. I even have the tool bag. Serial #MG94023
I'm seriously considering parting with it.

I found 270mm spokes for my latest TruSport find on amazon.com. They set me back thirty seven dollars and some change and they arrived in my mailbox in a matter of days. They're stainless steel...that's good and bad. The 1937 wheels were not built with SS spokes, but I won't be polishing them...
A "TruSport" from Philadelphia PA
Yeah...It's a Reflector...But how can you NOT like it?
It has New Departure hubs, Michigan "Safety Tread" tires made in West Germany, "Sweetheart" Skip Tooth sprocket, and a basket from Dennis Michael Industries.
Any Idea who...
Be aware, WATER TRANSFER Decals DO NOT stick to Powder Coating. Well, they do, but they don't STAY.
Not all powder coaters have the finesse to two-tone, it comes with experience. My powder coater has done a total of 3 bikes and a tricycle for me all a solid color. He can do a...
Here's my latest project. 24 1/2 inch (62cm) frame.
It has Pelissier hubs, Sugio Mighty Competition crankset, Mafac brakes, Suntour Cyclone derailleurs, Fiamme neck (Italian), and Cinelli handlebars (also Italian).
It also has one ugly, but all original paint job. I'm torn between...
Here it is....finished! I received the wheels as a Christmas present. I call it "Painted Black" because, well, I had it powder coated black. I hope Charlie, Ronnie, Keith and Mick approve!!

If you're interested, I have a friend that dabbles in leatherwork who recovered my seat. I'm sure he would come up with something you would like that would not be a compromise to your bike's value.
My take on this...for what it's worth. Clean up/restore/repaint the bike as you see fit. Assemble said bike, and ride it! Keep an eye on this place, RatRodBikes, ebay, CraigsList, etc., etc., and add the parts as you acquire them. I believe that the more time you spend riding your bike and...
It's your breath...you need to go brush your teeth!
HaHaHa!!! Sorry, I couldn't help it! Just Kidding!
(Although I am surprised nobody put it out there earlier!)
Thanks for the info PCHiggin.
Let the record show that there is indeed Canary Yellow paint inside the frame, like inside the crankcase...it was a factory color. I've made up my mind on the new color scheme for this ride. I'll not let on, but I think it's going to be a hit.....we'll see!!
I was in Mission Beach California in July. The boardwalk had lots of folks riding all sorts of bicycles. I told my co-workers that I would sure like to find an old cruiser to fix up. Lo and behold just two weeks later my wife buys just such a bike at a church fundraiser auction. Her...
Thanks mre.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume that the number found on the neck (HC0720625) is telling us that SOMETHING happened on 72/06/25...June 25, 1972......the completion of the weld-up maybe. If someone can shed more light, or shoot down my assumptions, I'm all ears. I...
I just got my hands on this "thing".....any help appreciated! On the bottom of the front crankcase is the number 1030. On the back where the axle meets the frame are these numbers:
1071014
2650
or......
1:071014
2650
or......
1:C71014
2650
The number looks "most" like the last...
...but I hope some of you like it as much as I do! I just got it back from the painter...more pictures and the story to follow soon.
I know, I know. I need to get the seat post clamp replaced for the sake of the luggage rack. I'll pick one up tomorrow.
