Schwinn Fiesta
G113339
For some reason, it came up as a 1950, but that sure ain't right - Fiesta were from 62-68!
Found it:
It's a g4... so it's a 1964! Still awesome
If you want Wal-Mart stuff, get it from Wal-Mart! If you want a bike not built by the door greeter, go to the pros, at a bike shop! Wal-Mart has driven so many small, local shops out!
I think we only have one cycle shop left in my town... then there's Wal-Mart! Sadly, it's almost a ghost town...
1964 Typhoon (26")
(had to get Wal-Mart grips at the time, but other than that, it's original)
The "Ape Hangers" and banana seat add cool factor to yours! Someone was into rodding their bikes!
Got it at an auction awhile back. Still has the original "Radiant Blue" paint. Now my daily rider. I'm guessing that the previous owner had a mirror (?) and the base is all that's left... (works great for my flag ) !
Very powerful -
Him riding it one last time on memory lane before you left with the bike.
He obviously knew that you were going to appreciate its value. Not just money wise, but sentimental value.
Enjoy your new ride!
The one on the left that has a lighter red "tint" to it. I'm saying that is the original.
Looking at the lens of the reflector, the left one has little "dots" that makes up the reflective surface.
The one on the right is a reproduction. Its reflective surface has "sideways plumbob" (if that...
I've seen videos on YouTube of Walmart bikes vs bike shop bikes. These bikes (BMX bikes to be exact) were both put thru abusive testing and (surprise, surprise) the Walmart bike was the first one to start breaking! Needless to say, the testing continued, until the Walmart bike became 100%...
This is the best of the mystery letter I could get. It almost looks like the first letter was painted over on purpose. Any idea of how to remove the extra paint - without scratching what little of the letter is there. I don't have a sand blaster.
Looked EVERYWHERE (L. Rear axle nut slot & under crank case) and can NOT find a serial number of this bike. Any idea of what year this is (also, any other place that may have the serial number) ? Thank you.
Probably my favorite bike to ride! The rear reflector is missing but that's the only part. I need to get the chain guard repainted, so the "Schwinn American Deluxe" shows up too.
American Deluxe are wonderful bikes to ride. I think that you'll enjoy yours.
I've been collecting Schwinn bikes only since then. So much that I've become known as "Schwinn Man" at the auction. My latest addition is a 1969 Schwinn Breeze for just $10. Just needs some cleaning and chain oil and it'll be ready to go.
Oops! Looks like my message part didn't get thru. Never tried this on my phone before.
Looking for more information about this bike.
I was just out at an antique/junk store and saw this beauty!
I don't know much about Sears bikes, but I do know that Sears is gone - all Sears bikes are...
You can get a gem or garbage at an auction. You just got to know what to look for (still learning myself).
This was how I got my 1962 Schwinn American De Luxe - at an auction. I love it plus at $25, you can't beat that!
Unfortunately, I also got a 1963 Huffy F-85 at a prior auction $35...
Dunno what to make of it.
I put in brand-spanking-new batteries (size D-cell) and tried the switch... nothing.
I waited for dark and (using a 9-volt battery) tried the light bulb... it works fine, though I'm not sure just how long I will be seeing spots!
I'm not sure if my headlight is...
Regulations require that a photo of the bike's serial number (plus a few full body pics) be taken and uploaded to the computer, in case of theft. I have done it with every bike I've ever had. Never can be too careful!
Beyond that, I don't do anything (dunno what else I can do)!
I prefer going to auctions, where I can SEE the bike beforehand and decide if it'll be a money pit to fix up. Most of the bikes I have just needed tubes and some bike oil, but that's was it. The worst bike - bearings needing to be repacked.
My NEWEST member of the collection (just got the...
Soo...
I got my (blue) bike at an auction (Saturday) and have been working on it. I have to get a lightbulb for the headlight and a (2 inch pie plate) rear reflector.
Just wanted to know if anyone has/had a wiring guide for it. I pushed the button and got nothing. I tried putting in a new...
Ok, here's the situation -
Tomorrow I'm going to an auction and they have two bikes up for sale (didn't have my phone with me so no pics). Sorry. :(
One is a "Free Spirit" from Sears. It has a (sticker) license plate from Illinois on it too.
The other bike is a Raleigh (sadly I dunno what...
Just a little update -
SCORE!! :) I was able to get the bike for $30! I just had to wait for 7 and a half hours for it to come up (very last item), but as the saying goes - "all good things come to those who wait" !
Now comes the fun part - getting it running again! Definitely needs new...
