    1969 Murray Eliminator custom

Rides great! Very slight 'fishtail' effect at really slow speed. But it actually rides smoother the faster you go! The geometry is almost perfect, but not 'off' by any means. I used a 46t sprocket in front, but added a 19t to the rear, which made the gear ratio pretty sweet as well. The springer...

    1950 Hawthorne Triple Bar

Not sure, but I think it is the same as mine. They are comfortable, and I have seen the crash bar come up on ebay before on it's own.
  9. bobbystillz

    1950 Hawthorne Triple Bar

Here are a couple additional pics of mine. This a pretty rare seat that I had before aquiring my triple bar, but thought it a worthy addition. Your seat looks very similar, if not the same. Would need more pics, but if it is the same, they have a wicked cool crashbar.

    1950 Hawthorne Triple Bar

Awesome! Welcome to the club. Did they re-braze the bars onto the frame?
  11. bobbystillz

1950-52 Hawthorne Triple 3 Bar Bicycle

Yeah, kind of a paradox. 4 bars, but referred to as a ladies triple bar.
  12. bobbystillz

    1950 Hawthorne Triple Bar

That's the original light. It should have a ribbed ring and a fin. The lens has an 'eyebrow' that is tinted green. The rest of the lens is clear. Same as this light, but the bullet would be 'Snyder green' like the color of the bike.
  13. bobbystillz

    1950 Hawthorne Triple Bar

Aside from the grips, that looks like it is all original. The 3-speed and drum brake were stock on this bike. It is a 1950, and has the original chainguard (usually missing). Looks like it's only missing the headlight. That puts the total number of triple bars (known to exist) up to 16 or 17, I...
  14. bobbystillz

    1950 Hawthorne Triple Bar

That was stock on the first year (1950) Snyder built. Had a 3 speed as well.

    Before and after

Not sure, but was under the impression it was an AMF frame (Roadmaster?). Don't own it anymore, and built it in the early days before we had access to all the ID materials we have now.

    WTB checkered troxel seat

WTB this checkered troxel seat. I am looking for both the red, and blue version. EDIT found red version, still looking for blue. Came on middle weight bikes, possibly on Evans Colson. Thanks in advance

Bendix RB2 clunk noise on brake release

@AutoBacon Yeah, so tricky thing on those...you have to put oil on/ in between the discs, then grease the bearings. Grease on the discs gums up the 2 speed hubs.

    Wanted - 1951 J.C. Higgins 24" Boys' Bike

Here's the catalog pic for reference. Here's the bike you want, but you need the 'porthole' tank, NOT the 'manifold' tank (pictured). This is the correct tank style. Hope that helps in your search.

Show me your NON-BICYCLE bicycle parts.

Thanks! Yeah, the Pink Panther bike is 95% done. Need to wire up lights, and a couple paint flourishes, and ideally reconfigure the bracket for the fork.

Show me your NON-BICYCLE bicycle parts.

No mirror on my hotrod (to hang dice from), so I put them in the rear view instead. I love using unique pencil toppers as valve caps. Found that a wrench made a perfect light bracket where I didn't want to use a fender. And trash can lids make amazing hub caps.

    Sunday's Show and Tell ... 3/26/23

No rack on that one. On the later models ('51/'52) you will see a stock rack.

    Sunday's Show and Tell ... 3/26/23

Definitely had a chainguard originally, though that sprocket and seat are not original. But you have the front drum brake and the 3 speed, which are absolutely original to the bike. Here are pics of the original headlight, chainguard, and seat.

    Sunday's Show and Tell ... 3/26/23

Congrats on the Triple Bar! That is 1 of only 15 (possibly 16) known to exist right now. That's a 1950 in original 'Snyder Green'. You have most of the original parts, and 75% of the rare parts. Here is mine.

    Sunday's Show and Tell ... 3/26/23

And look at that...lightning strikes twice. Didn't know these came in 2 sizes, but looks like I have a pair of what are, soon to be, ridiculously rare valve caps 😂 paired with some muscle bike pistol grips. Didn't dare post about this one until I had it in hand (thou shall not anger the shipping...

What a score! I searched near and far for a 666 plate. Finally found this government plate (hilarious) with 666 HXN (hexin').

    Sunday's Show and Tell ... 3/26/23

Found this 1960s, gumball machine prize, monster head. Not gonna say this one is impossible to find, but it's pretty dang hard. I've even seen original card displays with the whole set attached, but this bad boy is always missing. Anyway, this is a bit of inspiration for my next build, and fits...

    ID Help Please

Great score! CWC stands for Cleveland Welding Company btw. They made some Roadmaster and Hawthorne badged bikes as well. That's the first Goodyear badged cwc frame I've seen. Glad to see it in your stewardship.
