  1. Superman1984

What does your current project look like now?

It's funny you show that because I was originally thinkin' a modern day metallic or pearlescent orange or green. 💯% . Don't get me wrong there's some very classy and original lookin' show Shelby bikes on here that I would 🫠&🤤 over but I love the modern paint with the traditional schemes these...

    Withdrawn Luxury liner part out

    Complete bike available👀❓️
  3. Superman1984

    Ideas..ideas...ideas.. [rusty]

I've always wanted to do somethin' similar to these steering wheel bikes but use a 14.5" billet steering wheel from Billet Specialities or just ebay🤔 I don't know that it'd feel as natural though; I mean I've always felt bicycles should have handlebars (I like customizing them too) but Maybe 1...

What does your current project look like now?

Not going back original 2 tone colors & are you staying traditional 👀❓️ I would like to suggest some modern color(s if that would interest you🤔
  5. Superman1984

    1935 Hawthorne Motobike...Just Got It

It happens. I've had a bike that was completely painted blue (horribly done with rattle can) & he used some kinda silver epoxy type paint that looked like it was brushed on with sand in it🤦🏻‍♂️ He called it Restored. The chrome under it was Nice but it was such a pain in the ass getting...

    Info on 1953 Western Flyer

Yeah I had a '53 CWC girls bike & everything looks identical (the peaked fenders, the paint design, frame -being a boys & forks.) I bet there's not much difference if any in the badge holes vs the Road Master. Lol @jacobmosteller Nice lookin' score & be very gentle with it. As mention those...
  7. Superman1984

What does your current project look like now?

I dig the frame design too‼️ I also dig that blue❓️ so I gotta ask what the info is on it❓️ Kinda has an electric color to it 🤔

    Filling Handlebars; For Strength❓️

Do you mean what they spray insulate with commercially❓️ I'm used to using the cans like from Lowes but I don't know if I'm aware of a dense closed cell. Generally you can break it off by hand but I've never tried spraying it in a pipe. Maybe since it's such an enclosed space it would be a bit...

    Filling Handlebars; For Strength❓️

Only weakness I've found isn't a glowin' green rock BUT 👏🏻👍🏻 for the reference 🫡🍻 Boris.
  10. Superman1984

    Filling Handlebars; For Strength❓️

These are the bars They're brand new Ebay bars 20" Dyno style aka most likely Chinesium. They're flexing a little at the point where they slightly kink back. I've got most of my parts; new 203mm brakes, 2-1 brake lever, 8ft of cable housing, & awaiting my 105" brake cable to set it up. I...
  11. Superman1984

    Filling Handlebars; For Strength❓️

The bars are brand new ebay 20" Dyno Style. I'd venture to say Chinesium chrome to be more realistic. I understand what you're saying entirely. Just worried I could potentially bend a nice set of bars I'm into a little shy of $100. I do appreciate You & Your Input. I may just be over thinking a...

    1935 Hawthorne Motobike...Just Got It

If you do & can actually find it local there's a can that has graffiti on it; it works very well on rattle cans. I have sprayed '07-14 Silverado LTZ wheels to take the chipped & yellowing clear coat off; 30 mins just for ease & wiped off with a worn green scotch brite😉 Might only wanna do the...
  13. Superman1984

What does your current project look like now?

🫡 the 24" lil'guy looks good to cruise from here & you did a Good balancing job on the front fender; has that slight lift off & let's go‼️😉
  14. Superman1984

Grip question - Original or repop?

Sometimes there are but generally speaking non branded grips can be tough to say. You can very well age them to make them appear correct for the Era of bike & nowadays its not hard to duplicate them. Biggest thing is having 1 Good grip to mold off of. You get what I'm saying ❓️
  15. Superman1984

    Filling Handlebars; For Strength❓️

Anybody here ever done anything to make the bars more solid & less bendable or flexible❓️ Not worried about weight, all I've come across is adding silicone, buckshot & barsnake for vibrations via motorcycle forums. I've thought about melting lead weights & trying to pour that into the bars but...

    Colson

If I'm not mistaking these are called "loop tails" and I favor them due to it's unique rear look. Not a fan of red BUT that bike could clean up nicely with very little gentle effort & be a 🤤piece
  17. Superman1984

What do I have? Monark Firestone

Other than not bein' visual fan of the Schwinn style fork on these (even if originals) & lovin' the "deep" fenders .... I'm in 😍 with it‼️ I love the patina & the fact it still has the right amount of Clean in the chrome😉
  18. Superman1984

Grip question - Original or repop?

Purely guesstimate but I'd say original ....then again the way the seam is shown it could be a poor repop. Sometimes it doesn't matter ....if you need it for a mate or even period correct piece you have it & usable condition🤔 Sometimes in the case of Not Knowing you just have to decide to let...

    I.d a kids Trike

I appreciate all the info Dave 🤝🏻 and I believe he was saying she was 76 years old last year 2022 when she passed. Should have been born in 1946🤔Giving a year + or - I'm thinking around 1945-47 BUT possibly later because she may have been 4 when she got it. Not Sure. I do believe it's 12"...
  20. Superman1984

    1935 Hawthorne Motobike...Just Got It

@HARPO those items should be a fairly easy clean up ....especially if you use some Goof Off stripper (won't take long) & a scotch bright pad; green or red. I use a 3 piece little wire brush set a lot of the time for the wheels (usually the brass & just work them over) when you're able to do a...
  21. Superman1984

What does your current project look like now?

I wouldn't change a lick on it; Especially if it's comfortable, rides like a Cadillac on butter, & it's not destined to change owners anytime soon 😉

    Monark Springer ...... w/ 26x4 disc brake ?s

Has Anybody out here in the land of bicycles used the ebay aftermarket Monark springers; whether the type1 or type II "HD". I'd like to know how the quality is, any fixes made to improve them, & IF Anybody has ever used their threadless style which may be a long shot❓️ I'm eye ballin' a 26x4...

