TOC Repo early Columbia and Elliott Hickory pedals, $300.00 a pair shipped in US

I have three Elliott Hickory bicycles in my collection that needed pedals and I could not find any good ones. I resorted to having them made. I had to pay up front for a mold to be made for the rubbers so I feel the price is quite fair. They are nickel plated and are made to be bolted on. Would...

Wanted saddle frame for 1895 Lovell Diamond Excel, "FOUND"

I did not receive a response from my post here but a note to Paul Watson in Australia receives welcome news. He can build me one. I asked if he could have this spring wire specially bent for this saddle. Here is his response: "Yes will bend up the spring - it looks pretty simple, and I have the...

Mesinger Supreme Racer saddle period made?

I am trying to figure out when this saddle was made. I saw one similar here on The CABE that said it was 1920s to 1930s. Are there any ads out there to confirm? Any help greatly appreciated! Roderick

Rare TOC antique wooden grips for racer handlebars

They look like brand new! Since I am a relative newbie compared to all the bicycle Gurus here maybe you or someone else could show a picture of them on a period race bike. Was this the only grip they used or did they also tape the handlebars? I am just curious and love to learn more about...

    Repo TOC Pedals

I have collected a number of TOC bicycles for a museum I am creating. Many came without pedals for some reason or other. It seemed to me that there were more bicycles for sale without pedals than there were pedals for sale for them :-) I have found a source for reproduction TOC style pedals for...

    Replica TOC Troxel racer saddle

I really hate to tell people how great Paul's work is because he is already so busy it will make it even harder to get saddles made :-) Here are several samples of his work. Paul makes all his own stamps. Check out the German Hammock saddle he restored for me. Also the saddle he made for my 1897...

    Official G & J Clincher Rims Thread

Brant, thanks for responding. Was that nickeled plated OR painted or was it nickel plated with paint on top of the nickel. Sorry to be so nit picky. Just trying to make it as right as possible.

    Official G & J Clincher Rims Thread

Desperately seeking a G&J 24" beaded tire wheel for the front of my 1892 G&J ladies bike. I will lace up something to work in the mean time with a modern tire but I would like to make it original. Also were the rims painted or nickeled?

Help ID bike by unique pedal attachment

OK, I'll show you the head tube but I do not think the badge was origial to the bike. It looks like it was glued on. There are no rivets or screws and I do not think women's bikes in that era were refered to as "Road Racers" but I have been wrong before.

Help ID bike by unique pedal attachment

I will post a picture of the entire bike but I first wanted to hear from people on the pedals. The rest of it might be confusing. As you are well aware people change forks, seats, and yes, even pedals but I think these pedals may be original.

Help ID bike by unique pedal attachment

I picked this up from a fellow CABE member. Since the pedals attach by clamping on I thought that might give it away. At least I have not seen that before. I am hoping someone has.

    Conversion project

As someone who has done his fair share of ebike conversions going back about 20 years I would recommend a rear wheel hub motor. You can convert a sprocket to a skip tooth type by using an even number tooth sprocket and removing every second tooth. Install the appropriate rear rack and find a...

    Help Identify 1890s Bike

In the past Cabers helped identify my Lozier Cleveland rear steer tandem. I just picked up a mystery bike, no head badge. The original head badge was very long. The block chain and sprockets make it in the 1890s, I believe, from what I have learned by hanging out here. The front fork is...

    Wanted, 1901 Rambler front fender.

I have already had one miracle happen here on The CABE. I found the very rare front brake spoon for my 1901 Ramber model 38 chainless. Now I need another mircacle. I am looking for the front fender that completes the look. It is the reason the spoon is deigned like it is, as an extension of the...

I just spoke to Noah only moments ago and he told me I would have to gather all the information like the diameter and width. I can provide the number of holes. Help identifying spring fork

I have a bicycle friend here in Europe that found this fork in an old attic. He put it on an early bike he had. He does not know what it came from. I would personally like to find out because it is kind of cool and unique. I would like to find a complete bike while I am here in Croatia. He...

Need Info on removing bottom bracket bolts, circa 1898 Cleveland

Need Info on removing bottom bracket bolts, circa 1898 Cleveland

I have found in life that it is better to ask directions than to get lost or screw something up. I know that bicycles have some left hand threads but there are always good reasons for them. I am thinking in this case there would be no reason for them but before I try loosening the bottom bracket...

My neighbor just got back to me with the number. It is E67393 and he said there is a G6 stamped on another area of the bottom bracket. So it looks like a 1940 from the information posted above. As always, I am in much appreciation! Roderick

    Need help dating my Elgin

I have what I believe to be a 1939 or 1940 Elgin girls bike. I am hoping the experts here can set me straight. I have noticed that some Elgins in these years had a solid sprocket and some a slotted one like mine. Which one is older? Also when did they have the neck shroud?
