Just enough patina to be interesting and a great rider. The second is a Bianchi Reparto corse, with campagnolo group...

    Tail End Tuesday

1977 Sekine GTO made in Japan. The turn signalS are sequential like the old Cougars. Has a brake light. It takes 8 D cell batteries to run the lights and 1 9 volt to run the radio. This adds to the 50pound weight of the bike. The head light is power by the generator.

Another oddball. It is a late 60’s early 70’s road bike. Jupiter Beat. Has hexagon tubing, 27 inch tires and 10 speeds. When the 10 speed craze hit in the early 70’s. This was one of the first offerings. It weighs slightly less than a VW beetle. It has been in storage for a long time. Has...

    New (old) bikes in 2023

Only 2, first is a 51 to 53 cm vintage Hetchins curvy. In just about any condition. Second is a BMX Haro Monocoque. It dose not have to be complete, i would start with a frame. And I will try to Thin the herd and sell about 10. ( wife laughs hysterically in the background ).

    Disc brake

Interesting piece. I wonder if it is ment to go with this piece, that I have also had for years. It is also a Shimano FF system. It is the front gears that has a freewheel. Sheldon Brown described it as a solution looking for a problem.

Another odd ball. Apparently it was bought new by the original owner. (102 years young) In 1940. I can not find a manufacture‘s mark on it. It is chain drive solid, rubber tires and it steers by pulling the reins. The covering is goat skin and the mane and tail are wool. It now sits in front of...

Happy Sunday. I got a couple this week. A Ritchey, a Tim Hortons bike ( it’s Canadian thing ) and some springy kids shoes that I might let the grand kids try out. I do not know the model of the Ritchey, I am thinking it is an 88 or 89. The Ritchy is a keeper ( needs some work ). The Hortons will...

Hello all. I have this bike that I can find very little info about. There is a decal on the steer tube. With a magnifying glasS I can read “the Hunter “. Also there is a British fox hunting scene, with the fox and the horses in full gallop. I think it is from the early 20’s based on the...

ORPHAN AND ULTRA RARE BIKE THREAD, THE HARDLY EVER SEEN.

One more. 1988 Norco RPM. To some, the monocoque bmx was the future of BMX, it was very short lived. Specialized and Haro and I am sure others also made monocoque’s. The RPM’s are probably the rarest. This one was raced at the world championships in 2000. Thanks

ORPHAN AND ULTRA RARE BIKE THREAD, THE HARDLY EVER SEEN.

Another one. 1981 Sprick. Made in Germany, advertised as “ the bicycle of the future”. Funny thing is none of these advances got off the ground. Sachs 3 speed coaster brake. Thanks

ORPHAN AND ULTRA RARE BIKE THREAD, THE HARDLY EVER SEEN.

Great thread, I love odd balls. This one is a 1909 Resilient Royal Centaur. Very English. The girder frame was only made for one year. It has an Armstrong 2 speed bottom bracket. It needs some work that should be done this winter. Thanks

Another oddball. This is a Giant cadex 2. From around 1990. It has carbon tubes the glue into alloy lugs (very light). I bought it for the CAMPAGNOLO wheels. It also has a Rock Shox fork made out of magnesium. I have never seen one, I am guessing that they all broke before the could become...

    Handle bar storage?

AndyA - no mouse I just tie a 1/4 inch nut to the string and let gravity do the rest. Yes you can play a tune on the handle bars, I would not recommend hanging them where there is wind😀
