Unfortunately it appears that the rims on my bike are not the original rims. The rear is a hi-stop coaster brake but I haven't found any markings of a mfg yet.
Thanks, that was a interesting article. I was going to ask, if my bike was more valuable being a one year only color ( if I can save it) and also being a Hungarian bike. After reading this article it would be safe to assume that, it may be kind of a rare bike but to anyone that would have the...
So I've also figured out, the "HL" on the stem is Hsin Lung, the crank is a FU PAO and the BB components are YST corporation. All of these brands came on some vintage BMX bikes. In your opinions do you think this is all aftermarket or did these parts come on "90's" cruiser bikes?
Unfortunately the bike was painted at least once but I think twice maybe. Under the badge was a darker shade of blue, it looked like they painted over the decals so I used some graffiti remover and it was actually just, what I was the original white that was showing up through the crappy paint...
Wow, thankyou guys so much for all the help, yes I noticed the stem was way to high as well. Speaking of the stem it is made by HL? The same manufacturer made the GT handlebars that came on a 99' interceptor I have. The crank appears to be made by YST corporation. And the stamp on it reads FU-PA0165
Yeah that is kinda what I was thinking, the forks seemed to be from a more modern bike. The only part about the head badge is when I found the bike, the head badge was mounted upside down, so either it had just been removed and replaced wrong or it's not the original, I would say they removed...
Ok that's what I saw as well, I'm assuming it's just the model that makes it different. But just to show you what it is I'm looking at that is throwing me off, heres a pic of a 74' frame vs. This one, granted they are two totally different frames, the 74' frames top and bottom tubes mold into...
Hello, I'm hoping someone can help me determine the year and/or model of what i have hear. According to the serial number tool it is a 72' but I'm not sure how accurate that is. Some of the parts line right up with that but obviously some things have been changed (I think), but what has me...
Yeah, I was wondering about the brakes myself, I was trying to figure out what the "v" on the bolts stood for, assuming it is the brand. I haven't started on the tear down yet but I'm sure when I get them off that info will present it self.
Ok, I was kinda feeling that but, again I'm not real familiar with my. Bikes. Heres a couple more pics of the cantilever brakes, thumb shifters and the seat brand
I recently was given this Columbia ATB and as you can see it needs a lot of love, mountain bikes are not so much in my wheel house so I'm looking for a little advice. Is this bike something that is worth the time its going to take to get it back in shape or should I salvage what parts are decent...
Great Thanks! Yes the vintage trek site is great! I have been on the run ever since I dropped it off at home and haven't had much time to take a super close look. I was just searching online for info every chance I could yesterday lol, I agree that it seems to be much newer then 65' but I...
Hello Everyone,I just got this sebring and I've been trying to do some research on it to figure out the year and the ballpark value. I've found a couple in the $300 range and then other guys say they are worth $20. I just want to know what I have. According to date charts it's a 65' but this is...
91' schwinn sting 100% chromoly, araya 7x rims, unknown handlebars with a'me grips, Pr1mo stem, ACS 860 brake with Lee chi lever, aluminum seat post, tien hsin cr-mo crank. $250 obo
Well the guy gave the as he called it " fixie" bike for free so he obviously had no idea what he had. The paint can be removed though so no biggie really.
Yes, there are hack Mark's everywhere! There is still a tab that I think would have been the rear chain guard mount. The bike was given to me from a guy that I was actually buying a 90's dyno bmx frame from. It is set up currently as a Fixie. But to my surprise i noticed the front wheel is a...
Hi, I have what appears to be a old schwinn bike but I can't find a serial number anywhere. I believe the original color was red or orange. Any thoughts on what it is or possibly a year?
I've been messaging with him and told him it seems from the research I've done, at best maybe$ 200 and he kinda agreed. So if your interested let him know. Or I can get the info
1991 schwinn sting, its not
anywhere as cool as the sting's that came before it but still a pretty cool bike. I haven't decided what I'm gonna do with it yet but I thought some of you might think it's cool
This is a 1979 Team murray bmx bike, it is all original, it is in great shape considering it hasn't really been cared for much before I got it. The only things it needs are a rear tire and a little cleaning of the chrome. 150 obo.
Thanks! It's a fun bike to ride too, I also picked up a redline that's a little newer and it fits me better so I'm probably going to let the Trek go, but for now I'm having fun thinking I'm 13 again and hitting the jumps with my kid.
