Desperately seeking a G&J 24" beaded tire wheel for the front of my 1892 G&J ladies bike. I will lace up something to work in the mean time with a modern tire but I would like to make it original. Also were the rims painted or nickeled?

OK, I'll show you the head tube but I do not think the badge was origial to the bike. It looks like it was glued on. There are no rivets or screws and I do not think women's bikes in that era were refered to as "Road Racers" but I have been wrong before.

I will post a picture of the entire bike but I first wanted to hear from people on the pedals. The rest of it might be confusing. As you are well aware people change forks, seats, and yes, even pedals but I think these pedals may be original.

I picked this up from a fellow CABE member. Since the pedals attach by clamping on I thought that might give it away. At least I have not seen that before. I am hoping someone has.

I have what I believe to be a 1939 or 1940 Elgin girls bike. I am hoping the experts here can set me straight. I have noticed that some Elgins in these years had a solid sprocket and some a slotted one like mine. Which one is older? Also when did they have the neck shroud?
