Seats? Who needs a seat, I had an old Murray 3 speed with no brakes and only half a seat for .going to school bike back in the early 70's. Really fun bike till I finally found a seat a couple weeks later.
Yeah, that would be my guess, but I only have one prewar Elgin in my collection and don't know enough about them either. My oldest bike is a 1938 or 39 Hiawatha gals bike as I like to call them. I'm looking for some truss rods for this bike too. RideOn Robin.
I always just use to mount a license plate or reflector, but I 'very had a couple of these bikes and do believe it's for the rear rack. Nice Hiawaths bikes.
I just LOVE these COOOOL old Shelby built Hiawatha's. My first bike was a Murray built Hiawatha Cadet , so I have a real soft spot for these bikes. RideOn Alex.
Wow, haven't seen this in quite a few years. Me and my brothers used to do that to our bikes back in the day. You should put some on the rear chain stays then you'd have 3x the flapping power. Great idea Austin. RideOn.Mark.
Wow, since 1966? That was the first year I actually rode a Schwinn "Big boys bike". It was Hard rubber side walk bikes minus the side walks before that. RideOn. Mark.
I think the 1st bike is a Columbia or maybe a Rollfast bike worth maybe $30-35.00 @ the most. Looks like a bike I had bought last summer that got ripped off at Iola car show last year. Mine was in much better riding condition that I paid $20.00 for. Damn I miss that bike. Good luck Austin. 👍
Me and my brothers had Murray Wildcats and Stingrays in the late 60's into the 70's, so maybe we were some what more fortunate than others, but I always liked the Raleighs and Ross bikes too. RideOn. Mark.
Nice trailer, to bad it's empty. Just kidding. Sounds like a really great show. If any body finds a blue Ross Apollo Racer that was at the South Bend show a couple weeks ago for a buck forty please let me know and I will pay a finders fee for said bike. Thanks and happy hunting. Mark.
