There is a whole bike available in Europe that has a seat that looks good, but no original grips. Bars and rack are there. If you want i can get it for you and part it out. It is not in a perfect condition, so it won't be a pity to part it i think.
Well, it is not an incredible difference, doesn't look like a totally new bike at all. But the paint has buffed out and is more shiny on the lower photos. That is exactly what i was going for, the bike looks taken care of.
I've cleaned mine out with mineral spirits at first. Be extra gentle with the graphics, even lightest rub can make decals fade. But the rest can actually be rubbed well. I didn't apply any polishing compound since the decals were so gentle. Then I've applied some boiled linseed oil and made it...
I have some experience with TSDZ2 mid motor, that is in many way similar to Bafang. They mount to standard BSA thread BB, so you need to convert yours to that. But you can't go with a normal USA/BSA adapter, because the motor leans close to the BB, that means the thread must be off-center...
Hello everyone!
Someone wrote me on Facebook asking to ID his vintage American bike.
I immediately thought of Murray, since this is a very specific tube connection they used. But then there are more pictures:
Somebody used New Departure C coaster tab with the D hub shell? The drop-outs...
Hello!
I have recently acquired a very nice condition ladies Roadmaster that i am building for a friend of mine. It is especially remarkable because i live in Europe and found this bike in the Netherlands, and not for too much money.
Here is the photo from the ad, the bike is missing the...
That may be a repaint, but not reproduction (unless some kind of one off prototype), since the dropouts on the frame are definately pre 49 style. My guess is that is an original early Roadmaster Luxury Liner, but the condition is so great that the owner believed it is a reproduction. Skip-tooth...
Here are another couple of threads mentioning the early black fender version:

Your bike is 1950 - 1954 judging by the frame features. Western flyer super, seems to be all original. The serial number can tell you the exact year and month of production. Here is the chart.
Here is my 1951 Roadmaster i am currently working on. Going to be a restomod, parts are not really that easily available here in Europe (Poznan, Poland). So forgive me some different eras mixture.
At this moment it is being prepared to be painted, while i am still waiting for more parts to be...
Hello everyone.
I have noticed that the chart by Phil that people often refer to when trying to identify their CWC bikes is mostly spread through the internet as a low resolution jpeg file. This results to lots of struggling and confusion, especially when people try to read the smallest symbols...
I am riding from Poznan, Poland where i live to Amsterdam, The Netherlands, for some custom bike cruises every summer. Maximum i have done in one day is 200km (124 miles), from Berlin to Magdeburg. I usually get there in about 10 days and do about 1500km (932 miles) in total, bit more then 2000...
Thanks for advice! I am rather good with metal working, so the fork is already shortened and it is well done. But i will keep in mind this idea about bearing cups!
Hello everyone! I am new here, and working on my first actually vintage bike, though i am into cruiser scene for some time and have experience with bikes, frame building, restoration etc.
I'm restoring a 1951 CWC (my guess it was a Roadmaster, factory paint was black) and i am in need for a...
Hello!
I am looking to buy a Coppertone Schwinn chainguard similar to that one.
Preferably Corvette (not a 5 speed one), but if it would say Jaguar or Panther on it, i won't mind too. I'd be happy if it won't be too expensive and if you may ship it to Europe :)
Thanks everyone and have a good day!
Hello everyone!
The guard i have ordered from ebay got lost in transit. It is a pity really that the part have survived 70 years just to disappear somewhere in the bureaucratic depth of post offices.
Anyway, i am now looking for a new one for my build. I prefer one that looks like that...
Any would do. My bike is men's version, so men's fork means less work for me to fit it. But i can modify the ladies version fork to fit with no problem, as far as i know the only difference is steering tube length, which i shorten.
