wanted to buy, rent, or borrow, one of these Little Brute fork straightening tools. Looking for good to excellent condition, with handle if possible. Thanks!
WTB Schwinn King Size Heavy Duti , 1962- 1965. Must be original and good to mint condition. Not interested in anything else. Also must ship. Send pictures and price. Thanks!
I have a restored one I am ready to part with. $750 plus shipping. Frame is powdercoated. Chainguard decal custom made. Derailleur, cable, and shifter are new
old stock.
I Paid $100 for a rough one, bad paint, wrong shifter, cable, and derailleur, wrong seat, needed tires, chain guard, scrub and repack. I paid $250 for another mess that had the klunker 5 guard but got scammed, I bought a cruiser 5 out of washington state for $300 plus $200 to ship. That was a...
I bought it. I'm not worried about the horn because the sound freaks out my dog. It was worth it to me to find a nice original to keep my bike authentic. I left the rotten horn in there. If you start mixing parts you basically have a reproduction and might as well just buy that. And there is a...
In talking to others it appears to be. I wasnt happy with the paint loss and didn't want to attempt a repaint. I paid a premium for another nice original replacement. I'm just looking to reduce my cost on that one.
Selling the Schwinn Black Phantom horn tank that came on my recently purchased 1957. Inside and outside is very clean with only slight surface rust (view pictures). Paint is poor, no dents, only one correct screw, 4 incorrect ones, delta stamped horn in clean shape but DOES NOT SOUND. I am...
It would be impractical to respoke heavy wheels with thinner spokes. the holes are too big. Somebody swapped out the wheels for cleaner ones or stole them.
NOS Torrington spokes and nipples. Sold in bundles of 36 each. Likely from the 1950s. Spokes measure 10 5/8 inches long and nipples are 3/4 inch long. Galvanized steel like original equipment. Perfect exact replacements for early cruisers! Spoke and nipple shown in comparison with one removed...
Ok, thanks! My rear fender on my new purchase has two holes but the distance between them is shorter than the fancy chrome reflector I see on most of these. Maybe it had a mudflap installed.
As it turns out, steyr and sturmey 3 speed hub parts ARE interchangable, apples to apples. I was able to gut a '74 stamped sturmey aw hub and use the entire guts in my 64 sears steyr hub. I'm not 100 % sure but my skipping issue was caused by the ring gear teeth being worn down and/or the lower...
I've done the adjustment several times. It seems ok for a short while and then the problem comes back. It has the magura twist grip. It's too small for my big paws so I'm going to change it for the tried and true sturmey trigger type and try again. I wanted to keep it original but rideability is...
I cleaned it and inspcted it and didn't see anything damaged. It has a magura twist grip shifter which I don't care for. I may also have made a mistake using nylon housing rather than the original type. I'll change those first.
I have a 1964 sears bike with a steyr 3 speed that skips while pedaling. I understand they are copied from the sturmey aw hub. Are the pawls and springs interchangable? Thanks!
I have the fork straight now. It was definitely bent back about 3/4 ". Irepacked and checked the headset and wheel bearings. I am using kenda 75's which have a different tread and they are pumped up hard. Maybe thats why.
From an automotive perspective, it has "positive caster". The steering has a stiff feel and a harsh ride. The kind of ride you get if you were to put 3 speed style handlebars on a racing bike. Schwinn used to list the head tube angles for their paramounts and some other road bikes but I have...
Can anyone tell me the head tube angle on a King size and how to measure it? I straightened my forks but the bike doesn't ride the same as my regular schwinn middleweights.
