I have acquired a new-in-box Raleigh Super Grand Prix with 27" frame (yes, frame size).
This is a tall frame if you intend to ride it. The 27" is frame size AND wheel size!
A few photos here after I took the bike out of the box just for photos and back into the box.
Vintage about 1979-80.
The...
Just a comment. I have three RSW-16s including mine from the 1970s. Back then, I rode mine on seven, annual 200-mile weekend tours and once on a 200 mile double century. These can be nice riding bicycles. I'm tall so have a second seat post brazed on top of original. Rat trap pedals and...
Are you still looking for tall versions of these Raleighs? I don't have pictures yet, but I am getting a 27" Raleigh Super Grand Prix, Pearl Green 12-speed. It is unassembled and in original box. Probably around 1978 or so. I'll have photos tomorrow when it arrives.
The light blue Schwinn Paramount sneaking in one of Tyson's photo was ridden on the track that morning by a Wheelmen. That Paramount is old at 46 years old, but not 'antique'.
I shared these CABE pages with Phil's daughter so the family was aware of his impact here. From FaceBook today:
Wow, I am overwhelmed by all the support we received from friends and family over these past two days (in fact, the last two weeks). Your thoughts and prayers all across the country...
Here is a 1897 Model 25 found via The CABE. This will give you an idea of the bars and stems. There are metal bars on some I've seen.

Good luck with the restoration!
The tandem, as received, came with the original wood-rim front wheel separately since the rim was cracked. Replacement, steel rim front wheel, is very appropriate (well, if you ignore the shiny, ridable rim). The rear wheel has the original double-sprocket hub and spokes, but with a shiny new...
Day 2 of a 5 day ride from northern Ohio to Waukesha, Wisconsin in 2014. 350 miles up across Michigan
to the ferry in Muskegon. This was approaching the Lansing area.
Yes, I ride an 1885 Columbia Expert!
A Garmin GPS for navigation, bell, tool kit, red windbreaker, solar charger, 1970s TA...
An acquaintance (in Ohio) asked me about selling the bicycle he bought new in 1966. He said it is all original, including his name he scratched on the head tube during college.
I don't deal with this era bicycle, so I don't have an idea of the approximate value if he was to sell it.

The museum staff is open for offers. I didn't make that clear in my original post.
And, honestly, I would be interested in this but I need a 58" or 56".
I am assisting an organization to reduce their holdings and this 50" open head Columbia high wheel is available. The photos do it justice for its condition. It has most likely not been ridden for 15-20 years and has been in a small, non-bicycle museum in Ohio
. The (not-original) rubber looks...
What are you looking for?
What are you looking for in a trade? An untouched HTS project or a fully restored HTS?
I'm curious, did you restore the Pierce? What condition did it start out?
You might want to peruse the old Copake bicycle auctions to see what similar machines sold for. Be a little cautious about a few of the more recent auctions where they were disposing of the contents of two museums.

The saddles were recovered by a leather worker in Michigan but such work is not his primary work so I am unable to state his name or company. I am sorry, but he is gainfully employed in his primary work.
Approximate cost was $160 each. He tried to faithfully recreate the look of the two...
Done! Saddles arrived and installed. Head badge mounted.
The saddles were recovered by a leather craftsman in Michigan. The head badge was cleaned and re-nickeled by a jeweler in Kansas.
The slight crease in the downtube may be fixed in a more complete restoration in the future. I've...
At a bicycle exhibit a couple weeks ago, a young girl spent hours riding my Fairy treadle tricycle back and forth on the (closed to traffic) street. The girl's grandmother would like to buy a similar bike to grace their Victorian home and also for the young girl to ride.
If someone has one...
Nearly complete!
Still waiting for the original saddles to be recovered in leather. When the saddles are installed, then the newly nickeled headbadge will also be installed.
So far, rust is gone, splits in the wood bars have been re-glued, bars are re-varnished, fork weld repair cleaned up...
Really looks like a Crescent.
It really looks like a Crescent to me.
The pedal rubbers look like a Crescent I have.
The real telling feature is the 'fancy' rear wheel axle adjustment mechanism. These have a worm gear to adjust the position of the axle for tensioning the chain and centering...
The Crescent tandem found a new home!
The Crescent tandem found a new home!
Like a Phoenix, it will rise from the ashes (well, it wasn't THAT bad!) and be a wonderful bicycle again and will be riding the roads and streets of Ohio.
Thank you, jgrote! The tandem was in amazing shape, much...
