I found this old Peugeot bicycle recently at an auction. I did a little research online and believe it to be a 1972 model PX10 . The auction manager told me that when the crew picked it up from the seller they were told that "dad bought this bike in France and raced it there before bringing it...
Thank you!!
I am thinking the expense of two wheels for this bike would add plenty to the cost . It would look better I admit. Someone else told me they thought this frame and fenders probably came with 28" maybe wooden rimmed wheels back in the 1930's. Do you think so?
It is finished now. I know it has no great monetary value, I just used this nearly free complete bike to learn a bit about restoration of old bicycles. Since it was painted black by a previous owner many years ago there was nothing to preserve, and the mish mash of parts made it interesting...
I used steel wool and vinegar to get the loose rust and surface rust off. I will try the tin foil trick also but I think the chrome is gone in too many places to get it much better. I used foil and vinegar on the rims which worked pretty well. Thanks for that reminder.
I am moving along in this bike renewal. It is not a restoration, as It is not going to try to look like a particular vintage bike because of the variety of parts it has on it. I am only interested in refreshing it into a rider. I have removed the rattle can black paint job somebody did on...

Thanks for the info Shawn. I think I'll just put some tires on it and clean up the chain and bearings, hammer out the bent up rear mud guard, clean some of the rust off the rims and handlebars, and spray some fresh paint on it. That'll keep me busy during this stay-at-home period.
Thank you fordmike65, and all for checking in on my request. I agree, it seems to be an older Snyder frame. The headbadge looks like it is original the way the rivets are used to hold it tight to the headtube, and the badge is of a slightly different design, smooth line down and around the...
I picked this barn find up last week but cannot identify it. It has a Flying Star headbadge riveted to the head tube, It has a Shelby looking crank wheel. Other parts look Schwinn. The bottom bracket has three groups of numbers hand stamped "664" "94" and along the edge "6763".
