Good morning group.
I’m wondering if anyone would be kind enough to share a little wisdom and advice with a newbie fixer/restorer?
I’m looking at a 24 inch 1937 rollfast (supposedly “deluxe” but no tank).
It is only the frame and trussed forks.
What would be a fair price to pay for the frame and...
24 inch Perry coaster hub rear, and the front axle says “made in western Germany”.
These came off of a 1950’s Ross thunderjet.
Both wheels spin very straight, without the slightest hint of a wobble. The paint is flaking spotty but they would be great for the patina look.
The oil port is missing...
It works great, and it’s LOUD!!
Klaxon(?) horn.
There are no markings on it that I can find, but it sounds like an “oogah” horn.
A previous owner had painted it gold.
I was able to get most of the paint off but there’s a dot here and there that shouldn’t be too much work to remove.
Nice patina...
Hi. I’m looking for advice on selling and shipping wheels.
I have a very nice set of painted 1950’s Perry 24” wheels with really nice snake belly tires.
The paint is bubbled off in places but the wheels spin without the slightest wobble. Very straight and smooth.
The tires are old but they’ve...
Good morning group.
I couldn’t find a general discussion about accessories so delete if not appropriate to post here.
I came across these horns recently and am hoping that some of the knowledgeable folks can tell anything about them.
They work but need some TLC.
The one with the gold nut is like...
I have a girl’s head tube shroud that was in rough condition, so I cut off the point and trimmed the end to see if it could be made to fit a mens bike.
Only problem is is that I don’t have a mens tank monark.
It doesn’t fit my ward’s/Snyder real well but it looks like it could fit my Hiawatha...
Hi group
Not too long ago I picked up a very old boy’s size, not adult, leather, spring support saddle seat.
I recently took it apart for cleaning and got to wondering how common these small seats are?
I’ve never seen one.
Anyone familiar with this company?
TIA
Hi.
Would someone be so kind to tell me about S2 and S7 rims plz?
I know one of them takes a special tire but I don’t know which one or if both need a specific tire, can’t use 26x2.125.
thank you
Good morning CABE dwellers.
I see a few posts here and there about old tires on occasion and it’s surprising what prices pop up for some of them, but recently I came across a set of tires that really just blow my mind, and I’d like to hear what “the pros” (you guys, 😎) think about a value for...
I’m looking for the lenses for this rack/carrier.
I I recall correctly, at one time someone here was making repops?
Also can anyone tell me the model/make bike this came from?
Thank you for any and all your help.
Hi group.
Does anyone have an image of the mounting hardware that would go on what I’ve recently come to know as a “slide rail”seat (like the rail in the image provided)?
I’m trying to envision what it looked like:how it worked.
Thank you
I’m trying to repair and paint a 48 pacemaker and having a Dickens of a time removing and replacing this rear wheel on this thing. The axle bolt is too long to let it pass beyond the hoops. Is there something I’m missing or is everybody else have the same problem?
How do you deal with it...
I’m looking for a vintage child’s bicycle.
Boys or girls is fine.
Any condition is fine also.
Let me know what you have or if you know someone that does.
Thank you

Hi.
I am now the proud owner of a crusty western flyer X53 project.
The fenders had been chopped and foolishly I thought “no problem. I have a nice set to replace them with “.
Well the joke was on me, eh?
I had no idea that these fenders are exclusive to this bike.
Now my project just became a...
Hi.
I love the old tricycles and kid’s bikes but I never really felt like a branch of this hobby to spend my time on since I didn’t have a grandchild…but that all changed this morning.😁
Call me grandpa, lol.
Coincidentally this item I ordered last week showed up.
I didn’t even realize it was for...
I don’t know if this topic has been discussed, though im certain the questions have been asked, but I couldn’t find it if it has been. And please delete if not in the appropriate location.
A lot of times we’re looking for a tank specific for our bike but tanks from other bikes might fit your...
Hi group.
I finally got myself a genuine whizzer, a ‘48 pacemaker.
I spent the week stripping it down (it had already been repainted) and I’ll be damned if I can find a number on it anywhere.
Nothing on the BB.
Nothing on the seat tube or head tube either.
Is it possible this one didn’t have a...
This may have been addressed already but I can’t find it anywhere else so I’m hoping some of the more knowledgeable in the group can help me ID these fenders Liz?
Do you know what year and model this set would have come on?
They look to be stainless under the paint.
Plz let me know if you have...
Hi.
I recently purchased this light (haven’t received it yet) and am hoping to find out what bike(s) this would have come on?
If anyone cares to share some knowledge it would be very much appreciated.
Thanks gang and stay safe out there.
