Asked the Playter to slap some copper on and hand it back... The copper was polished Before the nerving... The plater then Nickel And chromed... The tooling does not Hurt the finish and the nerling is deep in the soft copper....

The tool is a “tinsmith”, but the nurling wheels were made in House.... Oil hardening steel.... The top wheel Nurling is Narrow for S 2 rims.... The bottom is slightly wider for S7 rims...

The chroming process usually destroys the knurling...

We all know the S2 is becoming increasingly harder to find in good shape... And the hoarders that have them are not giving them up... So if you’re trying to build a 20 inch Center stamped S2 wheel bike, Well.... Check out the pics...

After 64 persons changed their seat And Sissy bar design... I myself have not seen a stamped persons sissy bar after 64 ... they are not aftermarket ... very sturdy great Chrome ... very rare ....

You have to remember the early day Schwinn dealership was small , and territorial ,... when I was young Broward Schwinn was huge with floor space for 30 Bikes or More... of which eight were stingrays flying off the show room floor ... all different colors ... and when you own a franchise...

you could buy a blue band over the counter in a box ..... they would gladly lace it up for you ....

Schwinn and Bendix were in bed long before the stingray but the blue band is specifically geared and produced for the 20 inch bike in 1965 .... mostly a dealer item ..

Fiz...... being a Fort Lauderdale rat , I wanted to go to this show ... and the 5 Hour Drive was not that big a deal ...But there was no contact phone number available ... tried to contact the hosting Boy Scout troop and left messages but no reply’s ... maybe a hosting hotel or someone to talk...
