Hi I'm looking for an older Bike Frame, from at least the 60s. A Schwinn or JC Higgins or whatever. Building a trike and I have a gobby trike conversion rear.
Would like a seat and cranks if possible.
Thanks
OK for sale my 34 Schwinn. I love the bike but I found a truck I have to have so its gotta go.
Im gonna give the best info I can on it. Im far from a bike expert.
Going off info from the gurus here ive ascertained its a 1934 Schwinn. A tall frame bike.
The fenders and chain guard are not...
I'll have to look closer at my pile of parts. The guy sending me the shoe I need is an old timer on here it seems pretty sure he's sending the correct part.
K. I've got a 1936 rear wheel with a Morrow hub. When I went to pedal it would slip, and had pretty bad braking.
I took it apart and didn't find anything obviously amiss.
I broke the brake shoe putting it back together but that's another matter.
Anyway what im wondering is, the shoe obviously...
Any way you could send a link to the forum for servicing? I'll snap a pic of the broken piece.
I found a pretty nice older non skip tooth at an estate sale today, but id have to put in a non skip crank and sprocket im assuming and that would just way take away from the bike in my opinion.
So hey cabe dudes im back.
So when I ride the Schwinn it has an issue of the hub not always engaging when you first start to pedal. Occasionally it does but not much. And it sucks to go to pedal and have the crank spin and sit there.
So I pulled the rear hub apart. Wondering if you guys have any...
I figured the fenders weren't stock being not nearly as faded as the rest of the bike. The fact that they laced them to keep girls skirts out is way intersting very cool.
That's awesome. It rides killer, doesn't like feel heavy like it is. Without the coaster brake arm the hub slips sometimes and it gets annoying. Got it out today, went for a ride and remembered, oh yeah, this needs fixed. And here I am with the skinny on it finally. Cool
I was under the impression it was a 39 Hawthorne. But I looked up the numbers on the rear hub and figured out its from 1936 so it has me wondering. The serial number is 563854. It has a locking headstock if that helps.