Hello group.
I couldn’t figure out where to post this topic.
If this is the wrong discussion board please let me I’d appreciate any help in directing this post to it’s correct location.
Thx
so I bought a fender set that came with a delta ray body with no cover.
I found a nicely patina’d cover...
Hi group hope everyone is doing fine.
I’m hoping someone here can/will help me figure this thing out.
I recently purchased this “horn” (sold to me as a siren) and I can’t figure it out.
I put batteries in it and it heated up hot real quick (not immediately but in about 4 minutes).
Not sure if...
Is anybody use these rims on the old balloon bikes yet? They don't come with any instructions and I was wondering about some of the stuff I like to hear some thoughts on them. thanks for looking
Alright group, I have a question for the experts (or anybody that happens to know the answer, lol);
Can anybody identify this rack for me please?
I like it a lot and am looking for the lenses if you can help with that too.
As always, stay safe and thanks for looking.
I picked this up today.
I almost didn't buy it because it's a 24inch but the OP was talking to me and the $35 price tag just made it impossible for me to say no.
Anybody got anything they can add to or correct the info I have so far?
Thx
Hello.
I am looking for a gothic/peaked rear fender with left skirt guard.
Will consider fender set with left guard and any combination of other parts.
Make/year is unimportant.
TIA
I was about to bid on a tank that I've had my heart set on for months now when it occurred to me that it just may be a dumb move.
Why would/should buying a vintage tank for a vintage bike be a dumb move?
Because there is no money in vintage bikes that are not og/original paint, so spending a...
Hi gang.
I am told these are fender braces.
I don't understand how they work with flat spots where there should be radii(?) but I'm just a retired heating and cooling tech.
Can someone wiser clue me in please?
Thank you
Hi gang.
I hope I can lean on the group once again to help me determine the best course of action.
I recently acquired a 1946-47 CWC/Roadmaster 226WH.
It had been powder coated but the finish is "crazing"/cracking (It should be visible in the pics).
I want to know if I should
1) keep the...
I have a 1980's(?) locking (capable) Columbia repro. springer fork in excellent/as new condition. Never been installed.
I do not have the lock/keys for it.
In these pics you see the chrome spring arm in place.
I have the primered spring arm for it also.
I want to trade for a tank for either my...
(If this has been addressed ad nauseam just let me know. Thx)
So, like most people's, my classic bikes (1938-1948) are "fixies", or single speed tanks.
I assume drop outs can be adjusted to fit a multi-speed cassette?
has anyone here done this operation and willing to share the process?
I'm...
Hi group.
I am soon to be the proud owner of an old (haven't established the date yet) Roadmaster "Whizzer" frame w/springer-truss forks.
I'm currently collecting parts and pieces for it now.
I'm a broke arse and a tight wad, so the engine is going to be a toughy for me (besides, I'm not a...
Hello CABERs.
I am looking for a spring for my "rollfast" springer fork, like that shown below.
Please let me know if you have an old one or a new one, either will be fine.
Thanks group
Just when I think I'm getting a hold on this stuff something new comes along that I thought i had settled out already.
I recently seen a conversation that was making the distinction between a cruiser and a balloon tire bicycle.
I was of the impression that they were one in the same(?)
What gives?
An earlier post about "reasons to join the wheelmen..." reminded me that last week I found a site called "Everything Murray bicycles".
Are you all familiar with that site?
I went through their entire sign up process only to find out that I still can't read anything until I "donate" to the...
I don't want to ruin anything so I'm hesitant to go forward with this until I find out how to proceed correctly. The bearings don't want to just fall out now that it's open and I'm just wondering if this is a bottom bracket that I'm unfamiliar with?
Is this a regular bottom bracket or is this...
I have yet to find an example of a Warrior bicycle, but I am now the proud owner of 7 NOS "Warrior" headbadges(?)
Does anyone here know of these bikes?
Hi
I recently became the somewhat proud (it's another story) owner of a '40' Hiawatha double arced top bar bare frame with headbadge.
I have the fork chosen and the fenders bought and the chain guard and rear rack in paint, but the one thing I have not decided on is what tires and rims I'm going...
(If this is off-topic or better elsewhere please let me know)
Hello group.
I recently bid a moderately lowball price on what was advertised as "Hiawatha/shelby/arrow/airflow/speedline" cruiser bicycle frame.
The bidding was ending in 3 days and my bid was good for 2 days.
In the meantime I'm...
Hello group, hope all are well.
I would like to pick your brains concerning this bike I found.
what's the chance this is really an army bike?
What might it's year/era be?
How much would it be worth if it's real?
Thanks for sharing your knowledge and wisdom.
