I HAD a very nice 1972, Kool orange Manta Ray, all original parts & the disc-brake model..... I always considered it to be ugly as sin. After keeping it many years, I decided to sell it. I still think the Manta Ray is ugly as sin, but I wish that I would have held on to that one. I've made other...
I'm proclaiming 04.20.2023 is NOT "get stoned day", but SKY BLUE DAY !!!
The skies are blue, the oceans are blue ( most of them, Atlantic is more green), and the koolest Schwinn color is Sky Blue!!!
Wanted: 1969 to 1971 Schwinn "Star Dust" bicycle. Must be original paint. Needs to be in good condition, 7/10 on a scale of 1 to 10. Frame, fork, and chain guard from the same bike is ok too. Txs.
Thanks for the props !!! I won't leave this up too much longer. Probably just gonna keep it to ride. I had this model of bike back in 1974, when I started delivering the Sacramento BEE. My friends all had Schwinn Heavy-Duti's and they clowned me unmercifully about my NEWSBOY SPECIAL....I do not...
Looking for a sky-blue STAR DUST bike. It needs to be in good condition, with the original sky-blue paint and decals. I would like the frame, forks and chain guard, or a complete bike, if price is right. Prefer the coaster brake model. The years of 1969, 70, or 71 only. Send pics and description...
For sale, 1970's NEWSBOY special. This is a beautiful, complete bike. Awesome condition. Only the inner tubes and the seat post has been replaced. The wheels are immaculate. The paint is vibrant. The tires are the original Goodyear, studded tread. The only flaws are the decals, and a few touch...
I also have a 1966 black Fastback with the original, Schwinn sales book. The paint was cleaned, polished, then clear coated, so it looks brand new. I plan on keeping it until I CAN get 10k for it. As for the bike you mention.....it's the " I really don't want to sell it price ", which is OK with me.
Food for thought on a Father's Day eve..... I find many, many peeps on this site who just love to criticize, demean, speculate, and otherwise be down right NEGATIVE with their postings and opinions. Why is that ??? In regards the lime green Schwinn "Phantom", ask questions to the person selling...
Beautiful color combo !!! Maybe opaque red grips or white grips with a red headbadge ??? AKA Black widow ( maker ) 😁
PS: Is Joe Crawford still making seats ???
The pedals are original UNION brand. The chain is a HKK brand. Made in Japan, heavy & top quality. I do not know if that is the original chain. I am not a bike expert by any stretch of the imagination. And the seat post is a WALD brand replacement.
The pedals are definitely original, UNION brand. The chain is a HKK, made in Japan. I do not know if that's the brand it came with. It is a heavy chain, top quality.
The original seat post was somehow lost.....looked everywhere for it. The replacement is a WALD brand. It looks great, and will...
Hey, I have a set of white ( painted ) Schwinn S-7 wheels that would look great on the Spitfire. They are from the early 1960's, look good, but are not perfect. They use tires that would be narrower than the 2.125" inch tires that are on the bike now. Let me know if you are interested.
I have an extremely well preserved 1970's Newsboy Special in red, that I am considering to sell and/or list on eBay. Just trying to measure the interest in said bicycle.
Anyone interested ??? FYI- it is in a box, SOMEWHERE in my garage, so I do not have immediate access to it.
