Here is one i am messn with, was told it looks like a 39 elgin, murray built. The headbadge holes are left to right and not top to bottom. It currently has some schwinn parts. There is a LA Co stamped next to the serial #. Also not sure if chain guard is correct.

I was in the same spot as you, i have a model 59 columbia shaft drive but was in need of a back hub. I lucked out and found one but for awhile i was thinking of producing my own. I was told that i could have a hub of my choice fabricated with a similar bevel gear. See pic. Just an idea- mike
Yes, i have purchased maybe 4 pair from you. Your grips are awesome. I get alot of compliments on these. I have a pair set aside for my shaft drive, i have a pair on my 1916 mead and a set for my Columbia rear steer. :)

What kind of spoke does this hub take?, is it possible to still find spokes for these ? I would really love to get these laced up but am stuck. Thank you for any ideas, feedback. - mike

I have a question about the back hub installation, not sure on how to install this hub, does this hub need a inner axel? I tried inserting a ND back hub axel but that was to thick, so i inserted a front hub axel which is thinner and it fit but not long enough. Am i correct on needing an axel or...
