I had fun fixing this up and I'm ready to move it on to someone who appreciates CWC bikes. I believe that it is a 38' or a 39' and I built it from the frame/forks up. Fenders are off of a ladies Roadmaster from the same era. Good rider and killer patina. Solid frame. I kept the blues and...
I desperately need a collet to fit with the seat post on my 1898 Columbia shaft drive bicycle. I suspect that these are tricky to find and maybe someone has a suggestion of how to machine or modify a part as well. Thanks in advance!
Anyone out there know off hand what the correct spoke length is to build a 26" Schwinn drop center rim with this standard Schwinn front hub? Three cross, 36 hole.
So I've got this prewar frame and I believe that it would build into a nice rider. I like the welds and the patina, and I'm guessing that it is Cleveland Welding.
Anyone out there have any more details on it? Is it a Road Master?
I'm also looking for parts for it to buy if anyone has for sale...
Over the years I've accumulated a number of bicycle postcards that ended up on the wall of my workshop. Looks like these postcards are informally sharing the story of the bicycle through art, romance, circus acts, history, track races, bizarre painted backdrops, the great depression, etc.

1950-52 Hawthorne Triple bar 26" bike. I purchased the frame recently from ebay, and it is in good condition with no cracks. The blue wheels and parts were transferred off of another Hawthorne and I then decided to move on to other projects before finding fenders and chain guard. A very unique...
Early Hawthorne frame with brass "Flyer" badge. I am unsure if it is actually a Hawthorne, and the serial number is pretty faded. Frame is rusty, but solid, some dings but no rust holes. Would work for a build, or cool as wall art! $115 plus $60 to ship.
I picked this up on the CABE recently and finished cleaning it up. 1912 "Crown" bicycle, built by the "Great Western Manufacturing Company" in Laporte, Indiana.

I set this frame aside because it reminded me of the first Schwinn frames that Gary Fisher was building klunker mountain bikes out of to bomb mount Tam and later Pearl Pass in Colorado, my home state. I finally got around to painting it and added some S2 rims and mountain bike handlebars...