What does your current project look like now?

Micargi chopper/Beach cruiser. This was as I picked it up for a steal. Now has more personal touches like; 1st removed ALL stickers, stripped the front forks to polish, front & rear fenders to be polished, aluminum GT style threadless headset, Dyno 20" chrome handle bars wearing "skeleton"...
  25. Superman1984

    I.d a kids Trike

Thanks @Freqman1 @cr250mark . Only thing I could find was Velo King here but I wasn't sure if it was earlier or later due to looking minimalistic in the head badge area. Would I be correct that it once had fork braces as shown in some of the examples here ❓️ Asked because I did see what...

  28. Superman1984

    I.d a kids Trike

I'm trying to identify this for a family friend. It belonged to his wife when she was a little girl who recently passed away. I don't think he'll sell it but I'd like to know what It Could Be Worth to fix & leave Original?
  29. Superman1984

    Started this

They make the Whizzer style emblem; a wheel with a lightning bolt - a winged wheel also. Anything can be used as a filler there but I think way outside the creative box sometimes 🤷🏻‍♂️
  30. Superman1984

Polished piece of aluminum? Any car ornament; glue on or bolt on 🤔 I think the Oldsmobile Rocket logo would look Good there or even the Monark Rocket painted on with bolts as fillers for the hole
  31. Superman1984

Harold Van Doren all Aluminum Bicycle

@Phattiremike / Mike that is a Really Beautiful shine job🤤❗ I dig the red pin striping done around everything & on those discs 😉 If that's not original to it 🤷🏻‍♂️ It Should Have Been❗
  32. Superman1984

The story of my dads Texas Ranger

Sometimes I had to teach mine a little 🤏🏻when it comes to newer car stuff. He doesn't understand the old raked jacked up look doesn't go with everything & handling better is the way to go; even if lowered 😎
  33. Superman1984

New member looking for Hawthorne identification.

Usually see them on JC Higgins Corloflows I think but don't hold me to that 💯%
  34. Superman1984

    Chartreuse Firestone

@10~18kustoms the black pinned wheels with the 2.5" does look Good. I wouldn't fuss about owning it. If they clear then Ride it 🍻😎
  35. Superman1984

    Chartreuse Firestone

@10~18kustoms No Contest man - painted n pinstriped wheels with the white walls. It has jus' the 🤏🏻 bit of chrome & the rest is all painted steed 😎
  36. Superman1984

    Chartreuse Firestone

I 2nd this❗ Shame those white walls aren't 2.5" 'cause with the right dirty technique that would be 1 Bad Ass Monark I'd 🤤 to own personally
  37. Superman1984

    Chartreuse Firestone

Maybe a little thinned down paint & the rag method we mentioned 🤔
  38. Superman1984

    Chartreuse Firestone

I vote dirty'em. Even if you use somethin' like a slightly dirtied oil rag; I bet it'll change your feels towards the over shiny clean parts 😎
  39. Superman1984

    36 Hawthorne x 2

Wifey could have had her divorce & a blizzard to walk in to cool off. Just make it back to the house before she does 🤣🤣🤣
  40. Superman1984

    Chartreuse Firestone

Kickstand solution; add something to it like a golf ball. Just a simple no weld slip on deal 🤔 Even some slightly larger nuts stacked together with JB weld & a set screw to hold it on the kickstand will give it the extra distance. Still undoable but a little uniqueness 😉
  41. Superman1984

    Chartreuse Firestone

I still say if you just faintly age the bike some; even rubbing it down with something a little dirtied will make a difference. White walls included
  42. Superman1984

    Chartreuse Firestone

I agree but I love white walls on black rims. Black walls for tan or white but some builds still look better with white walls too cause it's just classy on vintage or rat rods
  43. Superman1984

    Chartreuse Firestone

Good good🍻 See ya tried somethin' / different for the 1st time & it worked out😉 I have used those memory foams from foot mats before & they do work. Sometimes it's just a matter of how tight you have them wrapped or even synched* down. Looks Damn Good for your 1st seat or of that style❗
  44. Superman1984

    Chartreuse Firestone

Live & Learn 👍🏻 1st time trying something can either teach you or limit you 🍻
  45. Superman1984

Schwinn Pullman Motorbike pulled off the farm

My doubts aren't that that it can be remade. It's the actual side of that tank staying together. Getting it off & not destroying what little is left of it. I was thinking maybe an expanding foam might help hold what's left of it but it'd be a trial / 1 shot experiment
  46. Superman1984

    Started this

If you want something simple do the Schwinn badge shape cut out of aluminum can or something like a piece of flat stock etc. Polish it or even faux patina stain it🤔
  47. Superman1984

    Chartreuse Firestone

A woman might look good but the bike can be less hassle & stressful 😝🤣🤣🤣
  48. Superman1984

    Chartreuse Firestone

It's renew recycle. A little pun intended. Hell I love repurposing "junk or trash" into somethin' useful & or jus' creative. Sometimes jus' makes me feel like I have so much more purpose in some ways 🤷🏻‍♂️
  49. Superman1984

    Bicycle tire snow chains????

Yeah there were a few like that on Google; a drive wheel & a "foot" skate or sled 👍🏻 Most weren't as seated but this reminds me of the mobility scooters at Walmart 🤷🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️
  50. Superman1984

    Chartreuse Firestone

I Dig it as is👍🏻🍻 Always able to do it the way you want; as far as scuffin' down to look aged. If nothin' else actually dirty it up / weather it some sitting outside. Ya NawMSayin' 😏
