Currently mocking up my last prewar Dx. Not sure if I want cream smoothie Lobdell’s or red drop centers on it yet. Need to paint the frame and chainguard to match the fenders, tank, and fork still, but I’m liking it so far

After last weeks Sunday ride I found I had to work on my tall frame. Front wheel was out of round so it was trued. Rear rim was wonky and has broken spokes so a loaner wheel was installed as a placeholder until I can find my used spokes to fix it. And the original handlebar were cracked...

Finally out on a Sunday ride again! Around 10ish miles this morning My 1936 tall frame Model C and my friend on his 1945 Dx

And the last upgrade to the 40 Dx. Front sprocket was too small to fit the chainguard properly, so I found a better suited one for it. Time to ride!

Added a set of Fat Franks to my 1940 Dx today. They fill up the narrow fenders nicely.

What do you do with a ill-formed repop Phantom fender? Chop it into a bobber fender

Got my replacement tire for my Dyno Deuce. I like it

Swapped handlebars on my Dyno. And installed a temporary rear wheel to make it a rider while I wait for the new original style rear tire to arrive

Just got home with this bike. Gave my black one away to a co-workers kid last year, and I kind of missed it. Found a good replacement. Dyno Deuce

Added a set of cranks and a side stand to my tall frame project today. Just need a chain and it’s ready to ride finally

Added a chain to my Black Phantom as well as the headlight assembly. Still need to fix the cover and get that mounted, but it’s a rider now

Cleaning and relacing a set of wheels today. Forgot to take a before of both wheels, but the front one looked like the back when I started. Just need to tension and true them and they will be ready!

Bought a frame this week, and added a chainguard to it. Not as nice as the frames paint, but good enough for me. Need to dig out a matching set of forks and paint some fenders to match, but a nice start to a new project.

A couple other things to note on the early postwar Dx’s. The rear dropouts are thinner gauge metal the the 47 and up bikes. If you can compare to bikes side by side the difference is obvious, otherwise you need to measure them. Also, the front chain guard mount is thinner gauge metal and tends...
