I too agree it could potentially be the same bike. I wonder if when the gal sat up she felt bad for bending the rear rack 🤣 Kidding aside, even the kickstand seems to have the same angle on the bike! Beautiful bike and great photo to go with it!
I have been looking for a Phantom since I started this hobby and one found me! Anyway, I am trying to take apart to clean and can’t get the front wheel off. Is the right side of the springer fork not supposed to have the wheel slide out? And if this is the case how do I get the wheel off without...
Thanks for the feedback! I was worried about the front wheel replacement. Most likely some type of collision and hopefully didn’t damage anything important!
So I am needing some help before poppin’ on this as it seems to be quite an investment. This is posted in the local Craigslist. Pretty certain not 1945 but as far as originality and completeness is it worth it? Thanks for your help...

Could it be an American? Didn’t Corvette frames all have rear caliper brake bracket regardless of gearing? Also the white decal on the seat tube could be that of an America.
Museums are getting pretty darn picky on what they let in...maybe Craigslist should follow suit

So went this morning to check it out and was pretty excited about scoring my first Phantom and based on the SN it’s a 1955. I started digging in and nothing is left on this bike except the frame and forks and the forks were cracked! He was asking $150. Even though I wanted this to work out, I...
Here’s my 46 BF Goodrich Streamliner. Similar details as you described except it has tubular rims without knurls. I got it in similar condition but all the decals were intact. Scrubbed it with mild soap and water, rubbing compound, then wax.
