I picked up this real nice Straight bar skip tooth Schwinn yesterday, but I'm having trouble figuring out what year its from and what model it is
Thanks a lot!
Can anyone identify this tandem? Its been painted over, and it doesn’t have the stock wheels anymore, it fits 26” wheels, it has underside cable routing for what i assume is a 3 speed hub and a built in kickstand.
And yes, it has been changed to a tandem for 1.
Hey, i got this cool Skyway in a trade for my 1967 Schwinn Varsity. Anybody know anything about this bike? It has a Shimano 333 hub and a Shimano Stick Shift shifter. Thanks!
So, my 1965 Breeze is making a weird clicking sound when i pedal. i just did the crank bearings 2 days ago, could water have possibly gotten in when i rode in the rain yesterday? that's the only thing i could think of. its fully tight. the bearings are in amazing shape.
thanks,
-Adam G.
so, i have this 1967 Mens Varsity 10 speed. it needs tubes, rimstrips, tires and cables. how much do you think it is worth? it is fairly clean, and the rims are true of what i can tell.
thanks,
-Adam G
Hi, i was riding my 65 Breeze down a hill and around 20-30 mph the hub "cuts out"
Is it just wear or something? Or can the hub not keep up with the speed?
I have put probably 500-600 miles on the hub and i just greased it.
i was just riding along on my 65 Breeze, then i see this, almost brand new other than a few scratches, Next Avalon CS step through on the side of the road, and the owner asked me, "you want it?" i said sure and they just gave it to me.
it's got that weird mini rear shock, i don't have any...
so i just got my 1965 breeze with the Bendix 2 speed yellow band back out for spring and the rear wheel has a wobble, the bike brakes and shifts fine. how do i fix this?
thanks,
-Adam G.
i picked up a 1967 schwinn varsity yesterday and i was wondering if Sky Blue was a less common color on the men's ones
(i haven't taken any pictures of it yet)
just out of curiosity i'm wondering who else nicknames their bikes, and what.
mine are
1953 Huffy Mainliner: "Ol' Blue"
1965 Schwinn Breeze: "The Old Breezer"
2015 Huffy Nel Lusso: "Big Nellie"
i really need some new tires for my 65 breeze, the rear tire is literally on the verge of exploding.
trying to find black ones for like 15$-16$ but their like 18$-20$ on amazon and ebay.
thanks, Adam G.
ok thanks, i'm probably gonna do a mini restoration on it. Get all the rust off the rims, new decals, maybe replace the ancient chain(maybe original) and the 51 year old rear tire(both tires are old the backs just in bad shape, this thing is so original)
i'm thinking of getting a reproduction decal for my '65 breeze's chainguard, the "Schwinn" is very faded and hard to read. But my dad tells me it wont look right, I mean, i've gotten the thing so shiny it looks new.
that's what the reproduction decal looks like.
looking for a bad shape vintage mens Schwinn or huffy bike, like rusty, I got an idea for a project.
something cheap, doesn't matter, just need the frame, fork, bars, crank and rear rim.
one pretty much like this, just with the normal kickstand
These things seem kinda rare to me, the ones with the "Mainliner" Headbadge. Ive only ever seen 2 others out there, and one was painted.
Ive also found very little information on them.
