These are some pictures of my first new bike. A Columbia and I’m guessing here a Playbike. The pictures were taken in the early 70’s. I’d guess it to be about a 1967??? I painted it yellow🤢🤮 It was stolen twice. I only got it back once.
I recently purchased a 1949 Columbia with a locking springer fork. When I lock the fork I can remove the key. When it’s unlocked the key won’t come out. I’ve tried in many different positions to remove the key but no luck. Any suggestions? Remove it and try cleaning?
My second question is...
I scored this 52 or 53 Columbia at an estate sale today. The rims are toast. The worst I’ve ever seen! So I am looking for some replacements. Surprisingly with rims this bad the rest of the bicycle is in real nice shape. With the exception of the seat cover. It will clean up very nice.
If...
I’m going to call this one finished. Sorry for only one picture but it’s -7 degrees with snow on the ground. This bike was yard art down by a river for about ten years. It was in a backyard so few knew the bike existed. A friend spotted it for me.
I have an 1896 Columbus Buggy built bicycle that the seat needs new caning. I plan on covering the caning with the original padded leather. If you know someone capable of doing this please pass on their contact information.
Thank you!
I need the following parts for a 1939 Schwinn Motorbike. I’m looking for original type fasteners. However if I can’t get an original clamp for the rack I’ll take one that works till I can find an original.

I picked this Columbus Buggy bicycle up today. Made in Columbus Ohio. Any information that you can share would be greatly appreciated! Yes, the bell works.
This cool old racing bike was brought to our Gateway Coasters show today. He bought it a couple of months ago at an estate sale so doesn’t know any history on the bike. There are no holes for a headbadge. Some or the components say made in England like in the picture of the crank arm.
What...
I have a Japanese made Miyata Lemans Course 12 speed that I bought new in about 1982 when I was a young Marine stationed on Okinawa. It is in very nice original condition including the tires. I have been unable to find little if anything about it online. It possibly might be the only one in the...
I’ll just leave these photos taken yesterday at the Vietnam wall in Perryville Missouri. There is almost 60,000 names on the wall.
Enjoy Memorial Day weekend but respect the reason we have Memorial Day.
I picked up this cool hand painted and customized chain guard and five gallon oil can yesterday. Has anyone ever tried giving one of these oil cans an oxilic acid bath?

This is a picture of my brother on my fenderless Five Speed. I’m guessing it to be a 1971 or 1972. What do you knowledgeable people think? I sold it to a friend of mines younger brother. I inquired about it twenty years ago. His mother had just sold it at a yard sale three months before I asked.
I have what I believe to be a 1939 Schwinn American Flyer. The Crank is a Wald so no help there. There is not a seat post clamp as are all the others that I have found, but a through the frame seat post binder bolt. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Thanks in advance!
It is not for sale.
I picked this Schwinn Motorbike up today. It has been stored out in the weather for years. It is missing some hardware and some of the hardware is incorrect. It is very rusty and crusty.
I was at the Straford Air and Space Muesum in Weatherford Oklahoma today. This hub was part of their launch system. Note this is a recreation of their original Flyer.
I was recently asked about these two bikes. The Tank bike has an American Flyer head badge on it. I’ve never seen anything like the commercial bike. Both are very cool. I don’t know if they are for sale yet.
I posted pictures of the shape this bike was in when I bought it from the original owner in about July. The black and white photo was taken the day he got it for a birthday present. It weighs 44 pounds. Probably more than he weighed when he was riding it. It's cool that he not only hung onto the...
The original owner that I purchased this 1952 Huffy Convertible from a few weeks ago delivered on his promise to send me a picture of him with the bike when it was new. He was four at the time. As a bonus his sister is in the photo with her Monark Holiday.
The Huffy even came with the...
I have been trying to buy this I believe 1953 Huffy Convertible for a couple of years. Persistent paid off today. I bought it from the original owner. He got it in 1953 for his birthday. It even came with the original training wheels.
Any information that you have on these bikes please share.
Part of the package deal on the 1939 Monark Airman included these NOS Carlisle tires. Maybe at one time they were intended for the Monark. Can someone please tell me how to read the production date on these two tires. Thanks. They are not for sale.
My Friend was driving through his neighborhood when he noticed the family was cleaning out the home of an elderly neighbor who had passed away. He noticed a balloon tire bike with a tank sitting in the front yard. After thinking about it for a couple of minutes he pulled a u-turn and went back...
1939 Monark Airman in as found condition. The information I have been given says this is one of 4 or 5 1939 Airmans known to have survived. It has suspension front and rear! I have been told this is the most complete and in the best shape out of all of them. Making it as rare as hens teeth to...
A friend of mine recently purchased this very nice Monark Airman that looks to have an unusual rear suspension. The tires hold air and he took it for a ride. I have not been able to find any information for him. Please tell me your observations and share your knowledge.
Thank you in advance.
I just finished this Schwinn Racer that was born on April 5, 1963. It sold new for $56.95. That’s $473.37 in today’s dollars.
The two speed was bound up and would barely turn. I had to soak it just to get it apart. I thought it was toast, but it works fine now.
I just purchased this 34-36 Iver Johnson that I know nothing about. There are several things that are not correct, but I’m curious to learn all of what’s not correct.
Does Park Tools make a tool to remove the crank arm nut? If not does anyone have one for sale? The nut is tight but there is...
I received these parts today and would appreciate any help I can get identifying them and the year bike they go on. Thank you in advance!
1. The black tank has penciled inside 1949 Columbia Coffin tank. Is this accurate?
I need a left-hand shaft/axle for a Torrington #8 pedal to complete my 1946 Schwinn DX build.
Length of shaft 5 7/16
Half inch diameter at the threads
Length of the block is just under 4 inches at 3 13/16
I would like to just buy just a shaft but will buy a whole pedal if needed. Please make...
I have a 1946 Schwinn that I need a few spoke nipples for. Please help! I know many of you probably have some laying around that I can put to good use. I only need six but will buy one at a time if I need too. It is 3/4 of an inch long and has two flats. Thanks in advance for your help!
I have a 1946 Schwinn skiptooth chain that I want to remove for intense cleaning and to enable me to clean the frame without it in the way. In the past, I have taken my bikes to a bike store and they do this for me at no cost. Then it requires another trip there to put it back together. I...
This 1952 Schwinn was delivered to my house yesterday. It looks to be a very clean original bike to me. It has the seldom seen Leacock Sporting Goods St. Louis headbadge. Their Jupiter model.
What can anybody tell me about these three bikes. Ones a Monark. I’m not sure about the other two. They’re in a friends attic above his garage. He would like to sell them. I told him I would get as much information as I could on them and a ballpark figure on value. Thanks for any help you can...
A friend asked for my help in identifying this bike. His information he got with the picture says it's an English Touring bike. I would like to see if any of you English bike collectors can shed some light on these pictures taken in 1937. Thanks for your help in advance!
