What years and models would these reflectors belong on?

As you can see they are both two pie Gulco #376 3 1/4 inch Stimsonite 12A reflectors. The style of both the front and rear are different though. My understanding is the two pies were found on the earlier Stingrays. Are either of these styles found on specific years, models or other brand bikes?

Royce Union muscle bike info needed.

Nice bike, i think 300 is a fair top estimate. It’s a desirable color, very clean bike and has a 3 speed with a stick shift. As far as determining the year, if those are original tires there will be a date code on them depending on the manufacturer. I’m not sure who manufactured the bike so...

Goodwill been berry berry good to me

Wow that’s a pretty sweet goodwill find. It’s tough to find good large items at the goodwill. There’s always a line of people just waiting to scoop stuff up as they bring it out. I’ve found some great small stuff there though. One older Schwinn at one by me was literally gone before the door...

Found this seat for sale for a pretty reasonable price and scooped it up as soon as I saw it. Tough to find in this shape! It came off a 66 Stingray.

NOS 12 inch little tiger training wheel set with brackets, hardware, box and instructions. I have a beautiful little tiger to use them on but just haven’t been able to bring my self to mount them. They are only new once! Mustang horse head glitter Coppertone grips.

    Mustang grip info

Thanks for the reply. I noticed sales were all over the place from the research I did. I saw a set sold for as much as 150 and the one you said for 110 too but there were a couple others that sold for 40 etc. I won’t part with them unless I get a really good offer, it’s just not worth it to me...

    Mustang grip info

I’m curious what the history behind these grips are. I didn’t find much on an initial search. They are imprinted with the word Mustang and are shaped like a horse head. I know Hawthorne and CCM made “Mustang” bikes. Does anyone know if these originally came on a specific make, model, year, etc...

1964 Schwinn Stingray Knobby Tire and 1970 white letter slik

Anyone interested in some original Stingray tires take a look! I listed them here first but if no interest I guess I’ll send them to eBay and other online groups.

1964 Schwinn Stingray Knobby Tire and 1970 white letter slik

The knobby is dated 3/64 and is a Carlisle. I bought it from an old man who said he pulled it from a mid 60s Stingray he originally purchased (he didn’t remember the exact year). The tire is in awesome shape with one very small/minor crack above the X in 20 X 2.125. The tire is soft, pliable and...

    1960 Starlet...Worth Purchasing?...

I think that bike is definitely worth 100 dollars. That’s a great color and you don’t see it very often. I know girls bikes are not popular but I’d buy that in a heartbeat. Great color and it’s all there.

Help with stuck head set and stem.

Sounds about right! I guess those driving by probably had a good laugh while we were struggling with a bike wrapped around a basketball pole lol.

Help with stuck head set and stem.

There is one on eBay now, only asking 399.99 plus shipping! Success, it finally gave in and came apart today. The locknut had to be cut off. The handlebar stem came out by putting the fork over a pole for a basketball hoop to leverage it and twisting and pulling repeatedly in opposite...

Help with stuck head set and stem.

I appreciate the advice. I’ll keep soaking it with the PB Blaster.
  15. Vintagedad

Help with stuck head set and stem.

I struck the stem bolt a few times with a large mallet after first getting it to budge like you said. My plan is to cut the lock ring but I haven’t had the chance to try that yet. I had my little one in the garage and outside with me this weekend so I couldn’t use a saw. I did redo the rear RB2...

Help with stuck head set and stem.

Thanks for sharing if I can’t remove the locknut by heating it I will probably take your method up and cut it off if possible. At this point I don’t mind damaging the nuts and neck etc. as I can replace them. I just don’t want to damage the frame or fork.

    Good candidate for OA Bath?

The solution didn’t get yellow but it got cloudy almost is the best way I can put it. I stirred it and wiped the parts down if I saw any yellow crud as much as possible every time I checked on it. You may be right then about the screen print, I’ll have to look at it again tomorrow. If that’s the...

Help with stuck head set and stem.

I’ll keep trying heating it up. I tried putting a tire on and it didn’t work that way either. Your right I’ll stop with the pipe wrench. I’m going to get a breaker bar and put it on the end of my adjustable next time I try I guess. I’m kind of at a loss at the moment.

    Good candidate for OA Bath?

I think it might have, it got pretty cold here at the time. I heated up the water initially but over time it cooled back down.

Help with stuck head set and stem.

The head set is completely stuck on this rusted 68 Schwinn Stingray Deluxe. The locknut etc. just will not budge. I started with an adjustable wrench and WD40, upgraded to a pipe wrench and PB Blaster. Tried a bigger pipe wrench. Ive let it sit after spraying it multiple times and soaking it...

    Good candidate for OA Bath?

Here’s some of my results. I did an initial run with only a handful of parts. I did not want to do the whole frame on my first try and my headset is currently stuck and I’m unable to remove it. I did about 1 heeping teaspoon per gallon, I used a plastic spoon to measure. After 6 hours with...

    Good candidate for OA Bath?

I ordered from EBay tonight 14.95 for 5 lbs of OA. I’m hoping the rims would come clean enough to use but your right they look pretty bad. I picked up a back up set in the event they are too toasted. If not I guess I’ll have a spare set of wheels , which means I’ll eventually need to find...

    Good candidate for OA Bath?

Home Depot didn’t have it, the one by me doesn’t carry it in store ‍♂️. The closest Ace hardware is a little bit of a ride so I may just order the powder from eBay. Anyone have any suggestions about the wheels?
  26. Vintagedad

    Good candidate for OA Bath?

