Another of the unique characteristics built into the Rossin Ghibli was the cables passing through the cast bottom bracket housing. I think the facts on the frame are bearing out the fame is a Rossin Ghibli

The seat lug was also cast as you can tell it is not stamped

This casting was only used on this style of bike exclusively.

Look at the Bottom bracket and you will see the casting.

It appears the bike is from 1988 as that is when they used the exclusive cast lugs on the frames

Almost looks like it is a 1988 Ghibli as that is the only frame that uses the cast lugs. It also is the only frame to use the particular green paint that shows through the red paint.

1988 Rossin RG 5900 Ghibli Record C as this was the only frame using the cast lugs. thank you members for the insight on this very nice rare bike ...Looks like I will now look for the missing parts to return this bike to it former glory.

I had this bike dropped off as they did not need it as they bought 3 new bikes from...ahhhm yea Wal Mart..here is the 1st as you can see there is some tree sap on this pic it was covering the whole bike..........I do not think it came out so bad. t

Needing a 1971 Schwinn Manta ray fender 5 speed

I have now finished up the Violet 1977 Le Tour and it now has all of the correct parts on it. Cleaned up and rides like new.

I have just received this former yard art bicycle. Anyone have an Idea on the year serial number G78235 found on the bottom crank hosing. The rear drop outs face to the rear and the tensioning bolts come in from the front.Any help would be appreciative ..It is not for sale ....I know the grips...

G78235 Former yard art ..got it for free from the list I take it as a 39 with the chain guard it has. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I love them .The value is in the longevity and how rugged they are.They last and still look good after 40+ years. Nothing made today will even come close for the same price given inflation that these were purchased for. Most Wal Mart bikes are lucky to last 4 years at most .

I enjoy my 1977 Lime green Varsity; durable and even survived a bath in Asphalt sealant for 4 years ..I do not think it looks all that bad for living such a hard life.
