Does anyone reproduce the Elgin/Sears model number decal like this one? Seems I have seen a few restored bikes with them. I would like to get one for my
So seeing that after restoring classic cars for over 30 years just recently got infected with the vintage bike sickness. Was able to find my first bike on the cabe it had been painted but in need of completion. This is why I restored the Miss America for the Mrs I couldn't be the only one on a...
Just finished restoring the 1940 Miss America at my shop and surprised the Mrs with it on her birthday. Yellow is her favorite color that's why I painted it a non standard color. To me this color combo just looks stunning on the bike. I couldn't be the only one in the family cruising a prewar...
Considered buying this bike just to get my hometown license plate. All I ask is if someone outside the area buys this bike I can buy the Lodi license plate off it.

Has anyone found a stiffer Shelby shock ease spring. I added a few washers to the original orange spring it helped but would like it to be a little stiffer. If I lean forward on the bike the fork will pivot forward.
Thanks Tom

Hey guys I am not a huge fan of the look of a batwing light on a Higgins. Wondering what short torpedo style light would fit on a postwar Higgins with a beehive springer fork. I was looking at a Delta rocket ray junior light??

So I just received what seems to be a NOS Stewart Warner hub plate I bought off ebay since one of my originals was damaged. But it is slightly different from the original plates that came on my 1940 Elgin. The letters and stamping on the new plate are deeper and slightly larger. So now I need to...

Hey guys I am working with Gus Salmon on reproducing the correct tank and chain guard decals for a 1949 JC Higgins Colorflow. There were a couple of original paint bikes that sold on the forum wondering if the owners are still active on the cabe? One was red the other green. Here's pics of the bikes
On all the original paint 1949 JC Higgins or even model 502-271 I see pictures of I cannot make out any lettering on the original model number decal on the seat tube. Did the style of the decal change after the war?
Thanks Tom
Just curious as it seems that most of the collector bicycle world seems to focus on pre war bikes. What is considered to be the most sought after post war bike?
So in my quest for a 49 Higgins I found a project bike missing some pieces. Wanted to see if these parts are out there. Looking for the deluxe rear rack or even the lower rack section. Also two fender chrome housings and red reflectors like in the pics.
Thanks Tom

So just curious I have heard a few opinions about Elgin Miss America's seems there were two versions with and without the Elgin stamped in the skirts. Was it a early and late version or the fact that they were made by both Murray and Westfield?
Just wondering if Wald or some other company made a wire basket to fit on the rear of a pre war shelby/miss America bike. Worst case I can make something but thought I would ask first.
Thanks Tom
