@koolbikes I took a few pictures. I wasn't going to post them but since you asked, see below. I didn't get any inside the building. My first time there. I talked to another CABE member who said there was twice as many people there last year. As Jammer said, very small show. Lasted about 2 1/2...
Up for sale is a 1983 Ross Mt. Hood. Decent shape. Rides great and shifts through all the gears.
$150 OBO. Cash only. No shipping, pick up only. I would be willing to travel about an hour from my location which would put it in the the South Bend, Fort Wayne, or Kokomo, Indiana region.
Time to find this one a new home. I believe it is a 1952 (A1351468). Patina and colors are fantastic. Incorrect parts include rims (Schwinn S2’s from the same era, I have the originals but they are roached), pedals, and Delta fender light. Not sure about the seat. Horn works, light for show...
All right...conflicting internet info folks. Can anyone verify if this has already happened or is actually on March 24th?

Blown away by the prices you are getting for these bikes. Location must be key. All three Huffy's would end up at the scrap yard in my neck of the woods.
Thanks everyone for all the info. Great advice given. I compile it and send it along.
Thanks for sending this link along. I remembered it as soon as I started reading it. Good info in it as well.
I volunteered at a local bike co-op this week and had an interesting conversation with one of the other volunteers regarding the mass of bikes that have been gifted to them over the years. The co-op is in the process of tearing down and scrapping close to one hundred “walmart” bikes that are...
Not really next level built but the opposite, minimalist route on this Collegiate. Yellow band two speed and a battery operated headlight. Simple, clean and a great color. Great every day rider.
Great bike. Super clean. Your assessment seems accurate. I thought the chainring looked familiar and it turns out it matches the chainring on my Cycle Pro Custom 5 Cruiser. I thought I read somewhere the Cycle Pro's had a Japanese connection as well.
More info...
Pedal Markings - couldn't read anything except for the diamond shape. Not knowledgable enough to know what that means.
Brake caliper - Enwell
Rims - Araya...curious as to what the "w/o" stands for.
Front hub - U 752
Didn't check backside of chainwheel for any markings...
Thanks for all the great info. I didn't have time today to look for more markings/details. I'll try tomorrow. The chainring definitely resembles Huffy. And the rear rack is completely different than the one in the advertisement. Larger radius of curvature on the back end and bends upward to...
Info on these appears to be scarce. I understand the serial numbers are of little help. Looks like two different numbers have been stamped. 505 would be the manufacturer I believe (502 Murray?). Catalog ad helps but don't know the year. Anyone know the manufacturer or the year?
Needed this like a hole in the head. But a rare live auction and chrome frame conspired and I could not resist. Purchased January 1st, 2024. Anyone else pick up a bike on the 1st day of the New Year?
I paid $10 for mine at a thrift shop eight years ago. Bought new tires, added a comfort seat & grips, and chrome bars as the bars that were on it were an anodized aluminum. A great ride and the lightest bike I own. Unfortunately, these aren't worth much.
Trying to decide on the next full rebuild. So in the meantime, I'm doing some miscellaneous projects. First a rear rack for the mid 80's pink cruiser I just finished. I wanted a black rack so I decided to take one I already had and paint it black. I'll finish it up and install in the spring...
Looks fantastic. My cleaner of choice lately has been Dawn Powerwash. Love this stuff. Definitely take down the dirt first and then focus on paint. Regarding how far to go, I had the same question on a Stingray this past summer. The surface will never be smooth and if you try, you'll start...
Same as everyone else. I've purchased multiple items (BMX parts and middle weight tires) and had great experiences. Shipping has always been really fast. I've always purchased direct from their site.
Basic question...will a five speed wheel set fit on a mid to late 80's Schwinn single speed cruiser frame? My hunch is it will but the drop out's will need to be spread out quite a bit.
I can verify the Mohegia smaller size. I put them on my Schwinn Cruiser and noticed it immediately. Below is the measurement. Well under the 2.125 width. Irritating.
No problem. Appreciate the encouragement. The way I look at it is the only way to learn anything is to jump in and do it. You'll probably screw something up the first time you do anything but that's how you learn!