How do y’all address the wheels? I’m assuming the hub needs to be removed or will it not harm the hub? How about the spokes? I was hoping to avoid having the wheels relaced if possible but don’t want to destroy my hub.
  27. Vintagedad

    Good candidate for OA Bath?

I think I’m going to do the whole thing in OA. I’ve actually got an old school BMX bike I need to do too lol. I guess I’ll have to order it online. I went to two stores today looking for it and struck out twice.
  28. Vintagedad

    Good candidate for OA Bath?

I will, I’m not sure when I’m going to do it as temperatures have been too low here the last few days.

    Good candidate for OA Bath?

I haven’t done an OA Bath yet and am considering doing my first one on this Coppertone Stingray Deluxe. Do y’all think this bike is a good candidate for an OA Bath? This is what it looks like after some soap and water.

Saint Tropez Aerolite Tech 700 Survivor!

That bike is nice! Wish mine was that clean. I can see why that one was one of your best sellers. What year is that? Thanks for sharing. If you find a catalog with the bike I have in it let me know I’d like to see it. Unfortunately, I think mine was stored outside at some point so it’s...

Saint Tropez Aerolite Tech 700 Survivor!

Wow those are sweet thanks for sharing! What year is that catalog from? I’m trying to date the bike I have too. Unfortunately I can’t find any serial number info on it. The first number on the serial number is partially worn off but I think it may be a 2 so I was thinking 82?

    Please help with info

There is one similar on eBay if you search “vintage kids bike” under transportation collectibles it pops up fairly quickly. It has the pedals attached to the front hub like your bike but it’s obviously not the same exact bike looking at the frame. It’s been on there awhile as the price is very...

Saint Tropez Aerolite Tech 700 Survivor!

Wow that’s awesome! This bike came from NJ so who knows maybe you sold this one many years ago. I’d like to see those catalogs if possible. I don’t know if you can scan any of the pages and post them here? Or maybe take some pictures of them and post them here?

Saint Tropez Aerolite Tech 700 Survivor!

I know these bikes weren’t “high end” when they were new but they are rare to find, especially mostly original. In fact, I’ve never actually seen one in person. I was pretty excited today when it arrived. My father was out of town and brought it back with him. It’s got the blue handlebars...

    Wife’s pixie

I would think there should be bearings where you normally would find them. I never opened up the head tube all the way on the Pixie I did. Those parts were so stuck on I couldn’t get them off (fork, head set/tube etc.). I was able to shoot grease into that area to help smooth it out and those...

    Mini Black Diamond Persons Seat

Finally made the decision on what to mount the seat on! I think it looks pretty badass on a violet lil tiger. Now I just need to add a chain and training wheels.

    Wife’s pixie

Your welcome and good luck. It took me several soaks on my stingray pixie to get the bars out but the bike was very rusty when found so your bike may not be as tough. If you can’t put the tires back on for some reason when you go to remove the bars let me know and I can give you another way to...

Looking for lil tiger wheel, tire and training wheel ideas

Went through two sets of tires bc the first set would not fit the rims but finally got the second set on. Just need to add a chain and those training wheels.

    Wife’s pixie

If the handlebars won’t come out after you remove the bolt soak with PB Blaster then pull the bars and twist while doing so. The only thing holding them in is that bolt. You might be better off putting the wheel back on so you can hold it with your legs while you pull and twist.

    64 stingray tire?

Great, I hoped it was. I haven’t really decided yet. I wouldn’t put it on anything other than a correct bike from that era and I don’t own one that early but I’d like to at some point so I’m debating.

Looking for lil tiger wheel, tire and training wheel ideas

I appreciate the response! That’s what I was looking for to see some set ups, how they looked, what parts used, etc. I’ll probably end up going with the Walds if I can’t get any originals for a somewhat reasonable price. I haven’t been able to find any chrome wheels second hand unfortunately. I...

    1966 Deluxe Stingray Build

Looks like it’s coming along nice. You just can’t put a price tag on completing it yourself! It’s enjoyable work and you’ll feel accomplished after. I love the Coppertone bikes, such a great color.

Looking for lil tiger wheel, tire and training wheel ideas

Here is the bike so far. I cleaned up and regreased the bearings tonight and also put the seat on. I need to straighten up the seat but I just wanted to mount it real quick to see how it looked.

Looking for lil tiger wheel, tire and training wheel ideas

I’m looking for ideas for wheels, tires and training wheels for a Schwinn Lil Tiger. The bike is violet and is going to have a black Persons seat. The bike is missing it’s original seat, rims, tires and training wheels. I’m having a tough time finding original style training wheels that don’t...

    64 stingray tire?

I picked this tire up from an older gentleman who said he pulled it from a 60s stingray that he previously owned. Unfortunately, the rest of the bike is long gone, many many years ago. It’s been so long he couldn’t remember the exact year of the bike but was positive it was from the 1960s. The...

    "24 Firestone GTO wheel bike

Wow 200 dollars total for all that? That’s the score of a lifetime right there. Consider yourself very lucky. I don’t know much about your specific wheel bike but I do know bikes like it command a huge price. Not to mention you got a 71 cotton picker. I wish I knew where folks on here always...

Can you date this Sears serial number?

Thanks, hopefully your right and someone will figure it out. Good luck on your fastback acquisition and thanks for your help! I appreciate the effort from everyone who responded and/or checked into the bike! For now i guess I’ll just throw some wheels, etc. on it and enjoy it.
