How are tanks installed on the frame? I am building a rat bike and I'm nearly done with it. It is a 1980 Schwinn cantilever frame and I used fenders, chainguard, wheels, handlebars, crank, and other knick knacks from a woman's 1954 spitfire. Would like to know if I can install a tank.
Bought this 56 from a guy so I can use the fenders and possibly the chainguard (though I don't like it) and guy said it's all og. But it doubt it. Let me know what is og and what is not. Thanks in advance.
Pedals say made in Germany.
Guy said seat was og but I highly doubt that. Looks too...
Is the chainguard rear mount located in the same place as this one? BTW what year is yours? This is said to have been a heavy duti. Asked the guy for the serial number but he said he's not home.
Let me see your bike racks! Looking to install a bike rack in my 2001 Impala that can hold his and her cruisers. How do they hold up? They scratch the paint or scuff anything up? Thanks fellas.
I thought about buying a wally world Schwinn cruiser to strip it for parts to finish my cruiser but I'd just be creating a rust bucket if that's the case. Mannn.
Well I wouldn't take that apart. I bought this deluxe to strip it apart but once she came home I polished her instead.
I'm looking to buy a donor parts bike. Yours looks too good for that.
Looking to buy a parts donor bike, preferably a girl's 26" middle weight (cuz screw those girl bikes, right?) I need to finish my cantilever. Anyone in the Houston area with one please let me know. Thanks.
Let me know the ticket sir. In a private message and plz send pics.
Lol for sure bro. I reattached the wires for the generated lights and they work. Bike is awesome. Hope to get my cruiser built soon though.
Looks like my search for MW parts will continue because I'm keeping this one all original. I put air in the tires and I instantly fell in love with it. Her name is Penny ;)
The lady called me today she said if I pick the bike up at 2pm I can have it for $60. The chain guard and sprocket alone is what I was going to spend those $60 on. I do have a mag sprocket that I will put on the donor. And the seat is the right color I need. The grips are also the right color I...
Bro I feel you on that because I myself like to keep things all together, not just bikes. But it's gonna be expensive to buy individual parts for my frame so this is my best bet.
Yea it is about the same distance but all these intersections you have to take will make it a half hour drive. She had it listed for $80, agreed on $60 but when she seen I was serious about picking it up she changed her mind and said she wanted $70 after we agreed on $60. She said she had the...
Can the fenders off this collegiate fit my cantilever frame? Lady wants $70 plus a half hour drive. I'm interested in the seat, handlebars, and crankset. If the fenders would fit, that would be a perfect buy for me. Thanks.
This is my 1980 middleweight cantilever frame...
Found a guy that makes custom decals using jpg files. Was wondering if anyone has modified the original decal from the chain guard using their own n same for the bike model?
What is the difference between these vintage cruiser Schwinns? Someone tell me how to tell them apart. The only thing I see different is the fastback frame doesn't have the 2 middle bars, some even have the same identical chain guard with different decals. Can one know the model by looking up...
Try a reflector bracket like the photo. Your best bet is to use one that goes between the bearing cone and the top lock nut above the headset. I will post a photo of it soon as I find one. U can use it on the bottom of the headset.
