I am also looking for an original 1965 Persons High Loop Sissy Bar.
The bike...
Hey all! Just an update on the build! Looks to be a mostly original 65 J-33!
The crank was dated 4/64, super interesting considering this is a June 65 serial frame ( FA71233 June 22, 1965), but I guess whatever parts were there is what they used! Doubtful that someone would have swapped a 65...
Hey Guys!
So this is my next project, an original ultra crusty FA Sky Blue J-33! Found in this condition and purchased from the original owner in Chicago!

Hey All!
I am looking for a clean set of original Goodyear All Weather Deluxe tires for my 1948 Schwinn B6.
PM me if you have a set you would part with!
Thanks
- Joey
Here is a photo for reference
Thank you sir! It is all original pin striping! Just soap and water and a small amount of wax to bring back the vibrancy. Other than the spider rust from its life in Chicago the original paint stayed pretty clean.
Hey all! Just wanted to share with you my 1948 Schwinn B6 Autocycle. I bought this bike last year for $400 and completely tore it apart down to the last bolt. Went through lots of evaporust and sos pads but managed to get her road worthy! I converted it to a porkchop front brake bike as I just...

Hey all! I am nearing the end of my 1948 Schwinn B6 Build. All thats left is to paint and weather my 6 hole rack. Ive been riding the bike alot since I got it back together and it seems everytime I hit a bump or the spring bounces the battery in the fender light tray pops out of place and the...
Hey everyone!
So I am having issues with my S2 rims for my 48 Autocycle. I have been told by a few people that schwinn made two versions of the S2 tubular rims. Ones that had a larger hole for heavy duty spokes like the whizzer, and others that fit the standard 14 gage .80 spokes and nipples...
So here is my bike when I got it. The rims I am using came from this bike, and the original spokes that were on it when I pulled it apart were 14 guage torringtons. I purchased some new old stock double butted torringtons for the rims since I could not salvage all of my old spokes. When I went...
So when I went to have my spokes laced up, my local bike shop guy who used to work for schwinn in the 70's told me I had the wrong rims for the bike. He really is not too familiar with early balloon tire stuff so Im pretty sure he is wrong. He did however tell me that upon trying to lace the...
Hello All! I am rebuilding a 1948 Schwinn B6 with the front drum brake. I am in need of a scripted hand brake lever. Please let me know if you have one you are willing to part with!
Here is a pic for example:

So my spokes came off of a 1948 Schwinn B6. Some of the original spokes did seem to look thinner towards the middle of the spoke. I reached out to the seller and he said he was going to work something out. I wasn't sure at first if it was the wrong spokes or the wrong the hub. Unfortunately the...
I reached out to the seller today. I bought the hub from him just over a month ago, had no idea they were like that. It wasn't in the listing. Hopefully he responds. I bought the spokes from him too so I'm wondering if he knew about and didn't say anything. We'll see what the result is.
Yes it is, the first photo I know is an NOS drum hub from ebay, unfortunately it's $500. The second photo is actually my listing from ebay and the cabe as well. I have two other hubs and I inspected those today and both have the holes drilled larger. I tested my spokes in all 3 hubs that I own...
I reached out to the seller to see if he has another hub that is not drilled. I bought the NOS spokes and hub from him so its a bummer he didn't tell me they were drilled.
Not sure what gauge the original spokes were but the double butted torringtons are 14 guage. So for a standard b6 with the drum brake, the thin double butted torringtons are correct? It seems like my original spokes from 48 were much thicker.
Hey All!
I am currently rebuilding a 1948 B6 and I am having some issues with the spokes and drum brake hub. Hopefully someone can clear this up for me.
I purchased from "oldbikes" on ebay, supposedly, vintage period correct torrington double butted spokes that are supposed to be the correct...
Here is a great lot of Parts! In this lot you will get two Cranks and Sprockets including the bearings and washers minus the bearing cups. You will also get a kickstand missing the pin, and front scripted hub minus the axle removed from a 1948 Schwinn B6. You will also get two front drum brake...
Hey Everyone!
I am new to The Cabe and am excited to have a new resource for parts and information! My Latest bike project is my 1968 Schwinn Runabout in campus green! The bike was a total pit when I started but it has cleaned up nice. I am now looking for missing parts and replacement parts...
