The seat that came with it was horrendous to sit on. I put an imitation Brooks style saddle on and it rocks! So much more enjoyable. I have been putting a few miles a day on it and having fun!

I had a rough, incomplete basketcase General that came from an auction back in the early '90s. I decided to do something with it. Painted with house paint with the original paint missing underneath it, I decided to use similar colors as my original paint Monarks. Not wanting to buy base coat...

Really great bicycles! I am also digging the motorcycles, Suzuki trials, doodle bugs, cushman's, etc. Must have been a great collection to see!!

Wow! Barracuda, thanks for finding and posting the pic! I bought this bike in '91 and that's the first time i've seen an advertisement for the correct model.

I'm not for sure, Alexander Winton made bikes from '90-1 to about '98-99 where he then focused solely on his automobile. The only one's I've seen to date are the double diamond design "safety frames".

Here is my model 17 Winton I've had for years. Took it out of storage so I could share it. Original paint and double gold pinstripes on each tube.
