    Seeking early Racycle crank info

Thanks for comments. Comparing this one to the 1900 advert shows a few differences. This one seems before the “Improvements for 1900.” This one has 4-bolt mounted chainwheel, there’s no cone sleeve, nor magazine oiler. There is an axle sleeve on left side, but it seems stuck or not meant to be...

    Seeking early Racycle crank info

Refurbishing the Racycle (c.1901-3) of another CABE member inspired me to re-inspect an early Racycle that came as a rusty barn find with wrong-size 26” wheels. <http://www.bikecult.com/works/archive/10bicycles/racycle_pacemaker_02.html> I’m seeking help identifying the model year and how to...

Does anyone here know how to tell a real Major Taylor stem from a non MT?

While trying to identify one of these stems, found this Major Taylor "Outrigger" MT.15 stem in 1970 catalog of Big Wheel Ltd. Assuming this one is Accles & Pollock, but cannot say if that stamp on quill is an ankh.

1939 Shelby Flyer - track bike?

While preparing to celebrate the 81st birthday of this bike, I received this 1939 Shelby Cycle Co. Price List. Of the lightweight models, there's a P4 Super-Sports Men's Racer - Featherweight crank. With 22 in. frame, 28x1-1/8" wheels and $24.50 price, that's a good match, but without specs...

1939 Shelby Flyer - track bike?

Can't say why head badge is crooked. The top pin aligns with top lug point, but lower pin is 2mm off lower lug point. Looking inside head tube shows only one pair of badge holes.

1939 Shelby Flyer - track bike?

I did strip almost all of original crusty paint, not knowing how best to save the red color. Before and after refurbishing 2008 photos here: <www.bikecult.com/works/archive/08bicycles/shelbyflyerTRK.html> What kind of bottom bracket shell is this?

1939 Shelby Flyer - track bike?

A fake head badge was first thought. But more looking at Shelby badges, the more think it's original. Also the original frame color looks red. Thanks

1939 Shelby Flyer - track bike?

Is this a Shelby Flyer track bike? Shelby is known for cruiser and roadster bikes, so I’m surprised there was a track racing model. A bike like this suggests that Shelby had a racing interest, so I’m seeking any clues if there was a Shelby-sponsored bike racing team. I got this as crusty barn...

It's true that coaster brakes are not much TOC. Another question if those are original wheels.

Help ID this TOC “Red Arrows” Roadster Bicycle

Thanks for that. I guess it's the fork crown and top tube bend that says Iver Johnson?

Help ID this TOC “Red Arrows” Roadster Bicycle

Thanks to CABE for helping solve many projects! I've been refurbishing this TOC “Red Arrows” roadster bicycle. The curved top tube and fork crown stand out, along with crank set, wheels and fenders. I call it "Red Arrows" because the head badge is missing and doubt that arrow decals are...
