Before I paint my 1940 Dx frame to match my red sheet metal parts, does anyone have a red 40-41 Dx frame in about the same condition as my red parts?
If so pm me
Looking for a 1936 dated Schwinn crank to replace the ones that broke on me last week. Prefer something in the 5-6 range so they will match the patina on my bike
Sorting through boxes in my storage unit after work today, and I finally found something I have looking for for a while now. 52 tooth Schwinn clover sprocket. Of all the places for it to be it was in my original Redline Flight crank box! It was a good evening
Found something tonight I had been looking for for a while now. My original Redline Flight cranks in their original box. Along with the layaway note and receipt from when I bought them in 1987. Always fun to find misplaced things. Fun throwback to a simpler time
Because I am my own worst enemy, I saw this and had to have it. Whizzer bottom end, but what model and how hard will it be to find the missing parts? After a little cleaning all the internals spin freely, but sadly the connecting rod needs new Babbitt poured.
My best guess is a model F engine...
Looking for a prewar double bar roadster frame.
Would like a straight frame, but paint condition is not important
Please pm me if you have one available
A week ago a friend contacted me about a bike he found at the transfer site he works at (read : the dump)
He sent me one pic, and I knew that I wanted it. That week was a long wait until I could pick it up from him.
This will not be a restoration, but rather a good cleaning and then preservation...
My first collectable bike, other than my old Quadangle which I won’t count, was the oddball 1946 Schwinn Dx with the tubular upper rear fender mount.
I have been missing that bike, so I have decided to replace it with another one.
Fun fact, my first one had an Our Own Hardware EZ Speed badge...
Looking for an original paint Black Phantom chainguard for my 1953 Phantom. It’s the last painted part I need for my bike, the red phantom guard isn’t cutting it for me anymore.
Picture below is the bike I’m wanting the chainguard for.
please pm me if you have one you available
Looking for the oddball 1946 men’s 26” Dx frame. With the tapered kickstand and the tube upper rear fender mount
pm me if you happen to have one for sale. Thanks for looking
Hope the pics show the difference ok. First is the fender mount that is an actual tube and not the u shaped channel...
Looking for a more correct chainguard for my current project. This is the bike it will be going on. Love to find a feather guard for it in about 6-7 of 10 condition
pm me if you have something that’s fits the need, and thanks for looking
Post war Monark built JC Higgins. Frame was modified with a tab welded on for the Silver King chain guard. New reproduction emblem on the guard. 24” Schwinn fork for more of a hot rod vibe. Columbia rear rack.
Aluminum rims.
Handlebars, cranks, and gooseneck are from a Huffy Cranbrook.
Schwinn...
On a whim I decided that I wanted an arch bar truss frame. Just a cool frame design in my eye. Saw this one for sale here from a fellow CABE member and bought it. Then my searching began. Even found a post regarding this one saying it’s possibly an Emblem frame. Never could find any pics of a...
I’m looking for a complete set up or the parts to complete my bare hub. I need the shifter and cables as well as the hub internals. Looking for the standard non skip tooth sprocket version.
First pic is my hub. Rest of the pics are not mine, but show the parts I need.
Please pm me directly if...
So, I bought a set of fenders on the feebay. They are painted like Shelby fenders, and the pics of them led me to believe they were in fact Shelby fenders. They arrived today and upon taking them out of the packaging they didn’t look quite right to me. My first instinct was that they were...
This is my first venture into lightweight bikes, so I figured this was a good bike to start with. I’ve been wanting a skinny tire bike to ride for a while now and prewar bikes are my favorite. When I saw this one for sale here on the CABE, and it was very close to my house, I jumped on it.
My...
I was cleaning my ShelBMX today after a few weeks of hard trail riding. You know, thrashing it like it was stolen on the mountain bike trails near Whittier. The last few miles of riding I was hearing a creaking noise I could not pin down. Well, after cleaning the mud and grime off, I found out...
Looking for 2 sets of boys 26” prewar dogleg cranks. The 7” long ones. Not too picky on year, but they are going on a 1939 and a 1936 if you have the correct date coded ones.
Need to be straight and with good pedal threads. The last 3 sets I bought weren’t very good, hence the reason I need...
Helping a friend to find a Schwinn double bar roadster frame. He saw mine and now he wants one. Just looking for a frame, but open to more complete ones depending on price.
Pm with if you’ve got something to help my friend out. Thanks for looking!
This is the style frame he is looking for
Because I can’t stop myself, I decided to start yet another project. This one will most likely be a very long term project, as I don’t have much to start with. Bummer it looks nice too, as it has corrosion damage hiding under the side panels that needs to be fixed. And the holes need welded up...
Got a new project a couple weeks ago. Figured it would be a quick one since it’s a bare bones rider for now.
1936 Schwinn double bar roadster. Came to me as a frame/fork/badge/cranks combo for a fellow CABE member. I had a seat and some chrome drop centers, so I slapped it together
Looking for a decent set of non-knurled S2 hoops for my 1948 B6 project. Chrome preferred, but painted would be ok if the paint is nice. Only need them hoops, but I’m open to complete wheels too
Pm me with pics and prices if you got a set to part with.
