I came across this Raleigh in the back of my parents garage. Complete and looks to be in good shape just needs to be gone over. Looking for $80 plus shipping though local pickup would be preferred.
Hi all,
I’ve decided to sell my 71 fury hardtop To get my son a car. It’s has a 360 engine, 727 torqueflite and 8 3/4 rear. Runs good but transmission slips. Looking for $3500 obo. Car is on Long Island N.Y. Charlie
Hi all,
I’ve got Schwinn s-7 wheels on my 57 schwinn and I’m getting a clunking noise as I ride the bike. Sounds like from the rear hub. I’ve taken it all apart, cleaned and regressed the bearings and oiled the discs. The clunking happens when I’m pedaling and stops when I’m coasting...
Hi all,
I finally dug this frame out of my parents garage and trying to figure out what year and model. The only bad thing I found was this rust hole in the back seat stay.
Charlie
Hi all! I been riding my 1920 Iver Johnson with s-7 wheels for almost two years now and about 80 miles to date. I enjoy riding it to do errands and with my daughter on her western flyer. I just finished building a rear wheel for it and found a front wheel to fit with tires and tubes. I had to...
Hi dasberger, thank you for the close up of your rims. Were all of the iver Johnson rims painted like this or did some of them come through as plain shellac ? Thanks Charlie
Hey Hemi426 nice Fury and truck. Here are a few pictures of my fury’s. My 1968 fury III and 1971 fury III hardtop. I’ve had the 68 for 16 years and the 71 for 8 years.
Hi all, just found out about a auction of bikes in Long Beach N.Y. is happening tomorrow morning. It starts at 8:00am with reviewing the bikes and the auction starts at 9:00 in front of city hall.
I have a 1984? Panasonic bike that I’m looking to sell. I’ve taken the seat and wheels minus the rear hub and spikes to use on my Columbia . It rode fine before I took it apart. $40 plus shipping or pickup. Charlie
I have a Armstrong bike that I was using for parts for my older bikes but discovered nothing except the seat would work. I’m looking to sell the bike if you are interested.
I’ve been riding my grandmothers Iver Johnson bike since I got the s-7 wheels and love it. We got a freebie Panama jack bike for my daughter but it seems to be a cross between men’s and women’s.
Thank you for the pictures they are going to help a lot. I can’t believe there are five attaching places for this guard. I’ll guess I will make brackets and drill some holes in the guard to make it work. I will get the correct lengths spokes to marry the new departure hub to a newer wheel.
Hi ivrjhnsn. Thank you for the pictures. I’m guessing I’m going to have make a bracket to go to the lower tube. And I see why there are two holes in the tube between the crank and the rear hub. Does that lower brace go to the kickstand? Would my bike have a drop stand or a kickstand?
I found a thread about the tires posted a while back and the person had said he had luck getting the 597 or 599 on. I wasn't going to buy tires for this bike, I thought I could use it for parts for the Iver or Columbia. I just wanted the sticker on the seat tube since it was a friends shop here...
I gutted the hub my grandfather put on this bike decades ago and noticed the large bearings in that one was a larger diameter than the ones in the hub off of the Iver. I put all of the guts in the hub and the bike rides fine now although I have no brakes.
Just finished making a rear wheel with new departure model a hub. The front wheel and the rear rim is from a Panasonic bike from the eighties with 27 inch wheels. The only problem I’m having is that the bearings loosen up as I ride it. I replaced the outer bearings in the sprocket since they...
I have a 28 inch metal wheel that was on the back of the Iver years ago. I've taken the hub out to lace to a newer set of wheels. I've decided to sell this since I'm probably not going to use it. It's rusty but is still solid. $60 plus shipping.
The head badge is a decal. The tires on the bike were made in Belgium and the size is 26 x 1.375. I've tried to put tires from an English three bike and I can't get the tire onto the rim. It's almost like the tire bead needs to stretch. I compared the original rim and the rim from an English...
