This steerer is 7 5/16 or 185mm. If yours is a bit longer you could ad a washer under the top nut. Or cut it down more. I do have a thread die at the shop if they need to be extended a bit to make everything fit.

Im not sure. The top of the steerer was damaged, so it was cut down and re-threaded. I was told the headtube on ladies or girls Columbias are much longer than mens to accommodate the step through shape.

The method I prefer is almost the same. But involves lacing all the heads up spokes starting with the drive side first, then you can lace all the trailing heads down spokes weaving the heads up over the heads down on the final cross (usually 3x on 32 and 36 hole rims). As with anything there...

Thanks guys! I'll give this a shot. I'm not necessarily looking for a shine. I just happen to have a bunch of Proofide on hand.

Has anyone used Brooks Proofide on a rubberized saddle? I know its spectacular on leather, but I'm curious what the results would be like on a dull Dunlop. Thanks!