Looking for a couple sets of prewar drop center rims. Prefer original paint, but I may entertain chrome also. Complete wheel sets are ok too.
Pm me if you’ve got a set up for grabs.
Looking for a nice boys prewar dogleg Shelby cranks for my 1940 Gamble’s Hiawatha project. Prefer good chrome on them, as I really don’t want to have a set rechromed, but I’ll take what I can get.
The ones being replaced are 7” center to center.
Let me know if you have something that will...
Looking for a Schwinn double bar roadster frame for an upcoming project. Maybe more, but mostly a frame. Like the pic below.
Pm me if you’ve got something for sale. And thanks for looking.
Looking for a 1941 Schwinn Deluxe chain guard, 26” bike. Green would be my first choice, but any color will do. Don’t mind if it needs a little work.
Pm me if you have one to part with, and thanks for looking.
Pics included to show what guard I’m looking for
I’m looking for a prewar Schwinn boys 26” truss fork. Would prefer original black paint, but I’ll take what I can get. Locking or non locking is ok. Also would like to have the truss tubes present.
PM me if you’ve got one with pics and a price. Thanks for looking
I put an add up here on the CABE to find a frame for an upcoming project. And I came up with 2 frames. But to my surprise they are both different. Maybe it’s due to year difference? But this got me wondering if any other have noticed this too. Never really have seen anything like this before on...
Looking for a prewar Schwinn Cantilever frame for a project. Don’t mind it it needs a little work, but looking for a decent one. May be interested in other parts as well, but mainly looking for a frame
Pm me if you have one for sale.
Just got this beauty today. Road Master badge. Black out hubs, New Departure front and Morrow rear dated to 4th quarter 1945. Tank is most likely not original to the bike. Color is not the same, but looks nice enough to keep it on the bike. Persons pedals.
Seller told me it belonged to his...
As my Hiawatha project comes close to a final assembly, I thought it time to ready the next one. I’ve had this one for a few years now, and when I saw the chrome truss fork for it, I knew I had to get back to this one. I’ve a set of chrome drop centers on the way, and a set of deluxe fenders...
I need some help deciphering my Higgins id badge. I know it’s Monark built but that’s it. Would love to know the year and exactly what model it was.
It came to me as a frame, tank and chain guard. So why not build it as a hot rod bike. 24” forks to give it a little rake, aluminum wheels because...
I bought this saddle a few months ago at the local swap meet. Spent a few weeks trying to get it to work (read be more comfortable) and just can’t get it to work properly. It’s just kind of a sloppy wobbly mess when it’s on a bike. My best guess is that the seat pan/cover are a different...
Looking for 2 Wald #3 stems for prewar project bikes I’m gathering parts for. Hoping to find some nice ones if possible.
pm me if you have one that may suit my need. And thanks for looking
Once again, I started yet another project before finishing the other project I’m working on. But this one should be a quick one. I’ve got most of the parts for this build.
Anyhow, I bought a badge at the Long Beach Cycle swap meet a few months back. And that is where this project took root.
I...
Looking for a few parts to rebuild my last Morrow hub. Pictures show what parts I’m searching for. Don’t care about the date codes on these, just looking for nice parts as this is for a rider
Looking for a 1936 Morrow rear hub. Late 1935 would be ok as well. Would love to find a near new or nos one as it’s for a restoration project. Not too worried about the internal parts being correct date. Just want it to be complete
Pm me if you have one that would work. Thanks for looking
Late ‘30’s early ‘40’s Westfield tank. Straight tank with no rust. No horn unit either. Probably not original paint, but I can’t say that for sure. Bought it years ago for a project bike, but it didn’t fit, so it time to move it along. Local pick up preferred, but I will ship. Asking $150, plus...
As I’ve been cleaning out my storage to consolidate and make room for more stuff, I’ve found my box of badges that I’ve collected over the years.
I’m curious about a few of them that I’ve cleaned up. Hoping someone can shed some light on them for me. Mostly curious about the year range on...
Looking for a prewar boys 26” dx frame. Color isn’t important, but looking for a nice undamaged frame. Year isn’t important either. Not looking to spend a ton on it, as this will be a custom build.
Pm me if you got one for sale
Thanks for looking
Jeff
I was at my storage unit today looking for a few parts for one of my bicycles and found one of my boxes of badges. Thought someone here might enjoy them. Not the most rare, but I do like them. And they fit in with my custom car hobby as well.
Because I don’t have enough going on with my current projects, I decided on a whim that I need a prewar Schwinn project. 1936 Cycleplane to be exact. I bought the frame/locking truss fork from a fellow CABER and it will be here soon. So, as luck would have it, I have what should be the correct...
I’m looking for a replacement fork for my 1936 Shelby. The threaded stem area is damaged badly. Attached is a picture of the fork that I need to replace. Just need the fork itself, as my truss rods and bracket are ok
I bought the saddle for a 1941 Girls Schwinn project that never happened. So, now I’m curious as to who made it, approximate vintage, and value of it as I will be putting it up for sale. Any and all help is appreciated
