    My First BIANCHI...

Since the shades on celeste green vary on models and years I suggest just spraying the whole frame. Very interesting choice of paint container but I dig it.

CANCELED Bicycle Swap Meet Sunday March 22 Thompson CT / Former Dudley bike show

I just heard the show was called off but it came from the grape vine can Mike or Lou confirm the status ? Also not sure if we should live in fear hiding in the house for a potential cold we may or may not get.

Just finished Trek 720 EL Mustacho

The rear rack and bottle cages are not anodized but powder coated Bronze chrome to replicate an anodized finish. As for BB height after the wheel swap lets a technical question I don't have an answer for. The original Huret derailleurs on this I believe were the titanium Duopar long cage rear...

Just finished Trek 720 EL Mustacho

I am from New England where this style ride of bike is hard to beat plus the looks you get that instant street cred.
  12. Mr.RED

Just finished Trek 720 EL Mustacho

Just finished bastardizing a beautiful 1984 Trek 720 touring bike into my own twisted idea of a dirt touring bike and I am totally in love with it. Inspired by Crust and Rivendell bikes but at a fraction of the cost well just ignore the fact of potential value of a complete original 1984 Trek...

    Is the hobby dying again?

I don't think the hobby is dying by any means its just taking a new direction. But then again I guess it depends on what style of bicycle you collect also. People that are saying the prices are high well we can thank shows like American Pickers, Pawn Stars, Storage wars cause now any Tom, Dick...

    Fenders For Raleigh Record

I am a fan of the Handsome brand of bicycle fenders they come in a variety of finishes.
  15. Mr.RED

    Raleigh Record?

I have a friend who was in the Boston bike industry in the 70's and 80's. The story behind the Raleigh Team Records or Record Team is Raleigh accidentally shipped 500 of the Team Records to Boston in the late 70's. The bike shops who received the bikes were suppose to ship them back but worked...

What is a vintage mountain bike

Vintage mountain bikes are making a come back in my opinion just because of the whole gravel grinder, bike packing craze in the bike industry. Older mountain bikes can easily be converted to suit, road, dirt, gravel, cross country, bike packing, touring, cruisers etc the options are almost...

Ciocc Designer 84 C40 with Campagnolo 50th Anniversary group

Sorry about the delay I just got around to taking some close up pictures of the pedals on the Ciocc. They are just greasy Super Record pedals I believe I am not a Campy expert but I think thats what they are. No gold dust caps and even the toe clips don't match the 50th ones. When I got the bike...

    Nishiki Linear 1987 Time Trial

Time trail aka funny bikes were popular like 7 years ago when the fixed gear trend was big. Problem is with these bikes being custom fitted and made for a specfic owner made them hard for re sale no matter the components, The fixed surge is over and time trial bikes belong on a Velodome not on...

Ciocc Designer 84 C40 with Campagnolo 50th Anniversary group

Since I work a full time job in the refinishing auto body world I did consider repainting the frame to make it totally perfect but tracking down original decals could be a problem. I have access to even remake the decals but figure I leave the bike alone to show its history and character...

Ciocc Designer 84 C40 with Campagnolo 50th Anniversary group

So a few weeks ago me and my father stumbled into a collection of vintage Italian bikes, vintage Treks, parts etc so I figure I share 1 of the gems out of that collection. I have Ciocc Designer 84 C40 with a Campagnolo 50th Anniversary groupo. The only item missing from the complete group is the...

From the Guv'nor Owners' Group FB Page

This looks like something built by Ascari bikes but I could be wrong. A very beautiful build.
  26. Mr.RED

    Carlton Competition

I wonder if this was a frameset only model because the parts seem to be all over the place . I bought the bike out of used bike shop where the owner said the customer had this built up in the 1970's. As for the yellow sticker on the seat tube that looks to be some sort of bicycle identification...
  27. Mr.RED

    Carlton Competition

Yes my guess is late 70's also the rear derailleur is marked 78 patent. I tried doing some research on this model but didn't find much info online. It looks to be on par with the US Raleigh Competitions but has the Gran Sport color scheme .
  28. Mr.RED

    Carlton Competition

    World Voyager in Kool Orange

Just finished rehabbing a 1973 Scwhinn World Voyager pretty much all original minus the seat, tires and brake pads. I had this bike down at the last Dudley CT swap but after a little bit of wax on and wax off I decided to keep it. The Kool orange is hard to beat.
  41. Mr.RED

    Raleigh Lenton Marque III, 1950

Very cool Raleigh for sure, I have never seen anything like this before from Raleigh.
  43. Mr.RED

    Daccordi Racing Track Bicycle

Time trail or Pursuit or Funny bicycles are a tough sell no matter what the components are since most frame styles like that are custom fitted for specific sized riders. Also to value a bike of that nature is tough since the market for old bikes is different in each state.
  44. Mr.RED
